What did he an by saying he was himself, but not himself?

Clearly, his brain was not working well.

He quickly corrected himself. "What I an is, the future is still . Both the present and future versions of are the sa person. It’s just that the current now possesses several decades, maybe a century’s worth of extra mories."

Seeing that Illiya did not interrupt him or question anything, Drow relaxed a bit and continued speaking. "I awakened these mories during my travels. It wasn’t like I had them from the beginning. The whole reason I set out on that journey was to find you, because you’re my soul-bonded partner."

"It wasn’t until we reached Haneulsong City that the mories began to return, slowly at first." Drow scrambled to explain, not wanting Illiya to misunderstand. "I didn’t fully rember everything until we ca to the demon realm. The trauma I suffered here was greater, so the mories were all triggered at once."

"That’s why I started acting so strangely. I didn’t want the scenes from my mory to happen again." As Drow spoke to this point, there was sadness and pain in his voice. This was a wound he did not dare to touch.

"You never once doubted that the mories appearing in your mind might be fake?" Illiya could not help but ask. But the mont the words left his mouth, he regretted them.

That question clearly was not appropriate at this mont and it sounded far too much like he was questioning the dark elf’s intentions, which was a sign of deep disrespect.

Drow, however, did not mind. He answered firmly, "No. I will never allow even the smallest danger that could harm you to exist. Even if those mories are fake, I would still do the sa. As for what happens after that, I think you’ve probably already guessed it, Illiya."

After saying that, Drow shut his eyes tightly he then took a deep breath and stood frozen in place like a lamb waiting to be judged, without any resistance and quietly awaiting fate’s verdict.

Illiya sighed.

Now he finally understood why his teacher had always told him with deep aning that, unless absolutely necessary or under special circumstances, it was best not to get involved with a dark elf.

Because the personality of a dark elf was so stubborn that it could not be changed and sotis, you simply had to follow their logic and rhythm.

Illiya jumped down from the tree and landed steadily on the ground.

He walked over to Drow, reached out to brush the leaves off his shoulders, and without giving any direct answer, he simply used the sa calm tone as before to speak lightly.

"Now that the fifty-year pact has officially ended, even though the two of us were behind the scenes most of the ti, it’s probably best to show our faces now. After all, we still need to say goodbye to our teammates, don’t you think?"

Only when Drow heard these words did his tense body finally begin to relax.

The heavy weight on his chest was lifted at last and the frozen blood in his veins began to circulate again.

Ever since he had regained the mories of the future, he had not had a mont’s peace.

He had kept his guard up at the highest level all the ti.

Only after he had finally revealed everything and received his soul-bonded companion’s "forgiveness" did he feel like he had co back to life again.

He was never so brave hero who dared to defy fate.

He was just a coward who tried his hardest to bring back the person he cherished most.

He thought, perhaps from this mont on, this was the beginning of his true rebirth.

...

After the war of the fifty-year pact ended, Illiya and Drow began preparing to head to the territory of the sky race.

When they had first arrived in the demon realm, their adventuring party had many mbers. But who could have known what the future would bring? None of them had imagined that by the ti they left, only two people would remain.

Seohyun Jinmu and Darius Valeblade were not able to continue the adventure with them.

They had no desire at all to return to work in the kingdom.

It was just too exhausting.

But they had no choice.

Yaguk Theocracy had completely exploded in scandal, with undeniable evidence of their collusion with the Fallen demons.

Moreover, the leader of Yaguk Theocracy had died in the demon realm.

That news had surely spread across the continent by now and the two of them had no choice but to return ho to deal with the aftermath.

As for Eoryun Taeharin, he seed to have found soone from his "hotown."

That was what they overheard, though they had no idea how the young lord of a noble family from Haneulsong City could have any "hotown" connection with a flower.

Yet it was exactly because of this situation that Eoryun was prevented from continuing on with the journey.

The Ice Flower was in a crucial stage of transformation and could not leave the cold pond to travel to the sky race’s lands.

So Eoryun decided to remain in the demon realm as well.

As for the demons...

There was no need to even think about it.

They still had to handle the aftermath of the war and simply had no ti to stir up further trouble.

In the end, only two elves were left to head toward the territory of the sky race.

One of them was Illiya, who had no choice but to go, and the other was Drow, who would never leave Illiya’s side.

But this was understandable.

Illiya had left the Elven Forest for the sake of exploration, and nothing could stop his steps.

Not to ntion that now a "prophecy" had appeared, its truth uncertain. And this "prophecy" concerned matters of life and death for him.
