’’Hey, it’s the first ti I tried making it. It might not be good...’’ Ryle tried to stop her but she continued eating everything that he had made for the first ti, instead of going for the safer choices.

’’They are nice,’’ Daisy calmly said.

Seeing that there was nothing he could do about this, Ryle shifted her attention back to her question, ’’She asked about you. And then started talking about everything she has been doing,’’ he did not notice how indulgent his tone sounded as he spoke, ’’It has been a few days since I saw her. She must be missing too.’’

Daisy arched an eyebrow. Undoubtedly, Angel missed him and she knew how many tis she had tried her best to keep her distracted so she would not be upset.

’’So, you just focus on eating for now. Everything is fine over there,’’ Ryle continued.

Daisy nodded.

As they ate, Ryle could feel that Daisy still seed a bit off and he could not help but think of how anxious she had looked earlier.

Initially, he thought it was just a nightmare and she would forget it in no ti but seeing that she was still bothered by it, he could not sit still, ’’Is there sothing on your mind?"

Daisy instinctively shook her head.

But after a while, she sighed and put down the spoon in her hand, ’’When I woke up, I felt like I went back to that night.’’

’’It has been a long ti since I let myself think about it. I...’’ Daisy pinched the spot between her brows, not knowing what to say.

Suddenly, she felt a warmth on the back of her hand.

Ryle intertwined their fingers and and stroked her hand gently.

Even without her explaining it any further, he understood the night she was talking about.

She never talked about it and he knew that it had left a shadow in her heart. She was caught off guard, spent a night with so stranger and then consequently got pregnant. And, she had to deal with him, the jerk of a boss of hers, her family, her arranged marriage, and then she lost tracks of her child and her sister.

Ryle felt a hand clenching his heart just at the thought of everything she went through.

’’Have you been looking for him?"

Daisy frowned, ’’No.’’

Back then, she had misunderstood the man whom Ryle had captured as that person but later, she confird that it was not him.

’’Initially, I wanted to track him down and...’’ Daisy’s lips thinned.

Needless to say, Ryle understood her intentions. Daisy was drugged and taken advantage of.

She had wanted to track that man down and avenge herself for the humiliation she suffered. It was already that bastard’s blessing that he had not been captured yet.

’’Now, I don’t want to look for him anymore,’’ Daisy continued after a pause, ’’I want to have nothing to do with him.’’

Back when she was pregnant, she had been furious and lost and she was filled with thoughts of revenge. But now, that was not her focus anymore. As long as he did not co looking for troubles, she would let him live.

’’About today...’’ Daisy blinked her eyes, ’’I... Back then, when I woke up, the room was empty and bright. I was all by myself. Today, when I woke up, I got confused. My first ti was such a disaster that I got muddleheaded...’’ as she talked about it, she suddenly felt embarrassed about her reaction earlier.

Daisy rubbed her nose and averted her gaze.

But for once, Ryle did not laugh at her embarrassnt. His eyes were dark and a storm was brewing in his heart.

’’Ryle?" When he did not say anything, she turned to look at him.

Ryle pulled her into his arms, placing his chin on her head, ’’It’s my fault. I should have been there by your side.’’

Daisy was instantly comforted by the hug. Sothing inside her seed to have beco lighter. But when she heard his words, she paused, ’’What are you talking about? How is it your fault?"

Ryle tapped her nose lightly, watching her eyes widen.

The doorbell rang at this ti, interrupting them both.

’’I’ll check,’’ Daisy moved to stand but Ryle tapped her shoulder.

’’Sit here and finish eating. You have yet to touch the dessert,’’ With that, he walked off to the door.

Daisy glanced at the dining table that was full of various dishes. They were just two people yet he had prepared so much food that can pass off for so feast.

What Daisy did not know was that for a person who rarely cooked, Ryle was worried that so of the dishes might be complete failures and in case, they were not edible, he kept making more and more backup till the table was full.

While eating, Daisy peeked at the door but all she could see was Ryle’s back alongwith a familiar voice.

When Ryle ca back, he was holding a few bags in his hand. He watched Daisy who was still engrossed in eating.

’’You must be really hungry,’’ Ryle remarked.

It was rare for her to have a good appetite. Most of the tis, she skipped her als.

Daisy could hear the insinuation in his words, ’’You have cooked so much. It will be a waste.’’

Hearing her straightforward words, Ryle chuckled, ’’So does it an you are unwilling to waste these because I made them?"

Daisy did not bother responding.

Ryle suppressed his laughter, ’’Don’t force yourself. I will finish it all if you can’t eat anymore, alright?"

Daisy finally paused. She wiped her mouth and looked at him, ’’Really?"

From the looks of it, she already seed bloated.

Ryle was speechless.

’’Co, co,’’ he held her hand and led her to the couch, ’’You can take a nap for so ti. Then we will go back.’’

Probably because she just woke up, Daisy did not feel like sleeping anymore. Instead, she just leaned back on the couch.

Suddenly, sothing occurred to her when he uttered the last sentence.
