While returning ho on the private plane, Leena asked about Carrot's and Nick's condition. If it were a couple of days back, Devin would have hesitated to tell about Carrot's health, but he doesn't need to lie. Carrot's health had significantly improved after the little conversation with her before he left for Russia. He never knew dogs are so sensitive to humans until he t Carrot.
Half n hour later, Leena said. ''It's ti for lunch.'' She was ticulous in ordering and avoiding so food items, which amused Devin. During lunch, Leena ate three tis the food she usually eats despite Devin's naggings.
''I haven't eaten good food for ten days.'' She pouted. ''Don't get mad at .''
''I am not mad, sweetheart..'' He tucked the hair behind the back of her ear. ''I don't want you to have an upset stomach.''
''Leena is strong to have an upset stomach.'' She reasoned.
''She tells the sa thing all the ti before running after the bathroom,'' Devin countered.
Ignoring his bombasts, Leena snuggled closer to him for sleep, and a while later, she flipped to the other side. She felt her body heating up. She turned left and right a couple of tis before she rushed into the bathroom and threw up.
''Your eating habits have to be controlled, Leena.'' Leaning forward, Devin closed her ears as Leena forced the food out of her stomach. ''Are you okay, now?'' He handed the hot water and patted her back to soothe her trembling body.
The stomach acids bubbled up in her throat, making her throat sore. ''Loose motions are far better than vomitings.''
''Your tabolism is high, which doesn't an you have to eat anything that your eyes want.'' Her tiredness was clearly visible on her face. Without a word, Devin carried her back to the seat.
''Don't worry, Devin.'' She entwined her left hand with his right and squeezed it as a form of assurance. ''It's just motion sickness. I will be fine.''
''No. Let's get you checked up tomorrow.'' He said, leaving no room for discussions. He knows Enger doesn't harm Leena, but he wants to ensure she is fine and healthy.
He would never fail to throw her into the sugar sea. ''Alright, my sweet husband'' Getting up, Leena jumped into his lap in happiness.
''Now?'' Devin questioned, embracing her hands around her back to support her from falling.
''You are always horny, idiot.''
''Aha?'' He grabbed her lower lip and nipped it. ''Two weeks back, I was eating my breakfast, and madam was so horny that she didnot let finish, and dragged to the bedroom to satisfy her needs. Later she threw out like I am an escort.''
With Devin's sharp words, Leena sheepishly gazed at the carpet. After her pregnancy, she feels like her body is going through a transformation, including her sexual frustration.
''Cat got your tongue?''
''Can I ask you a question?'' Leena changed her topic.
''Pass the question if it is about your stupid poop questions.''
Leena hit his shoulder. ''It's not about poop this ti. What is 1 1?'' She decided it was ti to tell him the truth.
''Clue?'' Here is asking for a hint when even the kindergarten kids know the answer.
''It's not two.''
''I know that.'' Thinking hard, Devin ca up with an answer that would suit Leena's taste. ''Even if 1 1 = 11, or 03, Leena is always right. That's what you wanted to hear, isn't it?'' He doesn't want to enter into any argunts with this feisty one.
Leena wanted to bang her head on the floor. Despite giving several clues, this idiot cannot catch the phrase that one plus one is equal to three.
''Your sense of humor is the worst I had seen.'' Leaning her head on his chest, she closed her eyes and drifted to sleep.
''Did I say sothing wrong?'' Devin thought to himself.
After Leena landed, hands waved at her with all smiles. It looked like the followers lined up to see the newly chosen Pope of the Vatican city in Dan Brown's Angels and Demons novel. All her family mbers and friends lined up to receive Leena.
Her mom looked like she had aged a decade. After the little hugs from the other end and pats of comforts from her end, Devin took her to the hospital to see Nick on the way. He tore up after seeing Leena. The sa went for Leena as well.
Later, Leena went to the vet hospital. Sunshine flooded Carrot's soul as she saw Leena. She jumped from the bed and wagged its tail before jumping onto Leena's embrace.
''How much I missed you, Carrot.'' She patted her back lovingly.
Leena wanted to leave Carrot for at least two days until she was properly recovered, but Carrot being Carrot, refused to let Leena away from him. The trauma of losing Leena on that day has left a severe impact on her.
Leena also wanted to et Morvena and Winter, but the night had turned darker. So, she went ho along with Devin and Carrot. The mories of that day flooded back at once as she stepped into the ho.
Sensing Leena's spiked-up emotions, Devin ca forward. ''It's over. Don't think of that incident anymore.'' Grabbing her hand, Devin took her to the bedroom. ''Co on, let's sleep.'' Only when his fatigue carped, Devin slept. His body and mind were beyond exhausted for the days Leena was not with him.
Laying on the bed, Leena didnot close her eyes. Instead, they were glued to the wall clock.
Devin waited, but Leena didnot move her eyes. He couldn't help but ask. ''What's so amusing in the clock?'' He questioned as the ti showed it 11.55.
When the ti struck twelve, Leena turned to Devin, scread, startling him at once. ''Happy birthday, babylicious!!!''
Now it dawned on Devin. ''You rember?''
''Of course. How can I forget your birthday?'' She pecked his lips. She wanted to make it to his birthday at least, and she landed into his arms before that.
''Thank you. Thank you so much, darling. So, where is my gift?'' Although Devin knows his sweetheart didnot get the chance to make the cake, she learned, he wanted to listen to the funny reasons she ca up with.
''Gift?'' An idea hit her brain. Cheesy it was, let it be. Leena was tired of coming up with unique ideas which she knew this idiot would never guess. Blushing and dropping her eyes down, Leena took his hand and put it on her stomach. ''This is your gift.''
At first, Devin was confused, then..''Wait! What!''
