"That is strange. I expected it to have improved since you t Barak." Bashan said with his hand stroking his chin.

"How so?" Neriah lifted her head with curiosity. "How does eting Barak concern the improvent of my powers?" She asked with her brows cringed. She could not see the connection. What did Barak have to do with her powers?

"Well actually, ah-hem," He was suddenly clearly his throat over and over again, staring at his wife. "My love, I do not think it would be right for to say this, why don’t you explain it to her." Bashan said between clenched teeth like he was whispering a loud secret.

What in the world did he want to say?

"Oh, oh, right." Rakavi nodded and chuckled at her husband’s discomfort in bringing up whatever words he was trying to explain.

"You see Neriah, dragonbloods like us have what is called a fire core. It is sothing that flows within us like blood flows within people."

"You an you do not have blood?" Neriah asked as she was getting more confused.

"Wha— No, no hah," Rakavi laughed, "that is not what I ant. I an this fire core flows in our body along with the blood in our veins." She explains and Neriah nods.

"Now, this fire core acts as a er, how do I explain this..." She paused as if looking for the right words.

"Boosters." Bashan helped.

"Ah, yes. Boosters, a sort of energizer if you please, a stimulant of sorts."

"You an like a catalyst?" Neriah asked.

"Exactly! Brilliant, my dear. That is the word. A catalyst. The fire core acts as a catalyst that encourages and speeds up the process of things. Which is why he believes your powers should have increased after eting Barak since the fire core should have boosted and help your powers to improve." Rakavi explains.

Neriah was still deeply confused. How did the fire core in another person’s body affect her?

"Forgive , Your Majesty—"

"Mother."

"Yes, forgive mother, I do not understand. Does being around Barak an the fire core would boost my powers? Because I do not see how it would affect if I did not drink his blood or sothing like that." She was sincerely confused.

"Explain it better to her, my dear." Bashan whispered.

Rakavi smiled, her smile seed strained. "Neriah my dear, you do not need to drink his blood. You are not a blood sucking demon. You are his wife. And as such, you will undoubtedly receive the fire from him. He would have shared it with you. In fact to be precise we all know he had shared it with you even before the marriage. And he must have shared it many tis after that." She smiled with her eyes closed.

"Before the marriage? Many tis after?" Neriah repeated her words. Dear goddess was she the idiot or was the queen not explaining in a manner she could understand?! What was she trying to say? When did Barak ever share anything like a fire core with her?

"Your Majes— I an, Mother, I have not received anything from him. I do not—"

"It can be shared through lovemaking Neriah." The words ca out and at first Neriah did not hear them well so she spoke...

"Mother I understand that but—WHAT?!" and now the words were sinking in deep and her neck was getting so, so, so red.

"Aye, you finally get it. When you make love and he shares his hm-hmm-hmm with you, he is irrevocably sharing his fire core with you." Rakavi opened up, trying to hold back so words.

"And seeing that he marked you on your first night, he must have shared a lot of his fire core with you. And since you’ve both been married for over three months now, I want to believe you have continuously been at it like rabbits. Which ans you have received enough fire core to boost your powers to its peak. The more you do it the more your body receives the power core, the more you are strengthened."

By the ti Rakavi finished her explanation, Neriah was the color of a red bell pepper.

"So as long as you have been doing it constantly, it seems unlikely that your powers remain unimproved." She spoke like she was sowhat worried but Neriah was embarrassed beyond words. And so so shy. She wanted to just disappear! Like just snap her fingers and find herself back in her room.

No, she might et Barak there. She could not et him in this state. She wanted to just dive into the ocean that was beyond the walls of Trago. She would just dive in and never resurface.

"Neriah, I knew you would feel embarrassed that is why I did not wish to spell out the words." Rakavi chuckled while Bashan just tried to hold his laugh in.

"Just think of it as talking about these sorts of things with your parents. We are your parents here, right?" She said between muffled laughs." There is nothing to be embarrassed or shy about in front of your parents."

Well she never discussed these sorts of things with her parents! Why would she talk about things like this with her parents?! The only thing close to this that she had ever talked to her mother about was because it was a compulsory topic for her teaching when she was growing up. And she was not this embarrassed!!

Neriah suddenly rose to her feet. And before they could even ask why she stood, she took to the hills without a single word to them.

Their warm familial laughter followed her along with so words of encouragent, telling her not to fall as she ran and to try and run with the dignity of a princess. They truly were the parents of her husband, Neriah thought as she ran away from them. They all knew how to make her flush like a fool and leave her highly embarrassed.
