For instance, take those two bumbling demons, Ke’Oth and N’zall.

Even though they’d lived for so long, they still believed this kind of brainwashing nonsense.

It was enough to make any elf want to scream.

And now, the Demon King of the Demon Realm, Anos, was amiably wrapping his arm around Illiya’s shoulders, asking him for a favor. He didn’t spell out exactly what he wanted, but Illiya knew full well.

How did Illiya end up in the Demon Realm, anyway? It all started after Ke’Oth and N’zall failed spectacularly at growing wheat.

It was enough to make him feel completely worn out and done with it all.

He, Illiya Faelorien, a pure-blooded elf with strong affinity with nature, had always been beloved by plants. BUT!

That didn’t an he actually knew how to plant anything!

Let him repeat it once more: not every elf knows how to plant! Elves have different roles, okay? He’d never been assigned to planting or caring for plants.

So he really, truly didn’t know how to farm! He wasn’t so miracle healer, either, so he couldn’t revive the wheat that had been frozen to death by ice flowers.

Let this cursed world just collapse already.

Inside, Illiya was screaming, but on the outside, he still wore that gentle, sunny smile, perfectly maintaining the image of a good and pure elf.

Because he had already realized one thing: people would only believe what they wanted to believe. So sotis, explaining things was just pointless.

Explaining would only make him frustrated. Staying silent at least saved him so effort.

No matter how he looked at it, silence was the better deal.

Anos had a big heart and didn’t seem to notice that the atmosphere around Illiya dropped sharply for a split second. Or maybe he had noticed, but just ignored it and blad it on the cold night air.

"Illiya, don’t worry! It’s really nothing major," Anos said confidently, thumping his chest. "You can ask Sebastian—I always keep my word."

Illiya didn’t particularly care about that point. Agreeing to help one person was no different than agreeing to help two. In the end, it was all the sa—nothing too difficult, anyway.

However, he was starting to question Sebastian’s motives.

According to Sebastian, the current Demon King didn’t have any sense of belonging to the Demon Realm. He treated the place like a task to complete, never showing any intention of staying. He was completely independent and did everything himself, giving everyone the illusion that he could just up and leave at any mont.

But after what Illiya had observed earlier, he ca to a conclusion that was exactly the opposite of what Sebastian had said. He thought the current Demon King actually had a strong sense of belonging to the Demon Realm. After all, no one would go to all the trouble of building up a place only to leave.

The idea that the Demon King had no attachnt to this world seed more like a cover story, or perhaps... it was just that the current living standards of the Demon Realm couldn’t offer what the Demon King wanted, so he was putting on a show of indifference.

As for not relying on the demons at all, that was just an overblown worry—like people inventing drama because they had too much ti on their hands. If he really didn’t rely on them, he wouldn’t be the first to reach out for help whenever a problem cropped up. If he didn’t care at all, he wouldn’t have bothered with any of the small hints or reminders.

How could the most powerful force in the Demon Realm possibly not notice soone approaching?

Clearly, he had already grown accustod to Anos’s presence and accepted him!

Illiya clicked his tongue in disgust. Damn this stupid master and servant duo. Please, get away from him—far away!

However, it was clear that neither party involved realized this. Since that was the case, Illiya chose not to be the bad guy and let them develop freely.

He had never realized how redundant he was until now.

Illiya forced a smile. "It’s fine. Anyway, elves have an affinity with nature, so it’s harmless to take a look."

Anos: ???

He felt sothing was off.

Just like that, the group, in grand fashion, began heading toward their destination, still with Sebastiang leading the way at the front.

After all, with the Demon King who had no sense of direction and the foreign guest, no one really knew where they should be going.

In fact, before Anos managed to catch up with the main group, they had already covered half the journey. If it weren’t for a few unexpected delays, they probably would have arrived at the destination long ago.

It wasn’t long before Sebastian ca to a stop.

Illiya looked around. There were only a few sparse trees here and there, and the land was barren—no grass at all, just yellow-brown dirt. Under the red moonlight of the demon realm, it all seed a little eerie and ominous.

So they were really going to stop here?

Illiya was puzzled.

Sebastian also surveyed the surroundings. Just as Illiya was about to ask what was going on, Sebastiang made his next move.

He watched as the white-haired demon standing with his back to them raised his arm, and his fingertips lightly touched the air. Black magic gathered at his fingertips. His hand began to move in a deliberate rhythm, tracing patterns in the air, with the black magic leaving its marks along his movents.

To use magic to draw a magic circle in mid-air with bare hands was no easy feat; so mages couldn’t even draw a functional magic circle on paper.

But for the white-haired demon, it seed as simple as eating or drinking. It didn’t even look like he was drawing in the air, but rather as if he was casually doodling on paper.

He moved with such ease and natural confidence.

Very quickly, the magic circle floating in the air took shape.
