Just as Drow was starting to relax, he caught sight of the Yaguk Theocracy’s army acting strangely.

They were different from the others.

While the rest were there just to put on a show, the Yaguk Theocracy’s soldiers were clearly well-trained.

Every dodge they made was precise and asured, and they even seed to conserve energy, as though they intended to use it for sothing else later...

That was it!

Drow instantly beca alert. He imdiately dashed toward the direction of Yaguk Theocracy, shouting loudly, "Watch out for the people from Yaguk Theocracy! They are deceiving us!"

Of course, how could he have forgotten this?

Yaguk Theocracy had never made any diplomatic contact with the demons.

At that mont, Yaguk Theocracy officially launched their counterattack.

Their previously retreating army suddenly gained montum.

Magical energy surged as though it cost them nothing, flooding into their weapons, while enormous offensive magic arrays began to appear in the sky.

The demons were about to be caught completely off guard.

Fortunately, the demons participating in this battle were all extrely powerful.

Thanks to Drow’s warning, they were not utterly defeated by the ambush and managed to barely fend off this wave of attacks.

But Yaguk Theocracy’s second attack ca again.

The sudden strike from Yaguk Theocracy threw the demon ranks into imdiate disarray and even those overseeing the rear lines realized that sothing was wrong.

Yaguk Theocracy’s counterattack was far too unusual.

At this point, Sebastian also understood that things had taken an unpredictable turn.

There had to be sothing else going on that they were unaware of.

As he was deep in thought, his danger-sense flared up. He instinctively dodged an incoming attack, but before he could regain his footing, a barrage of densely packed strikes ca straight at him.

The sa was happening to the other elite demons.

Sebastian reacted quickly.

He imdiately understood what the attackers were trying to do and began moving toward the Demon King.

However, in that one mont of distraction, the enemy seized the opportunity and the danger surrounding the Demon King escalated further.

"Damn it...!"

The place that should have been the safest had now beco the most dangerous.

Illiya let out a bitter laugh.

He truly had not expected things to develop this way.

Faced with an attack that far exceeded his abilities, he imdiately made a decision.

There could be no harm done to Demon King Anos.

Otherwise, the entire balance of the continent would collapse into chaos.

No race could withstand the mad retaliation of the demons.

Having made up his mind, Illiya sighed.

He summoned his staff and used a forbidden spell of the elves by sacrificing his own life to activate it by force.

[ Do not use this unless absolutely necessary. ]

This was his teacher’s strict teaching.

But now, forced to the edge of desperation, he had no choice.

Illiya’s voice was cold and fierce. "This is absolutely not a place where you may act so wantonly!"

Drow, too, seed to sense that sothing was wrong in the rear lines.

As he turned around and saw the golden light flooding the sky, tears stread down his face.

But he knew, it was already too late.

"Illiya..."

"This prophecy sounds quite interesting. And when combined with Nueronist’s series of actions that are difficult to understand, I suddenly have a bold guess."

Illiya narrowed his eyes slightly, the golden light in his gaze dimd sowhat and the sharp glint that appeared within them was partially veiled.

"Nueronist, the leader of the Fallen, his behavior seems like he was looking for an opportunity to take revenge on his enemies, and rely failed in doing so. But it feels more like a kind of surrender to fate. As if, once upon a ti, they too tried to escape fate, but ended in total failure, and in the end, used their actions to prove the correctness of destiny. His behavior feels more like a pathetic kind of self-abandonnt."

Illiya muttered softly under his breath.

He had not understood before why the Yaguk Theocracy would suddenly connect and cooperate with the Fallen demons.

It no longer seed like a coincidence, but sothing deliberately orchestrated by the Fallen demons.

From the very beginning, Yaguk Theocracy had been a pawn on their board.

Whether or not the Fallen demons succeeded in their attempt to attack the Demon King today, in the end, the Yaguk Theocracy would inevitably pay the price for their betrayal of justice.

If the Demon King was successfully attacked, then no country on the continent would be able to withstand the insane retaliation from the demon race.

In the end, the seemingly victorious Yaguk Theocracy would surely face annihilation, perhaps in an extrely brutal fashion and completely disappearing from the stage of history.

And now, since the attack on the Demon King had failed, the shaless face of the Yaguk Theocracy had been revealed in public.

After the war, the other nations on the continent would certainly launch a crusade against them.

Compared to the forr scenario, the latter outco might seem slightly less terrible.

But only slightly.

Both paths ultimately led to the sa destination: the complete withdrawal of the Yaguk Theocracy from history.

The geopolitical structure of the continent would be reshuffled, no longer the five nations and three alliances, but instead four nations and three alliances.

This outco directly matched the so-called "prophecy."

If the "prophecy" was indeed accurate, then...

Illiya’s heart thumped heavily, his pulse quickened and suddenly, an idea surfaced in his mind.

An idea that seed unreliable at first but strangely felt like it was, in so way, the truth.

That is, if the "prophecy" was real, then the line "The twins of light and darkness, one dies, one is left alone" must be sothing that would happen either in the future or had already begun unfolding.

Illiya’s first thought was that this "twins of light and darkness" clearly referred to himself and Drow.

The two of them shared a soul-bonded relationship. If this prophecy pointed at anyone, it had to be the two of them. He could not think of any other pair who fit the description.
