Evelyn’s POV

The past few days had been quiet. Calvin hadn’t shown up since that night, which was a relief. I spent my mornings at work and afternoons with my children, a perfect routine.

Although the twins made a full recovery under my care, I remain concerned about possible latent side effects. There’s a chance their wolf may fail to erge by age sixteen. To prepare for that possibility, I initiated a project titled "Wolf Instinct Suppression Reversal".

I never ant to challenge the Moon Goddess, but I couldn’t just wait and pray. Not when the twins’ futures were at stake.Normally, every werewolf awakens their wolf spirit at the age of sixteen. But under certain circumstances—such as curses, corrupted bloodlines, or poisoning—that awakening can be delayed or even prevented entirely. So wolves lose their instincts completely and beco what we call Wolfless.

My project, Wolf Instinct Suppression Reversal, is designed to address this very issue. It focuses on repairing the fractured link between the human psyche and the wolf spirit—often damaged by trauma, manipulation, or forced suppression.

By restoring both mory and rational thought, we aim to heal the ntal split between the human self and the wolf, allowing the instinct to resurface naturally.

What makes this groundbreaking is that, unlike traditional rituals or prayers to the Moon Goddess, this thod relies solely on science and psychological intervention. It’s the first of its kind in both the dical field and within the werewolf world.

My research has shown so small success lately. I started this project partly for personal reasons. My daughter Alexis sohow inherited my Wolfless trait. I need to find out why this happened.

Alexis had to stay at Evelink Biosciences every three months for her health checks since birth. Everyone here loved her sweet face and gentle nature. The staff spoiled her, and she knew it.

I didn’t worry when she and the twins explored the building. Eryx kept watch over them, though they could be hard to find in the large facility.

Today I found them in the garden near Leon’s room. He was teaching them a card ga, showing a gentleness I rarely saw him use with grown ups.

The twins, smart as they were, learned the ga quickly. Now they were trying to teach their little sister.

Alexis sat on Leon’s lap, looking up at her brothers with confused eyes.

"I don’t know how," she said so innocently that I wanted to laugh.

"It’s okay, Alexis. I’ll show you," Rowan said, always the patient one.

Leon touched her head gently. "I can teach you an easier ga, little one."

"Look, sis! Match these colors here..." Rhys held up his cards excitedly.

My daughter looked between them all, then sighed like a tiny grown up. She pointed to her cheek.

"But I’m only three," she reminded them.

Three years old! She was still just a toddler! What were they thinking with such a complex card ga?

It was the first ti I’d seen such a resigned look on my daughter’s face, and I couldn’t help but laugh as I called her na. She climbed down from Leon’s lap and ran to with tiny, quick steps.

"Mama! Mama!"

In that mont, I could almost see her future self, running to after school. My heart squeezed with both pride and a strange sadness. I bent down to catch her, lifting her up and kissing her soft cheek.

"Did Alexis have fun playing with her brothers today?" I asked.

She started counting her activities on her little fingers, carefully avoiding any ntion of the card ga. As she rested against my shoulder, her body suddenly stiffened.

"Uncle," she said, looking over my shoulder.

I turned around to see Calvin Wolfe standing under an oak tree, wearing a perfect suit that matched his commanding presence. He carried himself with that quiet confidence only born Alphas possess.

So people naturally draw all attention just by being there. Calvin was always one of them.

My smile faded when our eyes t. His expression was cold, distant, moving from Leon to . He noticed my change in mood.

The twins spotted their father and ran to him.

"Dad, you ca to see us!" Rowan called out.

"Dad, brother and I learned a new card ga. Leon taught us!" Rhys added excitedly.

Neither boy noticed the tension between the adults. They just wanted to share their day with their father.

Calvin crouched down to their level, his stern face softening as he listened to them talk. It was amazing how his children could change him, how the cold Alpha of Bloodbane Pack could beco almost gentle around his sons.

It was nearly dinner ti. Leon had spent hours with the children, and as their mother, I needed to thank him properly.

"Would you like to join us for dinner?" I asked, ignoring Calvin’s clenched jaw.

Leon nodded graciously.

Calvin’s expression darkened, though he stayed composed as the twins took his hands and led him toward the dining hall. I carried Alexis, feeling Leon’s gaze on our backs.

In the dining room, I sat with Alexis beside , Leon taking the seat on her other side. He started helping her with her food, making her forget all about the card ga confusion. Soon she was calling him "Uncle Leon" and chatting happily.

Calvin and the twins sat across from us.His eyes kept flickering over whenever Alexis called Leon’s na, growing colder each ti. Classic Alpha territory marking, without saying a word.

As both a man and an Alpha, he surely saw Leon’s interest in . Seven years had passed, but Leon’s feelings hadn’t changed. If anything, they’d grown from a young crush into sothing more mature and patient.

Calvin’s gaze turned icy. I shot him a warning look, which he took as defending Leon. His eyes darkened dangerously.

After dinner, I had barely seen Leon out when Calvin grabbed my wrist, pulling into the dark stairwell corner. I looked toward the living room where our children played, trying to pull free without success.

"Calvin, what are you doing?" I whispered.

His tall figure lood in the shadows. His eyes locked onto mine intensely.

"I should ask you that," he said, voice tight with control. "Letting Robinson near our children. What are you playing at?"

I frowned at him. "He was just playing with them. What’s wrong with that?"

Anger flashed in his eyes. "Wrong? Don’t you know he..."

He stopped himself, as if realizing he’d shown too much emotion. I watched the powerful Alpha pull himself together, refusing to show how much this bothered him.

His eyes burned dark, his grip tightening slightly.

When he spoke again, his voice was quiet but intense.

"Five years ago, on Robinson’s birthday night, were you with him?"

The question surprised . This old issue again? Why did he keep bringing up Leon?

After marrying Calvin, I hadn’t seen Leon until recently. As for five years ago...

That was my hardest year. The twins had just turned two when Diana took them from . "Ogas can’t raise Alpha heirs," she’d said. While Calvin worked late every night, I stayed alone in an empty house. The Pack whispered behind my back, and I couldn’t even hold my own babies.

It was the darkest ti of my life, when I felt completely alone.

I looked at Calvin, trying to understand his obsession with that night. What did he think happened between Leon and ? And why did he still care after all this ti?

The shadows crossed his face as he waited for my answer. His grip on my wrist wasn’t painful, but it was firm—as unyielding as his need to finally face whatever had been eating at him for five years.

"Why are you so focused on Leon?" I asked instead of answering him. "What do you think happened?"
