At the Monroe mansion, Quinn walked slowly, enjoying his stroll as he went in search of Cassius. There was hell outside, but Quinn was calm since it wasn’t near the end of his story yet.

Quinn entered the room he had assigned to Cassius without knocking and found Cassius fast asleep with bottles of rum on his bed.

Quinn walked over to the bed and dragged the blanket so Cassius would slip onto the floor.

Cassius woke up, angry that his sleep was disturbed. "Who told you- Brother," he cald himself.

"Was that how you were going to speak to the maid? You’ve been drinking like there’s sothing on your mind. Tell , what is it?" Quinn asked, walking further into the room.

"Nothing. I rely had a bad night and got carried away. I didn’t touch anything belonging to you," Cassius swore.

Cassius soon ca out of his tired state and stood up to face Quinn.

Since Quinn ca to his room, Cassius knew he was in trouble, but he couldn’t think of what it was.

"I know you didn’t touch my rum. I have mine sealed away so it cannot be used when you want to drown yourself in rum. There must be sothing you have done wrong for you to drink away your sorrows last night. Is it because you cooked again?" Quinn asked.

"No, brother. I spoke with the n you wanted to, and they were so boring that I needed a drink when I ca ho. They are not easy to speak with. I hope you may forgive for my state," Cassius said, still thinking there was sothing more.

"I cannot forgive you when you hide a secret from . Dress yourself better since we have guests. It appears the king and duke are at our gates seeking an audience with us. We cannot keep them waiting," Quinn said, folding his arms as he waited for Cassius to start moving.

Cassius was surprised to hear they had visitors. "I didn’t lead them here. I would have noticed soone following and gotten rid of them. I’ve been throwing off the n the prince and duke had following ."

"Well, now they’ve caught up to you. Get dressed. You know how I hate to be late entertaining our guests. While you get dressed, I want to think about what you could have possibly done to have them at my gate," said Quinn.

Quinn was certain it wasn’t anything he had done to have the king co to his ho. Surely, the duke hadn’t figured out who he was yet.

Cassius stared into the distance without a single thought in his mind. He truly hadn’t done anything wrong.

"Co as you are. They will believe when I say that you are a ss," Quinn said, leading the way out of the room.

Cassius remained still for a mont before he started to follow Quinn.

Why weren’t they gathering their own followers to fight against the king?

Why was Quinn so calm?

’What is he doing?’ Cassius wondered.

"Brother," Cassius spoke up. "Are you going to let them take ?"

Quinn looked to his right. "Why would I need to do such a thing? Again, I ask you, what have you done wrong?"

"Nothing," Cassius replied.

"I think the better-suited answer is to say you do not know. You are too useful to to just be taken. Relax, Cassius. This is part of the show," Quinn said, enjoying himself. "If only they would storm the gates so that I may shoot them."

Cassius didn’t trust Quinn. He only believed that Quinn wouldn’t let him out of his sight because Cassius knew too many secrets.

Cassius knew where all the current victims were held, where the past victims were discarded, who would be next, and all the cris Quinn committed before they reached this point.

Cassius reached the front doors after Quinn, and once they were open, he realised the trouble which had found its way to their ho.

They were surrounded by more than what looked to be palace guards. There were knights and other n Cassius couldn’t point out from where he stood.

Cassius was even more certain now that this didn’t co from any fault of his. He hadn’t done anything to warrant this response.

All the bodies Cassius got rid of showed no clues that they ca from this ho.

"Brother-"

"Don’t say anything. Just go take care of it. I don’t have any ti for this when we are in the midst of moving. Can I trust you to scare them away?" Quinn asked, motioning for Cassius to go ahead.

"I will try my best," Cassius replied, tidying his appearance as he walked forward. "I will- Quinn!" Cassius exclaid, his eyes widening after he looked back to speak to Quinn.

Cassius found himself staring right at the muzzle of Quinn’s gun.

Cassius’s lips parted as he readied himself to plead his case, but without giving him the rcy to defend himself, Quinn shot Cassius between the eyes.

Quinn watched as Cassius’s body fell. He knew exactly what the king and others ca for since he kept track of the things Cassius did.

The king was here to take soone away, and unfortunately for Cassius, that person had to be him. Cassius was too easy to scare for Quinn to let him go to the king alive.

All of Quinn’s plans would be ruined if he let Cassius out of his sight.

Quinn stared at Cassius’s lifeless body. He thought he would be a bit emotional to see the last person he called family die, but he was more upset that he had to find soone else to do the work Cassius did.

"What a sha," Quinn said, putting away his gun.

Quinn looked ahead at the gates where unwelcod guests broke through his gates.

"They wouldn’t like it if I did this," Quinn said, but he smiled.

It was all exciting to see such powerful n coming just to see him.

As the palace guard flooded his land, Quinn’s n ca out to protect him.

Quinn tucked his gun away so they knew he wasn’t a threat, but rather an eager host.

Quinn’s smile widened when he noticed it was the infamous trio. The king, the commander, and the duke.

"Gentleman," Quinn greeted the trio with his arms wide open. "Surely you know this isn’t the way to co onto soone’s land."

Tobias was the first one to stop and look down at the dead body.

"Who is it?" Tobias asked the others.

"Cassius," Edgar replied, looking Quinn dead in the eye. "You shot your brother."

"Of course I did. He did sothing wrong," Quinn answered.
