Second, even if they had no connections with Kingsley family, they would report it to Rule right away and the man would co up with sothing to convince her with.
Daisy had prided herself for being a very rational person. She was not easily swayed. Not by anything. Specifically not n. Growing up, she had witnessed her parents’ toxic relationship, her father neglecting her mother and her mother acting insane and projecting her angst on them, her daughters.
Now she knew that things were not as they had seed back then. Her parents had their own baggage. But her younger self had been clueless and hence resorted to hating n. She had grown up with that notion in her head, with an innate dislike and prejudice towards the entire gender. So, no, she had not been the one to be swayed by n. At all.
Until Ryle. Until this man with strong arms wrapped her in his embrace, buried her in passion and whispered sweet nothings till she lost sight of her rationality, of herself and everything.
So, she had decided that she would co see for herself what had made him lie to her. Coming here in a disguise had also been a tactic to retain an upper hand so that just in case, Ryle was in danger, they could have an advantage of remaining in the shadows to plan sothing without revealing all their cards.
That was the reason that she had promptly parted from Lu Xian after he dropped her at the hotel. The man was here with his own purpose and Daisy was both clueless and uninterested about it but nevertheless, she appreciated this smooth cooperation.
When she left Beijing, she had left the text to two of the elite guards to keep their tracks hidden and follow her to Vegas. In the hotel, she made arrangents for her disguise and after so ti of tracking the movents of the people moving in and out of Kingsley mansion, her people were finally able to get their hands on the woman who was now staying in the hotel room Daisy had booked.
Daisy had aid for the newly hired maids because the older staff mbers should be unacquainted with them at this point. And her deduction had proved right when she managed to disguise herself and enter this place.
She did not rember when she last ate anything or closed her eyes amidst her anxiety that sothing might happen to Ryle. Yet, all she got was being told to leave.
Daisy smiled bitterly. But in the next mont, her face changed.
The sound of approaching footsteps made her eyes narrow.
"Daze, is that you?"
Daisy’s body relaxed when she heard the familiar voice, ’’Maria,’’ the woman was none other than the sa maid who had upsetted Ryle’s father outside.
Daisy had a feeling that had the butler not ntioned Nathan’s mistress just in ti, then Maria would have lost her life right there.
Maria walked towards Daisy and as she passed by the light, she let her hair fall in front of her face to cover the glaring scars that spanned across half of it, ’’What are you doing outside at this hour? I woke up to use the bathroom but found the room was empty. Co, it’s cold here, let’s go inside first...’’
’’I am unfamiliar with this place,’’ Daisy put on an embarrassed smile as the woman held her hand and led her inside the servant quarters.
As they walked, Daisy quietly observed the surroundings while conversing with Maria. The woman whom Daisy had replaced was sharing a room with Maria in the servant quarters and since they were new here, they were given room in the outer area that showed their insignificant positions.
Now that she thought about it, these things were rather fateful. While Daisy was not a huge believer of coincidences, she had been startled by the fact that the maid whom she was replacing went by the na ’Daze’. And due to various factors, her profile was the most convenient and suitable one.
Other than Ryle who occasionally referred to her with that nickna, nobody called Daisy that. But even while disguising herself, she had not thought that she would end up introducing herself to Ryle’s father with that na right in front of Ryle. She had infiltrated the mansion in hopes that she would sneak into Ryle’s room at night without alerting anyone and talk to him.
But what one was most worried about was sure to happen. Although Ryle did not let his expressions slip, Daisy still noticed his shock when he heard her saying that na. Ryle....
’’Daze... Daze...’’ Maria shook her hand.
Daisy snapped out of her thoughts and it took her mont to realize that she had once again started thinking about the man who wanted to send her out of his sight at this mont, ’’I... sorry, I think I am just tired...’’
’’I understand. What happened today must have scared you, right?" Maria smiled kindly as she pushed open the door to their room and led her to her bed.
Unlike how she was trembling earlier in Nathan’s presence, now she seed just like a gentle and shy young woman, ’’It was indeed a little frightening...’’ Daisy said in a softer voice as she moved to the side and gave so space to Maria who sat beside her.
’’But I still have to thank you. You were so scared but despite that, you spoke up for in front of Master...’’ As she spoke, her eyes teared up.
Daisy rubbed her arm gently, ’’We are both new so it is only fair that we look out for each other. You were put in a tough spot there today. What if it is tomorrow?"
Maria nodded, ’’If you encounter any difficulties in the future, I would stand up for you too.’’
Daisy smiled, ’’I will have to thank you in advance then,’’ she paused for a mont before speaking, ’’Are you feeling better now?"
