Chapter 591: 591: New Year’s Eve (Part 7)
Shujun also joined them on the roof, nimble as a monkey. Having suffered a great deal of hardship a few months ago, he had been frail and skinny, but thanks to Dong Huiying’s nurturing with good food and drink daily, he now glowed with health, his fair skin blushing with the hint of pink, the epito of suave charm.
He climbed up the ladder to the rooftop, staggering tipsily toward Big Brother, who was behind Baobao, and then Shujun sat cross-legged in front of Baobao, cradling her face and pressing a kiss onto her: "Baobao, Baobao..." He rubbed his cheek against her neck, murmuring in admiration, "I truly love you, love you to death, Baobao..." His steady stream of kisses fell upon her hair, her forehead, her nose, her lips, while Big Brother held her waist tightly behind her.
She had drunk too much, completely muddled, laughing and complaining of ticklishness as she rubbed her eyes and nose, pushing at Liang Shujun.
Then Haoming climbed up as well, and even in his drunken state, his face remained cool. Staggering over, he grabbed Third Brother by the collar and hoisted him aside, then tenderly lifted Dong Huiying’s small hand, kissing it repeatedly, lost and befuddled in the haze of inebriation, until he finally took Dong Huiying’s fingertips into his mouth, sucking and gently grinding them with his teeth.
"No, no, fourth brother... hic, stop eating, I... I haven’t had my share yet!" Liang Yuening flailed drunkenly, swaying this way and that. He lunged forward, hooking his arm around Dong Huiying’s neck, puckering up while hiccupping with drunkenness: "I want so too, Baobao, you’re naughty, you give to Big Brother and Third Brother, but you won’t let
have any, that’s not fair!"
Complaining, he aid for a bite on her lips but, too inebriated to see clearly, ended up kissing Dong Huiying’s eyelid instead.
Dong Huiying’s eyes felt uncomfortable as she gently pushed him away.
Then Yixuan also ca up, lying down next to Dong Huiying’s legs, resting his head on her thighs with a dreamy smile on his face, his arms loosely wrapping around Dong Huiying’s waist, touching Big Brother’s arm.
Beside them, Second Brother Shu Yu saw the chaotic scene and grimaced.
"Hmph!"
He sat alone on the side, while everyone else huddled around Dong Huiying.
He grimaced again.
But then he suddenly felt restless, as if he were being left out.
So nimbly, with stealth, he inched closer, stretching out a hand to curl a lock of Dong Huiying’s long hair around his fingers, montarily lost in thought.
He had held her before... in their ho at Kaoshan Village, on the clay bed in the eastern room, where she had fallen asleep in his arms, slling sweet and her hair soft.
"Ah, the sun is rising!" Yue Ning turned to face the dawn, letting out a holler that made Second Brother shiver.
Shu Yu: "..."
They all sat on the rooftop with giggles, watching the sunrise, its golden light falling on everyone.
Beautiful, truly beautiful!
Dong Huiying smiled foolishly, a silly, enraptured smile as she snuggled into Big Brother Liang Zhichen’s arms, her legs pillowed by Yixuan, with Yue Ning on her left and Haoming on her right, while Shujun once again drew closer, extending his arms to embrace everyone, beaming like a child.
Shu Yu watched this, and his hand faintly trembled; then from behind Big Brother, he slowly reached out, joining hands with his twin brother Shujun, to pull everyone together in a hug, front and back.
They had co up to watch the sun, initially because Yue Ning, drunk, insisted on seeing the stars. But there were no stars on New Year’s Eve, and Shujun, ever impulsive, suggested they just wait for daybreak to watch the sunrise, so they all ran up to the rooftop.
