When Ryle did not see Daisy around in the bedroom, he stood frozen in his spot for a mont until a voice echoed in the room.

’’Part legs... part legs... ahh!"

Ryle’s gaze shot to the overactive male parrot who was flapping his wings and shalessly mimicking him. His face darkened like the bottom of a pot, ’’If you keep shouting these things unabashedly in front of guests and bring sha, I’ll send you for therapy sowhere.’’

Without wasting further ti on the bird, Ryle grabbed his T-shirt, putting it on with one hand as he rushed downstairs. He had hoped that she would still be around, sitting on the couch like she did last night or at least waiting for him so as to say goodbye before she left but by the ti he walked to the living room, he found the place empty as well.

’’Maybe in the kitchen...’’ Ryle mumbled thoughtfully and he was about to go to the kitchen to check if Daisy was there but his footsteps slowed down when he noticed the empty coffee table from the corner of his eyes.

Last night, she had asked for the investigation report regarding the possible sources of the poison that was sared on the dart. But by the ti he brought the reports over, she had dozed off on the couch so he left the file on the coffee table and took her upstairs.

The file was gone.

Ryle’s hopes of looking for Daisy Chen in the kitchen were gone as he realized that the woman had already left.

On her way back to ho, Daisy’s head was not straight. The events of last night and early morning kept repeating in her mind, his words, his actions and his commands... that much to her own surprise, she obeyed with all that interest took her aback when she thought about them.

Then, his abrupt reaction as if sobody snapped him awake. The way he left the place.

’n!’

Why do sothing you are not sure about?

Daisy rolled her eyes and looked at the file she took before leaving his place.

By the ti she reached ho, her thoughts were more organized after reflecting over those matters throughout the whole journey.

’’I am back,’’ Daisy was greeted with extended monts of silence after her words.

Both Ivy and Angel could carry on talk shows by themselves even if there was no single audience. It was so unlike them to be so quiet.

When Daisy pushed the door to the Master Bedroom, she found Angel sleeping on the bed. It was only then did she check the ti. It was barely past 8 am, too early for the little pig to wake up.

Sighing, she was about to walk to bed when she noticed another presence in the bedroom.

Daisy looked at Ivy who was sitting on the couch, her legs were folded and the side of her face was supported by her fist. She looked depressed.

"Did Angel trouble you to the point of depression last night?" Daisy approached the woman, taking a seat next to Ivy.

’’Good to see that you are in the mood of jokes. I want to joke too...’’ Ivy blinked and looked at the ceiling, the dark circles under her eyes were highlighted as she did so, ’’But my humour is broken at this point.’’

Daisy turned towards the woman, ’’What happened to you?" she asked, concerned this ti. It was already very strange to not see Ivy chirping like a morning bird.

"I got a job offer,’’ Ivy mumbled, ’’I used to work for Maxim before in his side business where I earned a lot but it was not the field that I liked. I was doing that for money. These days, I have encountered a creative block in developing my ga so I felt stuck there. I have been applying for this empty position for a developer for months now but I never got a response until now. This job... It’s almost like my dream job.’’

Daisy’s lips parted, ’’Did you feel lonely to celebrate alone?’’ She seed to have figured out why the woman was sitting all alone, depressed, ’’You should have given a call.’’

’’It’s not that,’’ Ivy’s lips twitched. Did she look like a child? "I... The job is in Las Vegas. I don’t want to leave you both behind.’’

Daisy paused when she heard that. After so ti, she spoke up, ’’I and Angel can co to visit you every once in a while and you can also visit us when you have ti.’’

"Yes... but...’’ Ivy shook her head, not saying another word. Her eyes were sohow red and face also looked pale when observed closely.

"You are young, Ivy but you have seen the world, I believe. You can afford to be sad, introspect about life, turn down offers, hesitate and all that only when you financially strong. Lucky are the people who do things they are passionate about,’’ Daisy did not think she was good with comforting words but she ant every word she said, ’’If this is a job that you want, then drop your concerns and go for it.’’

Ivy lowered her head.

’’And whatever problems you face, you should know you have people to count on. Not just Maxim and Diana, but also . You don’t need to hold yourself back from good opportunities without any proper cause.’’

Ivy looked at Daisy, eyes welling with tears. She hugged the woman in silence, that was so unlike of her, ’’Thank you.’’

Daisy patted her back, ’’Where are you going by the way?"

Ivy pulled back, her spirits dampening further when she heard the question. Inhaling a deep breath, she said, "Las Vegas.’’

"And when is your interview?"

"They have three rounds of interview. The first round is after a few hours.’’

Daisy checked the ti on her watch, ’’Then what are you still doing here? You have no ti to waste.’’

Ivy squared her shoulders and mustered a smile that did not look like one of her usual free and uninhibited smiles.

Daisy fell into thought.
