Initially, Logan had tried to ignore the heavy gaze on him but with the passage of ti, it seed to be more and more piercing.

He turned to find Ryle staring at him unblinkingly.

Logan paused, "Mr. Harper, I didn’t notice you earlier," he greeted the man, thinking that the person had gotten displeased over his lack of greeting.

It was fine he had not greeted him but now that he was greeting him and looking at him with that faintly helpless gaze, Ryle scoffed in his mind.

Is this vixen pretending to be in a helpless situation to get Daisy’s attention?

Alert and on guard, he pushed himself to his feet, "No need. I was just thinking that it is not necessary that family have to address each other by their first nas. After all, you both have not interacted much with each other so that makes sense..."

Daisy looked at Ryle with a grateful gaze for helping her out of the awkward situation.

Logan nodded, finding sense in the man’s words.

"Moreover it is natural that you both respect each other. And when it cos to family, family lies in heart. Daisy is like a sister to you so naturally, you don’t need to overthink about trivialities," Ryle smiled at Logan but those eyes seed to be staring daggers straight into the man’s soul.

Logan nodded, still feeling sothing was amiss. He wondered if he offended this man sohow but rembering that he had no such records, he decided that his eyes were just playing tricks.

The rest of the people also believed that sothing was amiss with Ryle’s words but they could not put a finger on what it was.

Except for Diana whose erald eyes were slightly sparkling as they traveled back and forth between Ryle and Daisy.

After lunch, Diana dragged Daisy to her room.

It had been a long ti since they got a chance to talk to each other properly. Even the last ti they parted, it had been rushed. Daisy had to take over the responsibilities of the company and Diana had just given birth.

After the revelation of their parents’ past, her weak condition, and the new responsibilities on Daisy’s shoulders, she did not know what to do. Or even how to face Daisy. She wanted to help her out with the company but she knew that even if she extended a hand, it would not last for long. Sooner or later, she was bound to pull back.

The spark that Daisy had for business, she did not possess that despite the special education that she had also received.

So, rather than giving Daisy a temporary hand and then leaving her alone in that coldness, Diana had consciously made the choice to step back.

She had her heart set though. The mont Daisy showed signs of discomfort, or when it seed like she could not hold on anymore, then Diana would step forward and persuade her to cease her futile efforts.

She would have reminded Daisy that they had an identity outside of being a mber of the Chen family. So, if doing business did not suit her then she did not have to sacrifice her peace over it.

Since their father could give up everything for their mother and retreat to a secluded place, then Daisy also had the right to choose the sa path. She did not need to walk down a path that others had paved for her.

But as weeks passed by, much to Diana’s surprise, Daisy did not collapse. Her initial exhaustion and reluctance had long beco an illusion.

And as days passed by, there was more and more news regarding Chen Corporation. Yet none of them declared the company’s bankruptcy or impending downfall.

It was only then did Diana realized that she had been too naive. In her naivety, she had underestimated Daisy and forgotten what her elder sister was capable of when she was in her elent.

Daisy sat on the couch quietly with her face propped on her fist as she glanced at Diana’s face which seed to be changing color like seasons.

From grief to hope, from hope to despair, from despair to mischief.

Daisy suddenly felt speechless.

After what seed like an eternity, Diana finally snapped out of her senses, and without any qualms, she threw herself in Daisy’s arms.

Daisy froze for a brief mont but her cold eyes gradually softened under the dim lighting of the room. She raised her hand and stroked Diana’s back, "How have you been?"

She asked the sa question that she had already asked outside. But without the presence of anyone, Diana understood what Daisy was implying. If sothing was bothering her, she could go all out and cling to the golden thigh of her elder sister without holding back.

Seeing the ’fangirling’ expressions on Diana’s face, Daisy knew that she had probably slipped in another bout of her delusions.

Daisy arched her brow.

Diana shook her head, "I swear. You know how it is on my side already."

Daisy nodded as she knew it. The Qin family pampered Diana to bits. Alex, Maxim’s brother who was irrevocably wilful in the family, was on a fairly good note with Diana.

Even though Daisy had seen them bickering in past gatherings, there was not much animosity between them. As for Logan, he talked only as much as it was needed for him to talk, the epito of a perfect gentleman and the future heir of the Qin family so he would not bother with trifles. Not to ntion that he had known Diana from way earlier.

And then there were Maxim and his mother, Hazel, both of whom Daisy was very familiar with. With them around, Diana would not be wronged in the slightest.

"Is everything fine in the company?" Diana sat up and asked after a mont of hesitation, snapping Daisy out of her wandering thoughts.

"The company is fine," Daisy leaned back on the couch.

A/N: *hugging a golden thigh essentially is a Chinese slang that refers to ’finding a powerful protector’.
