Chapter 121 The Conspiracy (part 5)
Mountain of Green Lotus ca crashing down through the clouds, around it were thousands of lightning streaks. Its montum was so aggressive, as if the entire Imperial Palace was going to be shattered by it!
Liu Xingshen groaned and raised his giant claws towards the sky, now he looked like a titan who dared to carry the weight of the Sun and the Moon!
All cultivators within and outside the Palace opened their eyes in disbelief upon seeing that. Everyone could feel the imnse pressure from Mountain of Green Lotus, and was petrified by that, regardless of their cultivation levels. They could all imagine their bodies being crashed into pieces if the mountain fell upon them.
Wang Jian was guarding Changle Gate when he saw the mountain. He simply swallowed his own saliva in terror, it was impossible to hide the fear in his eyes. He knew better than anyone that he was beyond lucky to have survived Li Ye’s assault. It wasn’t because he was good at blocking those attacks, but Li Ye didn’t use his full strength at all!
This was the killing move that Li Ye activated with all his cultivation at Level 8 of Qi-refining, it was way more powerful than the Mountain of Green Lotus that defeated Wang Jian earlier on!
Song Jiao and others were busy fighting against masters of Regal Guards. When they sensed the mountain smashing into the earth, they felt as if their hearts were shaken by it as well. They were all afraid that the earth wouldn’t be able to withstand the impact this strong. When Song Jiao was able to catch a breath, she looked up and whispered absentmindedly, “Could this be the power inherited from Yuan Tiangang?”
With a blast, Liu Xingshen’s giant claws clashed with the falling mountain and managed to slow it down. At that mont, he was like a titan, a pillar supporting in between the Heaven and Earth, shaking upon the huge impact. He was standing on the rooftop, and all the tiles below his feet started cracking one by one. He even heard the squeaking sound from the house, as if it would collapse the next second!
Liu Xingshen’s expression changed. The power from the Mountain of Green Lotus was way stronger than he had expected, to the point that he almost couldn’t believe the existence of such a technique. As the Lieutenant of Regal Guards, he was undoubtedly extrely knowledgeable, and there were barely any secrets that he didn’t know about. He had seen most of the techniques in the world, yet he had no recollection on this technique in front of his eyes!
“Could it be a rare inheritance?” Liu Xingshen gritted his teeth at the thought. Across the whole world, there were only a few inheritances beyond his reach. Those often exist either as a mystery or a legend! Otherwise, how could soone with his status not have known about it?
“How can this kid get his hands on a Hidden Inheritance? Maybe this is the true strength of Yuan Tiangang?” Liu Xingshen was shocked at this possible explanation. At the sa ti, Mountain of Green Lotus pushed down even more, and his giant claws seed to be losing their grips. Realizing that he was not keeping up well, Liu Xingshen felt both embarrassed and irritated.
He knew without any doubt that if he didn’t fight back with his full strength, he would be smashed into the house by Mountain of Green Lotus!
“The inheritance from Yuan Tiangang is indeed powerful and unpredictable, yet you are nothing more than a weakling at Level 6 of Qi-refining, how can you release the strength as strong as Yuan Tiangang?” said Liu Xingshen as he stared at Li Ye furiously. Finally, he unleashed his true strength as a cultivator who reached Great Completion of all nine levels of Qi-refining, he was no longer holding back!
Mountain of Green Lotus that was still pressing down the Imperial Palace then exploded with a heavy bang. Luke Sword flew back to Li Ye’s hand, and those two giant claws disappeared as well. Green tiles on the rooftop of every house were smashed by the impact and rolled up into the air like unstoppable waves on the sea.
Had the palace not been protected by its own barrier, most of the houses and buildings would have collapsed.
Liu Xingshen used his sleeve to disperse the dust and debris around him, and snorted, “It’s still so early yet you’ve already used your killing move, now I really want to know how else you can escape from death!”
Just as he was about to make a move, he felt the chill at his mid-brows as another green lotus appeared blooming in front of his eyes. He was once again enveloped by that terrifying and suffocating feeling.
“Low-level tricks!” Liu Xingshen snorted at Li Ye’s attempt. He stomped heavily and one wave of Spiritual Qi dispersed around him. Using his two fingers as sword, he pointed them forward and used the energy from his Sword Qi to penetrate the green lotus.
Li Ye erged with his Luke Sword in hand once the green lotus dispersed. The light reflected from the sword was as pure as the moonlight. Pointing his sword directly at Liu Xingshen, he dashed towards him!
“How dare you co close to when I already broke your green lotus?” Liu Xingshen thought scornfully. When he was about to break his Sword thod, however, he sensed danger approaching and felt a chill behind his neck, as if he was locked as the target of an arrow!
