Yakov was just this kind of man, though he looked gentle and smiled at her more often when compared to others...he was the one who was more ruthless than others, he was soone who would turn a blind eye to everything and everyone if soone was useful to him but if not —— as the heir of the Sceptre family, Yakov grew up with a strong sense of responsibility. To him nothing was more important than the responsibilities that were his to answer, wasn’t it because of his responsibilities that he was willing to look for a replacent for the Queen? He was the kind of man who placed his responsibilities, rules and law above everything else including his mate. In fact, it would be proper to say that he was the one who was the most ruthless among all, for the sake of the ’greater good’ he would be willing to sacrifice anything and anyone.

But this shouldn’t be applicable to her! She was the female lead of this world, the leading lady ...as her future lover and husband, Yakov’s first priority should have been her. So, why? Why was he looking at her like she was so annoying bug that he has to take care of?

With her entire body trembling, Harley looked at Yakov before looking around her —— only when she made sure that no one was listening to her, did she turn her head and looked at the man in front of her. " You can’t do this to , this is not sothing that you should be saying to !"

" Why?" This ti Yakov was genuinely curious, why was it that Harley thought that no matter how much trouble she made, he will always support her? From where exactly was she getting this confidence? He couldn’t understand it. He might have treated her as if she was special but that was only to the point where she understood what she was and why he brought her to the palace, other than that he has hardly t with her..so why in the world, did she believe that he was responsible for her to the point where he wouldn’t turn his back on her. This confidence should have so sort of firm base right? He lightly glanced at her and when she didn’t say anything, he smiled politely before looking around, only when he was sure that no one was looking did he take a step closer to Harley and said, " I am sure that I have told you this before, in fact, I told this to you when I t you—- but since you are having a hard ti understanding it, I will tell you again, I am not yours to keep and you are not mine to keep... from the beginning you were just a replacent that I picked up from the side of the road and that too because you looked pitiful, if you dare to say any nonsense from now on, I will make sure you understand what happens to replacents that do not understand their positions."

With that, he took a step forward intending to walk away from Harley but the latter simply stretched out her arm and stopped him. " You can’t throw away, first consort."

Seeing her courage, Yakov’s lips curled up into a derisive smile. " Why? Do you think that you are that important?"

Of course, she was that important, she was the leading lady of this world. However, this ti Harley didn’t explode on the spot like she would have instead she smiled as she whipped in front of Yakov and smiled, her smile matching his. This ti she instinctively knew, what she had to do to make Yakov look at her " I don’t know whether I am important or not but I do know that the Empress doesn’t know your complete plan... she might have an inkling that you were planning to de coup the throne but she doesn’t know that you also had a secondary plan ... a plan to capture and lock her away from the rest of the world."

This ti Yakov’s smile dropped as his gaze turned sombre, seeing the changes in his expression, Harley’s smile widened and she placed her hands at the back of her waist. " I bet if the Dragon Queen by any chance finds out that you and the other consorts had the plan to clip her wings and tie her in a closed space, she won’t be looking at you favourably anymore. I an she doesn’t really look at you favourably currently but at least she is willing to maintain a cordial front in front of others, if she was to find out about how sick you are in your head ... I believe that she wouldn’t be willing to even look at your face."

Her nose twitched as she took a sharp intake of Yakov’s alpha vibes but except for clenching her fists, she made no other monts. It was as if his alpha vibes hardly bothered her, instead, she took a brave step forward and then looked at him with eyes lit up with amusent. " Imagine if I slip up and tell her about everything from de coup to you locking an alpha female like her in solitary confinent, would she still look at you in the eye? I don’t think so, she will definitely keep her distance from you because unlike who likes you as a whole, she only likes the persona that you have shown her."

" Are you threatening ?" Yakov’s lips had long gone down, now he was staring at Harley with a fury as if he wanted to eat her alive. " You should know that I don’t react kindly towards those who try to threaten ."

" I know, but I also know that you cannot kill ," Harley tilted her head to the side and turned around to see whether anyone was looking in their direction or not, once she was sure that no one was there... she stepped bravely in front of Yakov. " You know what I want first consort," with her hand placed on his chest, Harley curled her lips. " I will wait for you behind the small pond at the east, co there...I bet I will be more one than the Dragon queen."
