Yet Seoryun remained persistent. He continued to stare at Darius, eyes full of hope, as if he could convince the red-haired swordsman to give in with sheer willpower. If that darn dark elf hadn’t vanished into stealth mode, he wouldn’t have even considered dragging a swordsman into this!

Bla yourself for not knowing how to turn invisible!

The tall swordsman being stared at with laser intensity: ...

Seriously. Don’t look at . It’s not happening!

Darius wasn’t dumb—just too lazy to use his brain most of the ti. But that didn’t an he lacked self-preservation. The scene of Seoryun getting smacked was still fresh in his mind. If he went to wake the elf now, wouldn’t he be next in line for a beating?

Sure, swordsn could take a hit, but that didn’t an they were masochists.

Let it be known—especially to a certain clueless monarch.

Yes, that ans you, Seoryun!

Darius silently cursed the utterly shaless king in his heart, though he dared not say anything out loud. Could he say it? Only if he no longer wished to live.

He’d already experienced more than enough suffering during their past adventures together.

Too many tears to speak of.

Yet now he was faced with another impossible dilemma: risk his life to wake a sleeping elf or risk future tornt by ignoring a command from a certain black-haired king.

Hmm. What a complex choice.

Darius stared at the two equally miserable paths before him, trapped in a state of internal conflict.

The tension in the room rose instantly.

The strange atmosphere said it all.

No one dared to move. Everyone stood frozen, stealing glances at each other, hoping soone else would make a move.

anwhile, Illiya, still lying in bed, began to feel increasingly uncomfortable in his sleep. It was that earlier motion—swatting the "bee"—that had started to wake him up bit by bit. Now he couldn’t fall back asleep.

Was it possible... that the buzzing in his ears hadn’t been a bee at all, but soone talking?

And if that were the case, was it also possible that what he’d swatted away just now... wasn’t a bug, but a person? And even more troubling—did he actually hit soone?

Hah... haha... hahahahaha...

Yeah, there was nothing funny about this at all.

As he continued thinking, the last traces of drowsiness faded completely from Illiya’s mind. His thoughts cleared up, and his brain kicked back into gear.

His previously closed eyes opened wide—bright and alert, with none of the haze of sleep.

Thankfully, he was lying with his back to the others, pretending to sleep. No one saw him open his eyes.

Otherwise... he genuinely wouldn’t know how to face the person he had just accidentally punched in the face.

Illiya secretly sighed in his heart. Right now, he didn’t dare make any big moves—no, he didn’t even dare make any small moves. All he could do was pretend that he hadn’t woken up yet.

As long as soone ca to wake him, he could then "successfully" wake up with the perfect excuse.

So please, soone co wake him up already.

But what he didn’t expect was that the few people in the room who were in a position to wake him were all secretly trying to avoid the job. It seed no one could decide who exactly should do the honors.

And just like that, both groups fell into silence.

Illiya: Soone please co wake up.

Darius, Seoryun, and Drow: Who’s going to wake Illiya up?! You do it! No, you do it!

...

In a border city under the Nubilian Union.

"My luck is amazing, I can’t believe I actually made it all the way to the city gates. That wasn’t easy at all." Eoryun stared at the familiar large stone in front of the city gate and let out a sigh.

Thinking back on the long and winding route he had taken after disembarking, he nearly wiped away tears for himself.

So the elental spirits could lie after all!

And the gullible fool... was him!

"Now, let think. Which inn were we staying at last ti? Let see..."

After muttering to himself, Eoryun fell into deep thought. His brows were tightly furrowed, and his lips pressed into a thin line. He looked visibly conflicted as he walked.

The truth was, he really didn’t rember the way. Soone had guided him last ti, so he hadn’t worried about getting lost and therefore hadn’t bothered morizing any landmarks. But now he was on his own, with no map in sight, and it was proving to be a real problem.

As he struggled to recall anything useful, a nearby shout drew his attention.

"Maps for sale! Maps for sale! You won’t be tricked, and you won’t be ripped off! Cheap and reliable—first co, first served!"

Maps for sale? Could it be a map of this very city?

Was this a pillow falling into his lap just as he was dozing off? What perfect timing!

Just when Eoryun had been fretting over getting lost, he casually strolled toward the source of the voice. But before he could get there, he saw a thick crowd already surrounding the map vendor.

Eoryun: ???

No way, seriously? Even buying a map is competitive now?

In just that brief mont of his mind wandering, the number of maps in the vendor’s hands had dropped rapidly—until there was only one left.

Eoryun: !!!!!!!

Without waiting for anyone else to speak, he raised his voice and shouted, "I’ll pay one gold coin! Put that map down!"

As soon as his words landed, the crowd around him froze in shock.

Everyone’s gaze, full of surprise and doubt, turned toward Eoryun.

But Eoryun didn’t feel ashad at all—in fact, he proudly puffed out his chest. He strode forward, and the crowd, sensing the atmosphere, parted to let him through.

"I’ll take it. Here’s one gold coin," Eoryun said eagerly, pulling out the coin and handing it over.

The map vendor had never seen anything like this before and was montarily speechless.
