Once she asked the question, she was greeted with silence.

Logan stilled but then he regained his composure in the brief mont.

"He is sleepy," he remarked, calmly glancing at little Eli whom he was holding.

Ivy followed his gaze and looked at the little boy who was yawning constantly, with a small mouth opening and closing.

Thinking how this little doll was Maxim’s and Diana’s, Ivy’s emotions bubbled up and her heart lted. She felt like an old hen who watched her chicks grow up and migrate to live their happy life.

She was imdiately distracted from the previous question she asked Logan and watched him walking back into the mansion.

She held Angel’s hand and followed after the man.

"Hmm, coming to think of it, he held you just like this before, haha," Ivy said to Angel, "So careful and fidgety that one would find it cute."

The man in front of her continued walking but no one noticed a tint of red on the tip of his ears.

...

"Now that all of them have left, the mansion feels too big," Ivy sighed and slumped back on the couch, popping a grape in her mouth.

There was no response to her words. She turned to look at Daisy who was sitting on the couch. Angel had her head placed in Daisy’s lap while she watched television.

A bored look lingered on the little girl’s face. She usually had that face whenever she watched a show that she had watched quite a few tis.

Daisy absent-mindedly stroked the girl’s hair, not responding to her calls.

"...Daisy... Daisy..!"

’’Huh? Ah, yes," Daisy snapped out of her reverie and turned to look at Ivy, "Did you say sothing?"

"Is sothing bothering you?" Ivy was concerned.

When Daisy did not respond, Ivy blinked, "You have been like this the whole day. You are so absent-minded. Are you missing Dee already?"

Ivy could not think of another reason than Daisy missing Diana. The two sisters got along rather well and had a good relationship but they were separated by different circumstances.

Ivy could not think of another reason why Daisy was so ruffled.

"I.." Daisy gulped down the words lingering at the tip of her tongue, "I am tired."

"Really?" Ivy was not buying that.

Daisy opened her mouth but then closed it.

She looked around. The living room was mostly empty as the servants had retreated to the servant quarters. The place was dimly lit.

Ryle was in the room upstairs that had been assigned to him when he ca to Chen Mansion for the first ti. But the man refused to stay there, treating Daisy’s room as his own instead.

Even though he did not stay there, he usually used that room to deal with work related matters.

Currently, Benjamin had arrived at the mansion and from the look on Ryle’s face, it seed like they had things to discuss.

So, in the living room, it was just Daisy, Ivy and Angel.

Seeing that Daisy remained silent, Ivy could not help but worry. But in the end, since she did not want to talk about it, she could not push it either.

"Ivy," Daisy called out to her, "Tell , have you ever been in love?"

The question stumped both the won at the sa ti.

Daisy did not know what ss had occupied her head after her conversation with Diana but sohow, she could not stop thinking about it so she blurted out the question

But when she saw Ivy’s face, Daisy had a flicker of interest, "You have?" She was a bit surprised.

Ivy scratched the back of her neck, suddenly being put under the spotlight like that, "When I was in university, I had a boyfriend."

"Mm, continue."

"He was a jerk."

Daisy paused.

"So, we broke up."

"_"

"That’s it?"

Ivy turned her neck coyly, "Unless you want to get into the details?"

Daisy was speechless. It seed like she would not find any answers but only more questions if she genuinely got into the details.

...

In the room upstairs, Benjamin was holding a file in his hand, flipping through the pages while he waited for Ryle to say sothing.

It has been more than sowhat 15 minutes since he had been sitting there, waiting to report his findings but his Boss seed rather absent-minded.

Benjamin’s mind was going blank with every second that passed in silence.

For one, he could not tell what his Boss was thinking. When he called the man to tell him that he had things to report, the man asked him over to Chen Mansion out of all other places.

Initially, he had been startled because in his mind, his Boss had already found his childhood sweetheart whom he had been searching for for a long ti. And not only that, he even kept her in his LA mansion.

So, he naturally assud that he would not be having any entanglents with Daisy anymore.

But then, the man ca to Beijing overnight and appeared just in ti to rescue Daisy.

Thinking of that, Benjamin sighed again.

"What are you sighing so much for?" Ryle gazed at the man.

Benjamin froze, "Heh... Cough... Nothing.. Nothing..."

Ryle frowned, looking at the weird guy.

"Boss... don’t you think..." Benjamin gulped but in the end, he held back his tongue. He did not want to lose it anyti soon so he refrained himself from asking what his Boss was thinking, getting himself involved in such a situation where he kept a woman at his mansion, and stayed with another woman at her mansion.

"You... Visit Artemis Hospital once you get a breather from work," Ryle said coldly, "They have a new therapist there. You can ntion my na to get a discount."

Benjamin felt like a fishbone was stuck in his throat. He could not spit it out nor could he gulp it down.

He could only gulp down his grievances.

Ryle leaned back on the headboard of the bed as he spoke, "What did you discover?"
