"Brandon Jiang?"

Chu Jun's puzzled voice ca from inside the room, followed by:

"Co in first."

As soon as the words fell, the courtyard door slowly opened.

Brandon Jiang respectfully acknowledged and walked into the house.

The room was filled with the scent of herbs. Chu Jun's wounds were wrapped in bandages, and she had changed into new clothes.

Even though she had received so treatnt, her aura was still weak, and her delicate face was extrely pale.

Her expression remained as calm and wooden as ever, as she asked:

"Brandon Jiang, what brings you here?"

Brandon Jiang didn't speak. He gently patted his storage bag, summoning ninety dicinal puppets and placing them in front of the sowhat confused Chu Jun.

Then, he respectfully said:

"Today was my first alchemy class. If I hadn't learned so knowledge from you, I wouldn't have even gotten a C-grade evaluation."

"These ninety dicinal puppets are all the rewards I received for getting a B-grade evaluation. Please accept them to aid in your recovery."

After realizing he couldn't afford alchemy books, Brandon Jiang changed his plan.

If he couldn't acquire alchemy knowledge, he would get close to soone who had it.

Among the people he knew, only Senior Sister Chu Jun seed willing to teach others alchemy.

Since he currently didn't need to consu people for cultivation, he decided to take a chance with these ninety dicinal puppets.

If successful, he would have a lifeline in Patricia Qing's class.

However, the possibility of failure was high. He didn't know what kind of person Chu Jun was. If she refused, that was one thing, but if she accepted the puppets and still didn't teach him alchemy, he couldn't fight her and would have to accept his loss.

Brandon Jiang was gambling.

Gambling everything for his life!

Chu Jun looked at the dicinal puppets in front of her and, after a mont of silence, seriously said:

"Brandon Jiang, I've completely fallen out with Patricia Qing. From now on, I probably won't be able to get a C-grade or higher evaluation, so these ninety dicinal puppets are very important to . I really want them."

"But you need to think it through. If it gets out that you gave resources for healing, Patricia Qing will be displeased with you, and you might end up like ."

Without hesitation, Brandon Jiang smiled faintly and said:

"Thank you for your concern, Senior Sister, but I was prepared for this when I stepped through this door."

Chu Jun was slightly taken aback:

"Brandon Jiang..."

"Senior Sister, please don't try to dissuade . I won't take these dicinal puppets back."

Brandon Jiang waved his hand, his tone resolute.

Then, he sighed regretfully:

"It's just a pity that my alchemy skills are not good enough to consistently get B or A grades and provide you with a steady supply of dicinal puppets for healing."

"And that old witch Patricia Qing, so intolerant. It's really unfair for you to be under her thumb, Senior Sister Chu Jun..."

"Brandon Jiang, stop talking. Be careful, walls have ears..."

Chu Jun hurriedly stopped him, but her gaze towards Brandon Jiang softened considerably.

Seeing this, Brandon Jiang felt reassured.

When he decided to cozy up to Chu Jun, he had already betrayed Patricia Qing.

Although Patricia Qing was clearly the more powerful of the two, her dominance made it impossible for him to get close to her.

In contrast, Chu Jun was less narrow-minded, socially naive, and currently in a crisis, making her easier to approach.

As for the things he said in Chu Jun's room today, he did it on purpose.

Loyalty that isn't absolute is absolutely disloyal.

By leaving himself vulnerable, he could make Chu Jun trust him more. And it seed to be working perfectly!

Chu Jun hesitated slightly and said:

"Brandon Jiang, thank you for helping . I'm very happy."

"How about this: I'll teach you alchemy knowledge, and when you get B or A grades in Patricia Qing's class, you give ... ten percent of the resources."

Hearing this, Brandon Jiang was overjoyed. This was exactly why he wanted to get close to Chu Jun, and she had offered it herself.

What an easy woman to deal with.

But on the surface, he remained serious and solemnly said:

"Ten percent is not enough. From now on, I'll give you fifty percent of all my evaluation rewards!"

"No, even fifty percent is not enough. You urgently need resources for healing. I'll give you all the resources I get for now!"

"Please don't refuse, Senior Sister, or it will only make feel worse."

"Brandon Jiang..."

Chu Jun was touched. In all her years in the Cultivation World, she had never felt cared for or looked after.

People had tried to cozy up to her before, but they were always looking to take advantage of her.

In her current situation, anyone else would use healing resources as leverage to extract more benefits from her.

But Brandon Jiang was willing to give up all his resources for her healing, even at the cost of his own cultivation.

Chu Jun knew she was socially awkward, but she could tell the difference between genuine and fake intentions.

However, she was puzzled. She had only t Brandon Jiang today; why was he being so kind to her?

Could it be...

Chu Jun's delicate face turned slightly red as she shyly asked Brandon Jiang:

"Brandon Jiang, do you... like ?"

In the Heavenly Lotus Sect, there were no n, and it was common for won to beco Dao companions.

As far as Chu Jun knew, only Dao companions or family mbers would be so unconditionally good to soone.

"What?"

Brandon Jiang blinked, looking at Chu Jun's shy expression, completely stunned.

Senior Sister Chu Jun, do you have a misunderstanding about feelings?

I was just being a little nice to you; you don't need to fall in love with .

This situation was completely unexpected for Brandon Jiang.

His mind raced as he quickly thought of a counterasure.

If he agreed, he would gain a Dao companion out of nowhere.

A quick look at bit.ly/3iBfjkV will leave you more fulfilled.

If he refused, Chu Jun might get angry and kick him out, which would be disastrous.

After much thought, Brandon Jiang finally ca up with a not-so-great solution.

He looked up, gazing into Chu Jun's beautiful eyes with a mix of seriousness and self-deprecation, and bitterly smiled:

"Senior Sister, you have a noble character and stunning beauty. Which girl wouldn't like you?"

"But you are like a fairy in the sky, and I am like dust on the ground. The gap between us is like heaven and earth. How dare I reach for you?"

"Maybe only when I reach the peak of Qi Refining will I have the courage to take that step."

Hearing Brandon Jiang's heartfelt yet restrained confession, Chu Jun couldn't help but clutch her clothes tightly, her gaze softening as she said:

"Brandon Jiang, don't worry. As long as I can get through this ordeal, I will help you reach the peak of Qi Refining as soon as possible!"

"Then, we can beco Dao companions."

Brandon Jiang imdiately showed a look of joy, nodding quickly while feeling relieved inside.

He had managed to get through it and even gained more favor.

Now, he and Chu Jun were on the sa boat, and all of Chu Jun's knowledge could be used for his benefit.

"Senior Sister, let's not talk about this for now. You should focus on healing."

Brandon Jiang quickly urged.

Chu Jun nodded, reaching for a dicinal puppet and using it as a sacrificial furnace to absorb its energy.

Streams of spiritual energy descended from the sky, and Chu Jun's face gradually regained its color.

Chu Jun looked at Brandon Jiang tenderly and said:

"Brandon Jiang, co join ."

Brandon Jiang waved his hand:

"Senior Sister, you go ahead. I told you these are for you. I can't take them from you."

"Watching you absorb spiritual energy is enough for . Just seeing you is already very satisfying."