With his cultivation and experience, Liu Xingsheng realized instantly that Li Ye was controlling so magic tools secretly. He must be planning to combine the tools with his Sword thod, so as to distract him and assault him from behind!
Judging from the aggressiveness behind him, Li Ye’s front attack was obviously serving as a re distraction!
“How dare you plan an underhand attack on !” Liu Xingshen couldn’t suppress his anger, yet he must dodge the attack imdiately. Under the pressing situation, he applied his movent techniques. He stepped according to the law of Yin and Yang, following the patterns of the eight trigrams in order to dodge the attacks by the magic tools behind him.
No matter how he shifted his position, however, the chill at his back was always there, as if maggots clung onto a corpse!
He didn’t expect that to be a one-off tool. Instead, it was one with the ability to lock and track its target. Liu Xingshen imdiately realized that must be so rare magic tool of no ordinary Class-ranking!
anwhile, Li Ye was already approaching with the sword in his hand, which was pointed directly at Liu Xingshen’s mid-brows in no ti. When it ca to movent techniques, Li Ye naturally wouldn’t lose to Liu, and that made the situation extrely difficult for Liu.
Just as Liu Xingshen was about to be hit, he shouted as a copper bell flew out from his sleeve, it then grew bigger and protected him from behind!
Clank! Crisp sounds of clashing could be heard on the bell as Luke Sword clashed with the Sword Qi.
“Go the hell!” Liu Xingshen shouted angrily as he extended both his arms to unleash nurous streaks of Sword Qi. They followed one another as if so kind of formation was hidden in their movent, surrounding Li Ye and leaving him with no way to escape. However, as he was halfway through activating the sword formation, he felt a chill coming from two sides of his body and then spread across his entire body. Surprisingly, the magic tools bypassed his copper bell and were aiming toward his rib cage from below!
After having a clearer look, Liu Xingshen realized those were two flying swords of vibrant colors!
No longer able to sustain his sword formation, Liu Xingshen shook his body violently in an attempt to dodge the attack, yet the two swords still slashed under his rib cage. With two distinct sounds of flesh being cut open, blood was spilled. Exasperated, Liu Xingshen had no choice but to step back imdiately to dodge other incoming attacks!
It took up much energy for Li Ye to respond and block the attack from the sword formation, hence he lost the chance to hurt Liu Xingshen for the ti being. He must keep up with his frontal attacks while controlling the flying sword “Seven Fairies”, and that had placed a huge burden on him both physically and ntally, causing him to feel dizzy for a mont. It took him much effort to keep steady again.
Once Liu Xingshen was far away from Li Ye, he reached out under his rib cage and found blood all over his palm—he was wounded! Despite that, the wound was not serious and only his flesh was cut open by the sword, he still felt extrely indignant and ashad of himself!
“I never expected them to be flying swords!” Liu Xingshen stared at Li Ye as he felt anger gradually filling up his chest. He once thought that even with his cultivation strengthened with Golden Spiritual Pills, Li Ye would still be crushed by him easily. However, now he was the one being wounded by Li Ye, and nothing could make him feel more ashad and angrier than that!
“How can you possess flying swords? How can you control two of them at the sa ti at only Level 6 of Qi-refining?” Liu Xingshen was both in shock and irritated, until the point his facial expression had beco distorted.
Without reaching a high-level standard of Qi-refining, one wouldn’t be qualified to control a flying sword. As a beginner at Level 6 of Qi-refining, Li Ye wasn’t supposed to be using flying swords. However, not only was he using them, but he had also mastered them, so much so that he could design strategies with the help of flying swords, hence wounding Liu Xingshen in the way he couldn’t have expected. All of this had completely toppled Liu Xingshen’s understanding.
It was still understandable that Li Ye was able to attain special techniques with the inheritance from Yuan Tiangang, yet it was utterly unexpected for him to have mastered flying swords with only a few years of cultivation! One could only control flying swords with a huge amount of practice. In order to master the techniques of flying swords, one still had to explore and learn from experience, hence it was assud that one often needs more than just a couple of years to master them.
After a short mont of dizziness, Li Ye could finally think and see clearly again. He was rather disappointed that his attack only wounded Liu Xingshen a little and made him lose his composure. After all, he spent a lot of ti in constructing that set of plan.
He swung Luke Sword at Liu Xingshen, not caring about anything he shouted, and said, “Stop your nonsense. Are you really so arrogant that you actually believe you’re invincible at the Great Completion of Qi-refining? There are so many things that you don’t know about in this vast world.”
He then dashed toward Liu Xingshen with his sword pointing at him.
“Don’t get over yourself! I’m only wounded because I underestimated your capabilities, and now you’ve really made angry! You better prepare yourself for what’s coming to you, because that’s going to take your life!” Liu Xingshen growled at Li Ye, and he could no longer suppress his anger.
