Chapter 801: 871: The Evil of Pei Yu

Liang Yuening was fuming. Growing up in the sa village as Pei Yu, he had never taken a liking to him, feeling that Pei Yu was too calculating, always up to little tricks. Overall, Yuening found him particularly repellent.

After his family left Taihang Town, and he learned about the things Pei Yu had done, it made him feel so disgusted he wanted to throw up.

Compared to Yue Ning’s outrage, Liang Shujun appeared rather calm. Though she was in Qingfeng Prefecture, her sources were excellent, and she had early on grasped a clear understanding of Pei Yu’s actions through her own channels.

It turned out that after Pei Yu failed to capture Liang Shujun, he took out his anger on so of the ordinary villagers of Kaoshan Village. Thankfully, because Aunt Lin from the village had once interacted with Officer Han, Kaoshan Village was spared through his efforts.

Pei Yu had suffered a setback with Officer Han and also received a warning from him, which left him in a bad mood. Consequently, he sought trouble with the legitimate and concubine husbands raised in the He Mansion, as well as the male concubines who served there.

If it had been just that, it would have been tolerable. But Pei Yu was restless, causing chaos in the He Mansion before reaching out to any n who were even slightly attractive outside, almost completely victimizing them all.

In these days, there had been quite a few murders. Most of the deceased were n—so were unmarried youths, while others were married. There were a few won who had stood up for their n and reported Pei Yu to the Governnt Office, only to be silenced by him.

His actions were ticulous, leaving Officer Han unable to find evidence and therefore unable to do anything to him, but the people of Taihang Town almost unanimously knew that Pei Yu was a great scourge of the town. He was malicious at heart, brutal in his actions, and he was surrounded by several dozen warrior won from The Outside who killed without blinking an eye.

Of course, those from The Outside never killed in public, but there’s only a saying about being a thief for a thousand days, not one about guarding against one for a thousand days.

As a result, the people of Taihang Town walked on thin ice, living each day with extre caution, fearing a simple misstep could provoke the lawless Consort Pei from the He Mansion. He acted as if King’s Law didn’t apply to him. Officer Han of the governnt office had admonished him several tis for his misdeeds. At so point, it seed Pei Yu grew impatient with the harassnt and even Officer Han narrowly escaped his wrath.

Liang Shujun sighed, "Eat up, have a little more." He served so food onto Yue Ning’s plate. While everything had yet to begin, they could still afford a mont of leisure, but once they finished this al and left Food As Heaven, what awaited them was a confrontation with a despicable scoundrel and a storm of bloodshed.

Liang Yuening nodded gloomily, but after taking a bite, he couldn’t swallow, his mind unbearably agitated.

People say that there’s a redy for every villain and that heavens will eventually deal with the wicked. But look at that Pei Yu—an epito of evil. Could it be that Heaven is blind, allowing him to jump around unchecked?

***

This visit to Taihang Town was officially just Shujun and Yue Ning, but in secret, he had already stealthily placed quite a few people inside the town.

Moreover, he was cautious in his planning. Naturally profligate, he always considered the occasion, the issue, and the person involved. At his ho, or in front of his wife, he could be as libertine as he wished; but when it ca to serious matters, he would beco vigilant, cautious, and careful.
