And a grudge lasting a millennium wasn’t sothing that could be let go with a few words.

"Still, just saying it outright like this—are you sure that’s a good idea?" Illiya asked, speechless.

Seoryun shrugged, clearly indifferent. "It’s fine. Doesn’t affect much. Compared to other countries, I’m already being pretty polite. I only place spies on the outskirts, and they’re only there to report if any major movents happen."

"Rember the royal knights from the Yaguk Theocracy at the city gates?"

"Sending knights to the Nubilian Union at this point in ti can only be about the war three months from now. It’s all just early deploynt. And let’s be honest, they probably got intel from their own spies too, right?"

Illiya was stunned by how naturally Seoryun spoke about this.

He didn’t know whether to be more shocked that spies were involved—or that war preparations had already started.

Help. It was happening this early?

Seeing the surprise in Illiya’s face, Seoryun chuckled lightly. "Actually, I suspect that’s not all."

Illiya leaned forward slightly, clearly ready to listen.

Seoryun paused a mont to collect his thoughts, then began to explain his theory. "How should I put this..."

"There’s no record in any of the continent’s books about what caused the enmity between the demon race and the other races. All that’s ever ntioned is the war itself. And no one even knows when the tradition of fighting every fifty years began."

"My grandfather’s generation in Areuseon Kingdom had already stopped taking the war seriously. He thought it was pointless and a waste of ti. So from then on, Areuseon Kingdom stopped caring about sending spies into the demon realm. In fact, we even secretly recalled the ones who had been stationed there. Honestly, any spies we still send are just for show."

"At the very least, we don’t want to look like we’re not playing along."

Seoryun ended with a quiet sigh, and there was a trace of bitterness in his voice that needed no explanation.

He rubbed his face, trying to shift to a more positive tone. "Anyway, enough of the depressing stuff—let’s move on."

"Not every country is like Areuseon Kingdom. So countries on the continent really hate the demon race."

Illiya said, "You an, like the Yaguk Theocracy?"

"Yes, exactly like the Yaguk Theocracy," Seoryun nodded.

"This country is extrely unfriendly to the demons. So, three months before the great war even begins, they’ve already sent out their royal knights to the areas surrounding the Border. Sothing must be happening around there."

Following Seoryun’s line of thought, Illiya thought further.

A country that holds deep hatred for demons suddenly dispatches its knight order ahead of schedule...

Illiya was struck by a shocking idea and blurted out, "The Yaguk Theocracy must have sent their knights because there are demons near the Border!"

"I suspect there have been demon sightings in this region!" Seoryun’s voice rang out at the sa ti.

Illiya and Seoryun had co to the exact sa conclusion.

There was still a month left before the Border would officially open, yet demons were already appearing in the border cities of the Nubilian Union.

At such a sensitive ti, the sudden ergence of demons inevitably raised suspicions—could it be that the demons were planning a major move?

Coupled with the recent appearance of the

Fallen Demons in the Areuseon Kingdom...

The situation was becoming increasingly complex and difficult to unravel.

After saying goodbye to his companions, Illiya returned to his room.

Too much information from the day was crowding his mind. His head was filled with thoughts of the Border, Demons, Fallen Demons, Yaguk Theocracy’s Royal Knight ... and more. Everything was tangled together into a chaotic ss, with no clear beginning or end.

His instincts told him that all of this was connected sohow, but he couldn’t find the starting point of the thread—his thoughts were completely muddled.

It was truly overwhelming.

Illiya sat dazed in a chair, his eyes vacant as he stared off into nothing.

His gaze was fixed forward but didn’t land on any particular object. The more he thought about it, the more complicated everything seed.

The feeling of things being out of his control made him deeply uncomfortable—it was even more frustrating than back when he was in the Elven Forest, guessing every day whether the teacher instructing him was a real person or not.

He couldn’t go on like this.

Suddenly, Illiya stood up, reached out to rub his face, trying to relax a bit, to shake off the anxious spiral he was caught in.

He extended his hand, palm up. A faint glow of ancient white light flashed from the spatial bracelet on his wrist, and a thick stack of blank paper appeared in his hand. After placing the paper on the table, he pulled out a quill pen and ink bottle and set them to the side.

Illiya pulled up a stool and sat at the table, beginning to write.

He first wrote down key terms: "The Border," "Border cities of the Nubilian Union," "Demons," "Royal Knight Order of the Yaguk Theocracy," "Fallen Demons," and so on. Then, beside each keyword, he started jotting down the intel he already knew.

[ The Royal Knight Order of the Yaguk Theocracy was dispatched early to the border cities of the Nubilian Union (around the Border), and there must be a reason. But whether it’s because of the demons or not still needs to be verified. ]

[ If the above assumption holds true, then it ans there are demons active in these border cities. However, since the last Demon King disappeared, the demons have rarely been seen in the outside world. Especially in the past hundred years, thr demons have been almost impossible to find on the continent. So, if the demons are suddenly reappearing, does that an a new Demon King has erged? ]

[ The King of Areuseon Kingdom is heading toward the demons’ territory to investigate, which indicates that sothing major must have happened within the demon race. Combining this with the earlier guess, the large movent of the demons could very well be related to this new Demon King. But that depends on whether the previous assumptions are valid. ]

[ Is the new Demon King among the demons related to the "Demon King" ntioned by the fake king of the Areuseon Kingdom? Why would Fallen Demons appear in the demon race, which is typically lazy and undisciplined? And why are they appearing on the continent? What exactly does Fallen Demon an? What does ’fallen’ truly signify? ]
