Ren’s heart swelled with hope. What a brilliant idea.
Gloria had always been eager to learn, but lately, her determination had outpaced even Ren’s ability to keep up as a teacher. The girl had taken her studies to heart and now trained under Mr. Biken, who’d graciously guided her deeper into the world of knowledge. She had studied about the Fae.
"Is that even possible?" Ren asked, doubt lacing her voice as her gaze locked onto Agara.
His expression darkened. "I’m not sure. He wouldn’t accept the proposal if it ca from . I’ll have to share it with my father. Which ans... I must tell him about you. It’s the only way to convince him to help the humans and shifters."
A chill crept down Ren’s spine like a whisper of wind through ancient trees. Too soon. It was far too soon for the Fae to know. But deep down, she understood—news like this would travel swiftly, with or without her consent.
"Let speak with His Highness first," Ren said firmly. She couldn’t make a move without Kai’s knowledge, not when it ca to the Fae. She didn’t know their customs or their temper. What if revealing her identity triggered an imdiate response? What if they turned on her before she could explain?
She was supposed to deliver her mother’s ssage to the Fae King herself, but the thought of doing it without Kai beside her twisted her gut with unease.
"For now," Agara said gently, steering her away from her thoughts, "let us show you how the poison freezes vampire blood and slows their speed."
They turned back to the task at hand, diving into their work before heading out to Ogain’s nest. Today, Ren would finally witness him challenge Calisa in the sky.
Either ti she had asked to watch him challenge Calisa before, Ogain had rejected, claiming he was working on special tactics. That little beast... he was far cleverer than she had ever imagined. He wanted to surprise her and show her how amazing he was.
Ren saw Calisa before the door, waving a hand for them.
"Are you ready, Your Highness? I’m sure Ogain cannot wait!" Calisa was so excited too. He had been dealing with an amazing beast. A sacred bird! How many people were born lucky to do this?
Ren nodded, and he opened the door and crossed the entrance hall.
Gloria, Ren, and Calisa, the three of them froze.
Orgeve covered Arkilla’s body with a sheet. Arkilla was ashad to move. How the hell did they sleep this much and didn’t even realize their arrival?
So that was the reason the two of them were out of reach! Ren thought.
Gloria’s face turned red! These two shaless brats slept together!
"Arkilla, get... dressed and co up the stairs." Ren could eventually catch her breath and stord up the stairs, dragging Gloria with her. The maiden girl was about to scold Arkilla, but Ren actually was happy and couldn’t wait to question Arkilla. She needed to know if it was the blood bond or if Org had actually confessed to her because she wouldn’t let that male abuse her guard’s feelings whenever he just felt hot to fuck soone.
Arkilla didn’t know how fast she got dressed but a minute later she was standing before her Queen who was caressing her Griffin. She was too embarrassed to look at Luna Queen.
"Arkilla, we must break the blood bond!" Ren feigned a scowl.
"It wasn’t for the bond, however, what happened exactly between you and His Highness! The entire world fell in shadow!"
Ren cleared her throat, "I guess you know the answer so do not twist the matter. Is he playing with you?"
Arkilla sighed, "No, he confessed to when I was wiggling in pain in my bed. He carried here and..."
She stopped as Ren raised her palm. Well, that much was enough. She didn’t need to tell them the rest, although Calisa was so eager to hear it and snorted when Ren interrupted Killa.
Gloria’s mouth dropped to the floor, how long was that?
"You didn’t tell !" Gloria frowned. Were they not friends?
"Sorry, it was all too sudden. He had a mate, and you know, I had zero chance and didn’t want to talk about it. I’m sorry."
"Now, everyone knows!" Calisa laughed sheepishly, scratching the back of his head, his eyes darting to Org, and sohow signaling that he would tell everyone about the two of them.
"Fine, co here Gamma Orgeve!" Ren summoned him. He had to promise that he wouldn’t break her heart again.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" He lowered his head.
"Look at !" He obeyed instantly, why was their Luna a bit scary today? Was it that sohow, His Highness darkened her soul?
"Yes!" His head moved up, his chin high like a soldier.
"If you hurt her, I won’t show rcy toward you regardless of how dear you are to the Alpha King." Ren’s words were dripping with venomous nace. She ant it.
"I promise not to break her heart and... Love her until I die! I’ll protect her until my heart is in my chest."
Ren nodded, "Good!" She walked closer to Arkilla, "Now, I break my blood oath with you, Arkilla Keile, you are free to live a life full of joy!"
She extended her arm and a white thread of light expanded and hit Arkilla’s heart, drawing a drop of blood, and it rested on Ren’s palm.
Arkilla was shocked, and stiffened, "It was without my consent!" She kneeled imdiately, "I’m begging you, give it back to ."
Ren had to force her. She would not agree to that.
"No, Arkilla! You are not going to shield , not any longer. I’ll take you to Alvonia, but this will not be the last mission."
This girl was in love and compelling her to follow that blood oath could limit her or destroy Org if sothing happened to her. It was the best decision.
Arkilla rose on her feet, her expression was sour.
"I never said that you cannot be my guard!" Ren pointed out.
"I can’t feel you." The oga girl was about to cry, barely containing her heart.
"That’s better, now, if I die, you’ll live! Do not argue with or I will ask for another guard who’d obey !"
Arkilla nodded desperately.
