With one hand pretending to be loosening the thin rope at his neck, her other hand slowly reached her calf where her dagger was, but the door suddenly burst open and both their heads turned towards the now opened door.

Standing there was a tall figure covered from head to toe in black cloth. A man, she could tell. But who was he? One of Lyle’s n?

"What audacity!" Lyle scread. Clearly it wasn’t his man.

"Who are you? How dare you barge in here like this! Do you know who I am?" Lyle yelled angrily. "Who are you? A common thief? Or an assassin? Whichever you are, it would be in your best interest to walk out of here right now or face my wrath!"

For so reason, Neriah felt like the intruder had his eyes on her. Why? If he was here for Lyle, why was he staring at her like he knew her?

Those eyes...

Why did they look familiar?

The sound of a sword being unsheathed drew Neriah out of her thoughts and she instantly jumped off Lyle’s body, pulling out her dagger from her calf as she did.

Whoever he was, Neriah was not going to die before killing Lyle.

"Foolish peasant!" Lyle yells as he reaches for his sword only to stumble backwards as the unknown individual swings his bigger sword in Lyle’s direction.

"You fool! I have n in this building." Lyle continues screaming. Neriah held up her knife, caring less about the man who was clearly here for Lyle’s head, all she wanted to do was strike Lyle. But then Lyle whistled and n ca pouring into the room from all corners, distracting her from her purpose yet again.

In an instant, the room is filled with more n, dividing Neriah and Lyle from the man in black.

Suddenly, Lyle grabbed onto her wrist tightly. Neriah could figure out what he was thinking at the mont. She could tell he was probably planning to run away with her at the first chance of escape he got.

Neriah thought about her odds while the big man in black was swinging his sword around and slicing down Lyle’s n. If she stabbed Lyle right now, the possibility that she would not work out of here alive was very high considering the current situation.

But then with the way the fight was unfolding before her eyes, she could also see that it was only a matter of ti before the man in black finish off all Lyle’s n and then co for his own him.

Neriah did not want him dead by the hands of another. No, she wanted her revenge badly. So what was she supposed to do?

She would stab him here and now. Death fkr her and her child seed inevitable at this stage. So Neriah was going to kill stab Lyle...

However, by the ti she reached this conclusion, Lyle’s hand that was upon her wrist has been severed from the other part of his body. Blood splash onto her cloths and face and she stared at her wrist in a daze.

The hand still held her wrist, but it was no longer joined to his body. It had been severed from his wrist, leaving Lyle screaming in pain as blood spewed out like a fountain.

Before Neriah could accept what just happened, she was picked up by the huge man and thrown over his shoulder.

And it was starting to dawn on her that perhaps, this tall man in black was not here for Lyle.

Maybe, maybe she was his target from the very beginning.

"Get him! Ahhh! Ahh! My hand!" Lyle screams pulled Neriah to reality. She was being takilem away to only the gods know where! She was yet to kill Lyle! She could not leave before that.

"NOOOOOOO!!!" She scread and scread, instantly slamming on his back and shoulders as she finally realized her situation. "No! I haven’t done what I ca for!!!"

"My hand! Get that bastard! Ahh!" The cries of Lyle mixed with her own, but they both scread for different purposes.

"Let go!! No! You don’t understand, I have to go back! No! Let go you bastard! I will kill you! I will kill you, you bastard let go!" She scread and cried hot tears in anger as she was being carried away like a bag of potatoes.

"Ahhh! Lyle! You bastard! I will kill you!! I will kill you I swear it! I promise to kill you! Lyle!! No you bastard! Let go of !" One would not know for certain whom she desired to kill, was it Lyle, the man she scread for, or was it the man who carried her like she was hunted ga.

"Who are you? Let go! Let go of now!! Who paid you? Put down right now! Do you know who I am!" She scread and scread without thinking. She was only spouting nonsense because of anger.

Suddenly she felt him jump only to land heavily on the ground, his shoulder pressed into her stomach as he did that and she thought of her child. Even though the Lepron shield was still intact, she was still scared of hurting her baby.

It was really funny, one mont she was thinking of ending her life and taking her child with her, then the next she was worried about the child. She was a mixture of uncertain and confused emotions.

"You bastard! Stop hitting my stomach! And put down." She scread.

Neriah had finally had enough and was about to stab the man in the back with her dagger which she still held firmly in her hand, but then abruptly, she was brought down from his shoulder and tossed face-flat onto sothing new.

Before she could try to slide down from what she was realizing was a horse, he already climbed up next to her, readjusted her position and the horse was moving.
