"Dinner is ready," Yera said as soon as she ca inside their bedroom. She saw her husband sitting on the bed with his laptop on the lap.
"What’s wrong?" Yera asked, seeing the weary and serious face of her husband.
Xander sighed and said, "I feel bad for Rui. I an, he just managed to win Cali’s heart and this freaking black rose, he just happened to pick Cali as the next target. I’m checking out the incidents about this matter, but the case is highly classified and confidential..."
"I’m sure Candice will solve everything soon. We don’t need to worry too much about it. Why don’t we help Rui and Cali to loosen up a bit. Later, let’s have so fun and talk about good things during dinner. Our security is everywhere, so Cali will be safe and sound here. Let’s go now and have dinner with them..."
They were about to go out when Xander’s mobile phone rang and it was Candice.
"Tell Rui to treat to a nice al. The case is solved, and I have nabbed the culprit." Candice said.
"Oh, wait... Don’t tell him. I will personally co there to break the news and join you guys for dinner. Also... I miss you a lot too, handso Dr. CEO." Candice muttered seductively before the call ended.
"Seriously?" Xander broke into a cold sweat... with a weird expression pasted on his face that made Yera burst into laughter. Candice would never back down from teasing this one-woman man.
Candice was a pro in turning the peaceful life of theirs into a chaos whenever she was around.
After half an hour...
Candice barged inside Rui’s house and sat directly on a chair close to Xander. He suddenly stood up from his place and scurried away to sit near his possessive wife, who had her eyes pointed at him every ti.
Xander then inhaled deeply and opened his mouth to ask her what happened, but Candice simply raised her hand and said, "No talking while I eat. I’m gonna start eating now and whoever talks in between... will face my wrath!!" He instantly closed his mouth and gulped his words back down his throat! This devil was really scary when she was in a foul mood.
There was only silence spread at Rui’s long table as everyone was watching Candice eat like she was starving for months. Rui shook his head helplessly. If he rembered correctly, Candice was gone for three days. Did she starve for all those three days?
Cali, on the other hand, was the only person who felt so perplexed by the situation. So, all of them were connected to Candice? Xander and Yera as well? Because it looked like everyone knew each other for a long ti already.
Finally, Candice finished eating and drank several glasses of water before she looked at Rui and said slowly, "Edward... It was Edward..."
"What?!" Both Cali and Rui yelled in chorus as they couldn’t hide their shock.
"Yeah... Don’t worry. He won’t be a danger to you anymore, as I have already taken care of him." Candice said to Cali. Then she turned her head, looked at Rui, and asked innocently, "Do you have a spare room for to sleep?"
"What?!" This ti it was Xander and Rui who yelled in chorus with a shocked look plastered all over their faces.
"What? Are you two deaf?!" Candice impatiently grunted, making Rui and Xander both shut their mouth to avoid annoying her.
Cali looked at Yera, who signaled her to concentrate on eating.
Rui cleared his throat and said, "Yes, I have one room... I will have it ready for you for the night."
Candice’s eyebrows lifted as she murmured, "But I’m not staying only for the night. You owe , you know... I don’t want to return to country V yet, so let hide here for a while."
"What’s going on? Is there a problem?" Xander asked with knitted brows.
Candice pouted her lips and looked both at Yera and Cali as she mumbled, "Please let stay in your house for now? I promise I will behave and will definitely not crawl on the bed of either of your n at night..."
Cali’s face reddened while Yera ended up bursting into a fit of laughter. Yera was already used to Candice’s playful personality and language, so it was nothing new to her. She was just like that. She loved to act like she was an antagonist in so movies, but in reality, this woman had a golden heart.
"Candice... You have a den all over the world! What’s wrong with you? Can’t you see that we are both couples staying here who want so privacy?" Xander chided her.
"But, it’s the only place he can’t enter... Anyway, it’s okay if you don’t want to stay here. I shall probably look for a more suitable place and hide there..." Candice murmured with a pouty face and dropped shoulders.
Yera chuckled and said, "I’m sure Rui and Cali won’t mind you staying here for a few days."
"Yeah, it’s okay. Besides, you helped us out, although I’m still a bit confused about what is going on. I’m in awe, to be honest. Why would Edward do that? Was it because I rejected him?" Cali asked out of curiosity.
"Hmm, no, it wasn’t about that, but it’s quite a complicated story. I heard it’s not good for you to think too much. I suggest you not to worry anymore. Edward is now in the custody and it’s where he should belong. It’s not about you rejecting him. He’s just a psycho." Candice explained nonchalantly.
The evening went well and Rui went back to his room as soon as he showed Candice the room she could use.
anwhile, Cali was in a dilemma walking from one corner to another inside her own room. She wondered if it would be okay for her to crossover to Rui’s room to sleep at night. She suddenly felt shy because Xander and Yera were married, so it was natural for them to sleep together, but she and Rui were just in a relationship.
She suddenly beca conscious of what Rui’s friends would think of her if they found out that she often slept with Rui.
"They will probably think I’m too easy..." she whispered to herself as she laid down on her bed lazily and tried to go to sleep. She was starting to doze off when she almost jumped on her bed because she heard soone knocking on her door.
