When Cali heard Rui’s reason for disclosing everything to Candice, she was left speechless and as she had nothing to retort she had to be quiet again because Rui was right. She was the first one to disclose it to Edward.
She sighed and wondered to herself why she did that.
"Since how long do you know her?" Cali asked out of curiosity.
"Not too long. More or less a year or sothing. She was actually a pediatrician at Yang Globals hospital. So we were colleagues also." Rui explained.
"Why does she call you Dr. ddler?"
Rui chuckled at that question as he recalled those series of awkward and funny tis with Candice. But then it was a long story. He would not dare tell Cali that at so point he got scared of Candice Yao because the woman truly had an exceptional and scary air to her.
"Why are you laughing? Is there even sothing funny in what I asked, huh?" Cali chided. She hated it thinking that Rui was thinking about his happy monts with the woman, that was why he was given such a nickna by her!
"Nevermind! I’m no longer interested in finding out how you were a ddler to her."
"Okay." Rui plainly answered with a silent sigh of relief.
Cali could not help it because she was still itching to ask for more and find out the kind of relationship they shared.
"Is she still single?" She asked in a little low voice next, stuttering a bit because of hesitation.
"Yeah.." Rui simply answered, trying hard to hide that amused grin on his face. He could only interpret one thing when Cali asked more details about Candice, and that was definitely sothing good for him.
And he was anticipating to hear more of Cali’s curiosity.
"So you two are close?" Cali asked.
"Yeah you could say so. We both used to bicker a lot before and banter with each other often as well. There ca a point that I thought I’m interested in her. To be honest, Candice is a very mysterious woman.
She is soone hard to decipher and one who will definitely do sothing crazy suddenly." Rui sincerely responded. If Cali did not co into his life, he probably would end up chasing Candice but then Cali ca knocked in his life and his heart also fell for her unexpectedly.
"Bicker?!" Cali questioned and Rui nodded. He surely described the woman with great intense admiration!
Cali could no longer help it as her nostrils started flaring. Her face could not be painted and was too crumpled. She was glad Rui was driving and could not see it.
Never had she felt so alard for any woman around him. Even Ruth’s presence was not as alarming to her as this hot, sexy and mysterious professor Candice was!
"Yes, you see, Candice has always followed around before telling that she likes a lot." Rui shalessly lied as a sudden brilliant idea ca into his mind.
"What?!" Cali, turning at him, yelled.
Rui chuckled and proudly said, "why? You don’t believe ? Am I not that handso? You heard her yourself... She wants to go out with . You see, earlier too... She always used to ask out, give gifts and so on. She’s so into during that ti.
I’m not sure though if it’s the sa case even now since we’ve not seen each other for too long after she left the country. But as you have seen, Candice is like a mushroom. She will just appear anywhere, out of nowhere, without warning, just like now."
"Are you telling now that you will go out with her and entertain her in case she still likes you?" Cali was horrified with that idea and she couldn’t help but interrogate Rui in a little sharp tone. Cali could feel the throbbing of her heart after she spoke as she suddenly felt scared of Rui’s answer.
"Candice has the tendency to be clingy. If she finds out that I’m still not taken even at this ti then she will surely pursue again. I’m actually flattered when such a beauty pursues , but unfortunately she’s not my type... so I will need a girlfriend or better a fiance if she sohow tries to follow around again.
I have a different taste when it cos to won..." Rui explained, hoping Cali would take the bait. He was also happy Candice was not able to hear all this he spoke else she would definitely not leave him alive.
"My problem now is that I don’t have a woman in my life right now... So... I guess like before I will need soone beside to shoo her away." Rui added.
"You an the last ti you got rid of her by having soone like a girlfriend?!"
Rui nodded then replied, "I had a fiance at that ti and she was really protective and possessive about , Candice got scared of her and finally left following ..."
"Fiance? You have a fiance? Where is she now and what happened to your fiance later?" Cali asked and was reminded of the fact that Rui once ntioned he had a special soone in his heart and he was probably pertaining to his fiance.
She really felt uncomfortable talking all those things to him and she was surprised to learn that there were small needles pricking her heart right at that mont thinking about that fiance of her doc.
’Why am I hurting?’ Cali confusedly asked herself. She didn’t like what she was feeling.
"It’s a personal matter Cali and I’m not comfortable talking about her. All I can say is that I don’t know why but she... forgot ..."
’She lost her mory and forgot all about and our love... even our marriage...’ Rui wanted to add but it would only complicate things.
He could not even ntion he had a wife because that fact would suppress Cali from having feelings towards him thinking he was already married to soone else.
