Chapter 599: 599: Pitiful n (Part 3)

Yue Ning swept the courtyard with a broom and noticed his fourth brother leaving with a knife in his hand. There were mountains nearby, and Da Bai enjoyed going wild in the mountains; he and his fourth brother had also hunted there before. But today, his spirit was languid and he did not feel like going out.

After the evening al, he appeared distracted. He wondered if his second brother had noticed his slight moodiness, as he seed to give him a smirk.

Liang Yuening huffed.

In fact, the huff did not an anything much, it was just a subconscious sound, but for so reason, his face showed a clear expression of dissatisfaction.

His second brother laughed.

Now he was truly irritated, even though he knew his second brother didn’t an it in a bad way, but the way his second brother looked at him always made him feel like he was being judged as stupid.

He scratched his head gloomily, then subconsciously began to look for Dong Huiying.

Where had Baobao gone?

He was surprised for a mont, then quickly got up to look for her.

First, he went to Dong Huiying’s room but didn’t see anyone. Purple Garden was simply too large, so even as it got very dark, he still couldn’t find her.

Where had Baobao gone?

Returning to Xihui Courtyard absent-minded, Yue Ning sat down dejectedly on the steps. He blinked and lifted his head to look at the sky, where the stars had begun to appear once more.

Did Baobao dislike him as well?

He knew he wasn’t smart. His eldest brother was enigmatic and had done many good deeds outside, but he was very capable.

His second brother, despite his frail body, knew a lot about various things, and was almost an expert in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting.

His third brother excelled at business, his fourth brother was better at hunting than himself, and Yixuan was considerate and ticulous, taking such good care of Baobao.

Thinking this way, it seed like he was the only useless one in the family.

The more he thought about it, the more dispirited he beca. With a heavy heart, he placed his arms on his knees and buried his face in the crook of his arm, not even wanting to look at the stars anymore.

"Yue Ning?" Dong Huiying pushed open the door and saw Liang Yuening sitting outside the house, looking sowhat bewildered. After dinner, she had a stomach ache and went to the latrine. When she returned, she saw Yue Ning sitting in the courtyard, looking emotionally downcast.

What was wrong with him now? Who had upset him?

Noticing that he was nearly frozen stiff, as it was terribly cold in January, and his cheeks were almost purple from the chilly wind, she quickly reached out to pull him up, only to find him staring straight at her, inhaling sharply through his nose.

"You’re just like mother; you must also disdain !"

"Eh?"

Where had he gotten this mistaken belief?

Liang Yuening felt incredibly wronged. Since he was young, he was never the favored one; his mother did not like him, his personality was not agreeable, and apart from his own brothers, others didn’t like him either.

He blinked rapidly, his eyes stinging a bit, then he got up in a huff and walked away.

"Wait!" She quickly grabbed him, Dong Huiying with a puzzled face asked, "What are you sulking about now? When have I ever scorned you?"

"You’re always looking at eldest brother and second brother, and you hardly ever look at !"

He complained bitterly.

Dong Huiying was at a loss for words. What was this situation?

"Hold on, hold on, let’s straighten this out."

And so, the two of them stood in the doorway, braving the cold wind, having a heart-to-heart, until she finally understood and looked at him skeptically. Was he... could he be jealous?

He looked like a big, beseeching dog, and Dong Huiying found it both laughable and frustrating. She then explained again, trying to convince him that she treated all six brothers equally!

Liang Yuening suddenly felt happy.
