"Ouch!" Cali cried out in pain after she pinched herself on the arm. She was not dreaming but was wide awake and everything was a reality! The voice she heard was real and that ant... She realized what it ant and hastily turned around and cupped Rui’s face in her palms, who was smiling widely at her.
"Where had you gone?!" she burst as tears started to fall from her eyes.
Rui wiped her cheeks and whispered, "I’m back... Please stop crying, Cali. It breaks my heart seeing you cry like this..."
Cali pounced at him and murmured, sobbing, "I’m sorry. I will never do that again. Please don’t leave ever again like this."
They stayed there, stilled, hugging each other for so ti, and Rui’s heart was filled with unexplainable joy. He was feeling too happy. How long did he dream of hugging his wife like this with her consent? And now it has co to reality.
He could feel her emotions with her tight hug as if she was scared to lose him. He inwardly chuckled at how he did not follow his own tiline and rushed to her. He was almost dying with the thought of waiting for a few days and finally, he could not take it any longer, so he ran back to her, ignoring the decision taken by himself to stay away from her for a few days to let her realize and sort out her feelings in his absence.
After so ti, Rui pulled Cali to sit on the couch. He was still cuddling her while there was only silence between them.
Cali felt so comfortable in Rui’s arms as if this was her ho that she had been waiting forever since! She was so happy that he ca back soon because she thought he would be gone for too long because of what she did.
"Are you mad at ?" she suddenly asked.
"Why would I be?" Rui answered as he held Cai’s hand lovingly.
"Because I slapped you. I’m sorry... I didn’t know what ca to at that mont. I didn’t want to slap you." Cali whispered.
"Hmm, it’s nothing, Cali. The pain of that slap was nothing compared to the pain I felt seeing you with Edward." Rui voiced his feeling out so Cali could understand how much she ant to him.
Cali bit her lip and whispered, "Sorry, I did not know. I have already talked to Edward this morning and told him I like you. I guess I’m very immature still, I can’t even sort out my feelings easily. I was confused about my feelings for you and I just wanted to see the difference in how I felt if I would be with Edward."
"And how does it differ?" Rui asked. Cali’s confession was like music to his ears that he could not wait to tell Xander how everything went well. They would be genuinely happy for him because Rui knew he was so worried about him.
Cali hesitated. She felt shy telling it to Rui.
"I want to know Cali..." Rui whispered.
"It’s because I felt sothing whenever you touched , and it’s not the sa kind of feelings with Edward. Whenever he held my hand I felt uncomfortable, but whenever you do I feel weird."
"Huh? Weird?" Rui bead.
Cali chuckled and bashfully said, "Weird in a good way, like all my nerves felt a kind of tingling, like so electricity running down my body, and honestly I feel very secure whenever you are close with ... Last night... after I gave everything a good thought I realized that I have deep feelings for you."
Cali gulped and continued, "I love you Rui."
Rui listened intently to every word she said and was so overwheld that he bent down and kissed her hand as tears welled up in his eyes. He was very happy that he finally did it. He endured so much pain and yet persevered and ultimately managed to get his wife back.
Her mories were lost, but her heart was still the sa and it did not fail in recognizing him. He was full of all these emotions that he sobbed while he kissed Cali’s hand repeatedly and lovingly said, "I love you so much, sweetheart. Thank you for loving back..."
Cali turned to face him, and tears were flowing from her eyes too. Both of them were now crying with joy. She leaned forward and gave Rui a gentle kiss on his lips. Rui pulled her and held her nape and deepened the kiss he so longed for and dread of giving her every day.
Cali answered his hungry kiss with the sa intensity but suddenly pulled out to catch her breath before whispering, "Your kiss... It’s the sa as..."
Rui creased his forehead, thinking if Cali was starting to rember sothing.
"What do you an?" he asked.
Cali’s face reddened, wondering if she should tell Rui about her dream with a man, but that was too embarrassing. Maybe she should just omit the lovemaking part.
"I dreamt of kissing a man, but I can’t rember his face. Your kiss and his felt very similar. The feeling in that dream was the sa as it’s with you right now. That man... I tried hard to think if I could rember his face, but it only gave a severe headache when I tried." Cali narrated with a sigh of frustration.
Cali was starting to recall fragnts of her mories, but Rui would no longer expect that her mories would eventually co back. What was important now was Cali loved him again.
"Don’t try to think about it, Cali, if it only causes you pain... The past does not matter, as everything that was in the past has just gone. Just focus on the present and the future..." Rui stated.
Then a naughty smile and grin appeared on his full lips as he teased, "Sweetheart, it’s just probable that you imagined yourself kissing before you went to bed and so... you ended up dreaming about it explicitly. Now that we have both confessed to each other, you can do it anyti you want in reality and not just dream about it. My lips are all yours, Cali."
