Neriah had no idea how she had made it through that night, but she had. He hadn’t teased her further, neither had he asked for anything more. He just hadn’t let her go, remaining in that position buried deeply in his arms. Of course even that much skinship was too much for Neriah and she had tried to fight from his hold but had quickly realized it was in her own best interest to remain still.

So, still she remained, like the log of wood she had said she was. And at one point she had fallen asleep. She had woken up to the pleasant sll of food in the room and saw him seated at the table, as per her stubborn self she had refused to have breakfast with him and only ate after he left the room.

Just like that another day on the ship slowly passed away, and so did the night, just like the one before.

Clouds rolled by and the sun gave in to the moon repeatedly, and soon it had already been five days since she’d been on the ship. Her daily routine remained simple. Wake up, bathe, eat and spend ti in her room with Aria and Riri and when the night ca, she knew he’d co and he’d do nothing more than hold her to sleep like he had been doing.

They argued still, one of their many argunts was about the distance of Trago. In all sincerity, she had expected it to be no more than a three day journey. But she had asked him one afternoon why they weren’t at his barbaric ho yet and he had scoffed and told her that if she had out more effort into learning real facts about the ho of the man she was being married to, rather than amassing false knowledge of him and his people, the shed have known that it took three weeks to get to Trago, and two and half weeks of the sea was calm and peaceful.

His reply had vexed her deeply and she had insulted and yelled, screaming that if his ho was a peaceful and beautiful place like all other elven kingdoms, then it would not be so far away from other normal kingdoms. But he had called her ignorant and foolish and the matter only escalated.

They had argued bitterly that afternoon yet when the night ca and he had returned to their cabin, he had held her in his arms just like he had been doing and albeit unintentionally, she had nestled in his arms.

"My Lady, my dear beautiful princess," Aria was at it again. "Your Highness, Princess Neriah, the bright little star of Avelah, the apple of the eye of the goddess," flattering Neriah with the sweetest words she could conjure.

"The afternoon sun shines for your sake, the waves of the sea roar in anticipation of catching a glimpse of your beauty, the wind whispers to you, calling out your na over and over," and all for what? What was all the flattery for?

"Will you not co out today?" All to get Neriah to step out of the room. "Co on, my Lady, you are like the sun, you shine bright in the day. You should not be hid. You should be out in the open. You cannot remain in this room for three weeks. I fear you will run mad." Aria continued.

It had already been five days since they began their journey, today made it six and Neriah was yet to step out of the cabin. Not even once. Aria had tried every persuasion trick possible but the young princess was just adamant. All she did was sleep, wake up, bathe, eat, play with so writings and then start the whole thing from the top.

It was so unlike her. She was soone who hated being kept indoors, Aria knew this more than anyone. So it really stressed her that her mistress refused to go out.

"You cannot remain this way, my lady. What will beco of you if you keep spending your days like this? I fear that you have given up on life and I fear your next move and—" Aria just didn’t understand what more she could do. Neriah’s behavior made it seem like she cared for nothing anymore. So it scared her

Aria feared that she might enter the cabin one day and find her mistress had committed an unforgivable sin against her husband, or against her own self.

"Ugh," she shook her head, a shiver ran down her spine at the thought of what Neriah could actually do.

"And also, frankly speaking it does not sound right that you have not paid your father-in-law a visit since you married. The people on the ship whisper, My Lady. I hear their voices go lower when I enter the room. Of course I fight for My Lady’s honor but there is not much I can do when what they whisper and mutter about is true." What more did she have to say to make the woman get out of the room!

People were already talking bad about her, calling her a mad villainess who was rude because she was yet to go greet the King, who was the father of her husband, and Aria hated to agree with them but they were right. It was wrong.

"What is the point of greeting a father-in-law I never wished for?" Neriah shrugged and continued writing only the goddess knew what! Aria could feel her head aching a million tis harder now. What was she to do with her?!

"My Lady, just—"

"Where is Riri?" Neriah who seed to suddenly notice that the little fairy had at so point disappeared asked.

"Ah, uh_ well uh, I_ I do not know of her whereabouts." Aria lied. She very well knew the current location of the foolish fairy.

Neriah’s brows narrowed and dropped the quill pen back into the ink, "She has gone to him, has she not?" She calmly asked and all Aria could do was smile and chuckle nervously. And Neriah needed no elaboration than that.
