Warren reminded Victor a bit of himself, but Warren was also foolish.
Warren was unknowingly throwing himself right into the arms of death.
Regardless of how much Warren amused Victor, Victor wouldn’t allow anyone to take money from him and not pay it back. He certainly wouldn’t allow Warren to have Edgar co after him.

Warren looked at the paper, which had nothing on it. Was he to write everything this man ntioned?

Victor smiled. He liked it when soone carelessly made deals with him. He already knew that he was going to end up owning Warren at so point in the future, but he was open to Warren surprising him by getting Penelope here.
"Sign it," said Victor.
"There is nothing written and nothing to write with," Warren said, looking around for what he would use.

Warren stood up, but his hand was still grabbed and carelessly cut with the knife. His thumb was then pressed against the blank paper.
