Even the servers’ footsteps were barely audible.
It was hard to say how everyone else felt about the al, but for Anos, it was an incredibly uncomfortable experience. He felt like he was sitting on pins and needles, unable to stay still for long. Even when his favorite dishes were right in front of him, he had no appetite to enjoy them.
Trying to see how others were reacting, he lifted his head slightly—only to unexpectedly et the gaze of his beloved butler. Seeing the amusent in the butler’s eyes, Anos felt like a mischievous student caught by the headmaster, and he quickly dropped his head again, not daring to look around anymore.
Soone save him—why had he even decided to hold this banquet in the first place?
Thinking back on it now, it felt like he’d just created trouble for himself, making things even harder for his social-anxiety-prone self.
After that ti Anos raised his head, he never again secretly observed others, mainly because he was afraid of being discovered by "Head of Discipline" Sebastian.
After finishing this al without tasting anything, the demon palace servants cleaned up everything on everyone’s tables and then quickly left this place.
Now, there was no longer anything in the scene to use as an excuse to avoid others’ gazes.
Anos: "..."
Oh no.
Anos sat in the main seat, and everyone sitting below turned their heads to look at him, all waiting for this Demon King to give the next command.
Being stared at by so many people at once, Anos suddenly felt a mountain of pressure, his mind going completely blank. Even though he had planned out all the activities for the banquet beforehand, he couldn’t rember a single thing now.
This nervousness really couldn’t have co at a worse ti!
In his heart, a small Anos was pounding the ground, crying with frustration, feeling a strong sense of self-abandonnt.
He truly regretted it.
Not knowing what to say, the Demon King could only cast a pleading glance at the white-haired butler sitting at his right hand.
Hurry up, Sebastian, save , I really can’t rember anything now.
Please help !
Sebastian instantly caught the pleading gaze from his dear King, or rather, he had been waiting for this very mont.
Actually, before the banquet, the Demon King had discussed the post-banquet activities with him. The plan had been prepared long ago, and everything was arranged perfectly, to the point where he saw no flaw in it at all.
At the beginning of the banquet, he had even thoughtfully prepared a "cheat sheet" for the King to help introduce the guests, but he had mischievously downplayed the importance of the later part of the plan, drawing most of Anos’s attention to the banquet itself and making him temporarily forget about what ca after.
So, for the latter part, he hadn’t prepared any "cheat sheet" at all.
This wasn’t ant to embarrass His Majesty in front of everyone, but to satisfy a little selfish wish—to make His Majesty rely on them more.
From the very first day Anos had appeared, he had always been so tense, doing everything personally, and secretly hiding in corners, as if he was worried about sothing. Even the thick-headed Pinison had noticed this.
So much ti had passed, and they still had no way to handle it.
They had to make sure His Majesty remained unaware of their careful balancing act, and also maintain His Majesty’s "fragile" little heart.
It was truly too difficult, and they had no idea what to do. So, the demons, represented by him, and their newly-crowned King had been maintaining this strange balance for a long ti.
Actually, it wasn’t an accident that they appeared in front of these outsiders today—it was a long-planned move.
They had been waiting for this opportunity for a long ti, waiting for soone to co and break this balance.
Illiya and his companions fit their requirents perfectly.
First, Illiya and his friends had co to the demon realm with a purpose; second, the golden-haired elf had companions from the Areuseon Kingdom, who had always been good allies to the demon race; and third, they looked like reasonable people.
If he went to them for help, he would get a response without fearing betrayal. After all, elves despised political struggles the most, so they wouldn’t use this as an excuse to make a move, and the people from the Areuseon Kingdom—there was a friendship that had lasted for hundreds of years.
Taking advantage of a mont when the Demon King wasn’t paying attention, Sebastian had already contacted these visitors.
Sebastian curved his lips into a pleasant smile, and he winked at the anxious Demon King to reassure him. Then, in the King’s blind spot, he made a hand gesture to the golden-haired elf sitting across from him—a prearranged sign that everything was in place.
Anos knew nothing about their little gestures, he still imrsed in the relief of his butler coming to help him out of this tight spot.
He cleared his throat a couple of tis, putting on an air of composure, doing his best to keep his tone from sounding too smug. "Ahem, next, I’ll let my butler lead you through the upcoming activities."
After finishing, he added, "You should know, we’ve arranged many activities for you, so you can fully understand what the new demon realm looks like. It may not match the main continent, but compared to the previous demon realm, it’s already a huge improvent."
Sebastian who is smiling with narrowed eyes, followed up on Anos’ words. "That’s all thanks to His Majesty’s leadership. So now, let guide you."
In fact, after leaving the illusion created by Sage Miletus, Illiya had woken up once. Just as he woke up, there was a knock on his door.
At the mont he heard the knock on the door, Illiya’s heart tightened involuntarily. He couldn’t help but wonder who it might be; surely Sage Miletus wouldn’t be so bored as to pay him a visit in person?
