The group stayed in the hospital for two days till Diana’s condition beca better. The child was also condition. Since the mother and child were both healthy, the doctor agreed to discharge them upon Diana’s insistence.
This ti, Daisy did not hide the matter about their parents’ abrupt departure from Diana after last ti’s incident. She even showed her the letter that her father left for her and told her everything in detail. Although Diana was emotional, it was no longer filled with worry. She was equally happy that their parents were together this ti.
At this point, since they did not know where Alice and Helian had left, both of them could only pray for their well-being. It was not like Daisy could not track them down but she believed that they would co back when they felt ready. And their mother, at this mont needed emotional and physical healing so it was only good for her.
Ever since she had seen her little brother, Angel refused to leave her side. She even refused to sleep. When she was asleep, she would stare with her wide eyes till her sleep was gone. If not for Daisy forcefully tucking her into her arms and putting her to sleep, the girl would refuse to let the little boy get out of her sight.
She even nad him. With her wobbling finger pointed at him and called him Bun and the crazy ’Angel fanatics’ in the house—Ryle, Diana, and Maxim accepted the na wholeheartedly.
’’Mommy mommy... Bun...’’ Angel looked at her with teary eyes when Daisy took her from Diana’s room.
Daisy poked the girl’s cheek softly, ’’You don’t plan to eat anymore?"
It looked like the little girl’s tears would fall any mont.
Daisy’s heart lted and she kissed her face a few tis gently, ’’Be a good girl and eat well. We all will be going ho together so you can see Bun there.’’
Angel looked at her and blinked a few tis before she nodded her head like an adult, surprising Daisy montarily. She knew her little girl could already understand and perceive things around her but the prompt reaction still surprised her.
What a magical little thing she was.
Later that day, Diana, Maxim, and Daisy left for Chen Mansion.
Before Helian Chen left, he had organized everything at the mansion for his children so that they would not have any issues getting used to the place. He had inford the Butler of his departure.
Hence, when they arrived at the mansion, it did not seem like anything big had happened in recent days. The chefs had prepared a huge feast to welco their little young miss and little young master and all of them.
The butler seed to have grown a pair of wings as he flew here and there.
Not long after they had arrived in the mansion, there was another ’guest’ who showed up as well.
It was none other than Ryle who had left the hospital early in the morning saying that he had so work to attend to.
Daisy was slightly surprised when she saw him at the Chen Mansion. After all, she had assud that it would take him so ti to finish his work.
He walked in life he owned the place and the servants or the guards did not even stop him. They even respectfully greeted him. Who were they kidding?
The servants had seen their little miss leaving with the man as if they were close so they had assud that this man was of no ordinary identity. As for the guards, they witnessed how cozy this man was to their elder miss in the hospital, and although it seed that their elder miss was not very pleased but she not resisting either. Hence when this tee was exchanged between the two parties, they concluded that they had to treat Ryle well. He held potential.
Daisy could see the butler sprouting another pair of wings as he went to Ryle and flattered him quite a few tis before asking him to join them for dinner later.
Daisy felt a burning gaze on her.
She turned her head and found her sister, who was rocking the child in her arms looking at her with burning eyes.
And suddenly, Daisy fell speechless. She could not understand what everyone was so enthusiastic about.
Daisy kept a straight face throughout the dinner.
Later that night, Diana and Maxim retreated to Diana’s room, Daisy and Angel slept in her room whereas the butler got the servants to clean and prepare the best guest room for Ryle. Whether it was intentional or unintentional that he chose the guest room closest to her room, Daisy had no idea.
After Angel dozed off, Daisy could not fall asleep instantly. Her mind kept wandering off to the events of the past few days. And how everything wrapped up was rather surreal.
But still, this was not the end. There were other matters that she was not addressing yet.
Thinking of that, Daisy turned to the side and looked at Angel who was sleeping peacefully. The little girl seed to have lost her way with her intensively playing and running around. Daisy could not help but reach out to stroke the little girl.
At this mont, her movents stopped suddenly because, from the slight gap under the door, she could see a shadow lurking in the distance.
Daisy draped a robe over her satin nightdress and went to open the door but before she could say a word, she was hugged from the waist and lifted in a princess carry.
Daisy’s eyes widened, ’’You...’’ she looked at the man in disbelief.
During dinner, he was yawning constantly and telling Maxim how he had an exhausting day and he needed rest.
She thought he had gone to sleep already even though a small nagging voice in her heart was telling her that this midnight intruder could be no one but him.
’’Weren’t you exhausted?"
’’Who is exhausted? I am up for anything?" Ryle carefully peeked at the little princess who was sleeping peacefully and stole her mother away without a sense of sha. He doubted little Angel would mind it.
She did not what he ant when he said ’anything’ but the things that passed through her mind made her face turn red slightly.
’’What are you even thinking of?" the man asked in a teasing tone.
’’Shut up,’’ Was he a vampire? Didn’t he want to sleep at night? "Where are you taking to?"
’’To the gardens.’’
"No, we can’t go there,’’ Daisy was imdiately alert.
’’Why?"
’’There are guards at the door and the entrance also,’’ she explained seriously.
’’The place in between both the places is vacant. I noticed that on my way here.’’
"_"
Daisy was speechless but before she could say anything, she saw him taking an alternative route till they reached the garden without falling into the watchful eyes of the guards.
Daisy was even more speechless. It did not seem like it was his first ti around here at all.
Ryle placed her on the wooden bench and took a seat next to her.
But in the next mont, Daisy was stunned when the man suddenly lifted his long legs that did not even fit on the bench, bent them, and placed his head on her lap.
"What happened?" Daisy questioned.
"Daisy, what are your plans?" Ryle lifted his head to et her gaze.
Daisy was sowhat taken aback by the look in his eyes. Unlike his playful and mischievous self, he looked rather sincere and solemn, "Plans about what?" She whispered.
"About us."
Her heart thrumd.
"I want you in my life. I want you around. It’s good even if I just get to see you from afar but it will be for the best if I am there with you, every waking hour, and at the end of the day."
Daisy could hear the sound of her heart beating in her ears.
"And I hope you would want the sa too," he raised his hand and wrapped it around her neck before he pulled her closer to his face.
There was just a few inches of gap between their lips and Daisy could feel the sll of his cologne invading her senses.
Ryle did not know what it was or when it started but the past few days when he was away from her, he knew that he hated the distance between them. He wanted her closer, nearer. If she wanted to be angry at him, she could be so at a nearer distance, and even that sounded better than staying away from her.
Daisy was stunned beyond words.
