Xia ilin was feeling cold and hot at the sa ti. Every part of her body was hurting when she woke up. She whimpered in pain since she was having a high fever at that ti. She felt sothing cold being placed on her forehead before she fell asleep again.
The next mont when she opened her eyes, she found herself inside a white room. She felt her hand being held and she tried pulling it away but it aroused the man who was holding it.
Lu Yifeng sat up straight and looked at her. His hair was ssy, and dark bags were seen under his eyes. He looked terrible like this, he looked like he didn’t sleep a wink ever since she was taken.
Realizing it was him, Xia ilin ended up tearing up as she pursed her lips. "Y-Yifeng..." She cried as she held his hand tight.
He reached out his other hand and wiped her tears away, "Don’t cry, everything is fine now. You’re fine now."
She burst into tears and cried like a child as she squeezed his hand when she recalled what happened. She felt scared because of it. She was afraid and traumatized. If she wasn’t able to escape that place, she could have been raped and killed by now.
Lu Yifeng helped her up and took her in his arms. After receiving a call from one of his n, he hurriedly went to the hospital where Xia ilin was taken in. He felt his heart almost stop when he saw her condition.
He swore to himself that he will protect her and yet... he wasn’t able to do that. He was known to be a powerful man and yet, he can’t even do anything to find where his wife was when she was taken away by soone. At that mont, he felt worthless and useless. He wasn’t even able to do sothing for the person he swore to protect.
He almost lost her... He was so scared to know that she almost slipped off his hand again. He lost her in his previous life and he wouldn’t be able to take it if he lost her in this life too.
Even with his connections, the mont Xia ilin was taken off from his radar, he couldn’t find her. His n were searching for her but without any other lead except for the CCTV footage, he couldn’t find her. Even if he was soone powerful, he still has his limits and because of his limitations, his wife was put to danger. He was not fast enough to find her.
"It’s alright now, I’m here." He hugged her close in his arms. "You’re going to be fine."
Feeling safe in his arms, Xia ilin stopped crying and was able to calm down.
"Don’t leave ..." She whispered in her weak and dry voice.
"I won’t." He pulled away from the hug and wiped her wet face with his hands. "You must be hungry. Do you want to eat? I’ve brought you so congee."
Feeling her stomach grumble, she nodded quietly while she hugged her blanket.
Lu Yifeng put two pillows behind Xia ilin to make her more comfortable before he turned around to get her congee.
"Yifeng... how long was I asleep?" She asked softly as her eyes never left his figure.
"Five days." He answered without turning to her.
"How did you find ?"
"I have been looking for you everywhere. I’m sorry for not being able to find you as soon as possible." He turned around and brought the hot congee to her and placed it on the table. He fed a spoonful of the food to her but since Xia ilin’s appetite was not getting better despite how her fever was now gone, she couldn’t bring herself to finish the food he was feeding her.
Rembering the man who helped her, Xia ilin couldn’t help but ask, "The man who helped ... where is he?"
"Don’t worry, I made sure to repay that man for helping you." He handed her a glass of water and the dicine that the doctor prescribed to have after she eats.
"How about Xiao Gua?" Xia ilin asked after taking her dicine.
"He’s fine. I told him that you were at work." He took the tray away.
Xia ilin gave out a small smile before she lowered her head. "Bai Xiu Ying."
Lu Yifeng turned to her with his brows knitted together. "What?"
"She did this."
The atmosphere around Lu Yifeng changed. His eyes beca bloodshot. "Bai Xiu Ying, you say?"
Xia ilin nodded as she faced him. "I... also killed one of her n while escaping."
After placing the tray away, Lu Yifeng walked back to her and held her hand. "It’s okay, you did it to protect yourself. What you did is the right thing."
She lowered her head and rested it on his chest. "I wasn’t able to kill the other guy... What if he cos after ?"
"He will need to face first." He patted her back gently. "Don’t worry, this ti, I will not let anyone touch a single hair in your head."
Xia ilin looked up at him, her eyes becoming misty. "I-I’m sorry for bringing you trouble."
He leans and kissed her tears away. "The only trouble you can give is if you left ... I thought that I had lost you forever..."
She buried her face in his chest as she hugged him. "I will never leave you, Lu Yifeng."
Xia ilin was inside a VIP room of the hospital and every now and then, a nurse will co to check on her IV drip and dress her wounds.
To make sure that Xia ilin was going to be well, Lu Yifeng allowed her to stay a few more days in the hospital.
Lu Yifeng was now lying down beside her, hugging her to him. Even if she was alright now, he still couldn’t sleep a wink. He was afraid that if he close his eyes, she might disappear.
He has already ordered Su Lei to give the Bai family a warning if they won’t give Bai Xiu Ying to him, he will destroy their family.
Not wanting to go against the Lu family, the Bai family was willing to give Bai Xiu Ying to him but she went into hiding after she learned that even her family couldn’t protect her from Lu Yifeng’s wrath.
Xia ilin woke up in the middle of the night but she ended up seeing Lu Yifeng, wide awake. "Why aren’t you sleeping yet?"
"I was about to sleep." He lied. "Go back to sleep."
She shakes her head. "Not until I make sure you go to sleep."
He light pinched her nose, "I’m fine. Go to sleep."
Xia ilin refused to do that. Instead, she asked, "What’s bothering you?"
"Nothing." He closed his eyes to avoid his question.
She pursed her lips. Xia ilin was sure that it wasn’t nothing. "Yifeng... Tell ."
