Oriana knew it was wrong, akin to selling her soul to the devil, but what else could she do? She could not remain ignorant and helpless, waiting for another witch capable of teaching her to appear who knows when.

She had to act, to grab this chance. She didn’t care what she would have to go through, or even if she were to be blad for patronizing the enemy.

As the saying goes, ’The end justifies the ans.’

For her grandfather, Oriana did all reckless things which could have gotten her killed by now. She trespassed and robbed the rchant group in Azures Island. She scamd plenty of people, from her own village friends to the nobility of Karlin, even going as far as to deceive the royal family.

Everything else was negligible.

Now, aside from Phil, a new person had breached the wall Oriana surrounded herself with. It was Arlan, and to protect him, it was necessary for her to know how to use her powers. For that, she didn’t mind stepping inside the enemies’ den.

"Very well!" Rosetta spoke. "I agree. I will teach you."

Oriana’s expression rely smiled and simply said, "I look forward to our lessons, Lady Rosetta."

"Not even a ’thank you’? I thought you would be overwheld with happiness after I agreed."

"Then, Lady Rosetta should also thank for giving you a chance to take advantage of once. After all, you had gone through so much trouble to get close to you."

Oriana’s words were clear— that she didn’t owe Rosetta anything and this was rely a transaction. Both would get sothing in return from each other.

A partnership where both parties were equals.

’So bold!’ Rosetta just eyed her for a mont, and her lips curved into a lovely smile. ’I am growing to like her more. If such a strong young woman inherits my will and becos my legacy inheritor, worshiping as a master instead of only a teacher, she will be the most powerful Queen of Witches, unparalleled in the mortal world.’

Oriana didn’t waver under her gaze though she knew Rosetta was testing her by asking so questions. It was not easy to fool a woman like Rosetta.

"Rember the price of our deal. One day, you have to do what I ask you in exchange for teaching you."

"I will rember," Oriana assured.

Though just like Oriana, Rosetta didn’t show her happiness on the surface, inside she was glad that she achieved what she wanted sooner than expected. She aid to teach Oriana. Even if Oriana currently had reservations about her, Rosetta’s identity would be her teacher.

As long as Rosetta taught her properly, sincerely, wholeheartedly, she believed that she would gain Oriana’s goodwill, if not her trust.

Oriana’s only condition was for her to not be ’evil’ and be forced to harm a person...Such a kind child, would she be able to refuse her teacher in the future? What if enemies were to hurt Rosetta, with a debt of gratitude, would Oriana not at least save her?

When the ti ca, she would be able to use her effortlessly.

Oriana started, "Then our lessons..."

"Words are not enough to prove your sincerity and assure that you won’t back down." Rosetta said all of a sudden.

"What more do you want to do to assure you?" Oriana wondered out loud, before she stood up, as if she made her mind. "Though I know how to keep my words, if that is what you want, let’s sign an agreent. I will get paper and ink. Please wait."

In reply, a laugh escaped from Rosetta.

Oriana looked at her, checking if she said sothing wrong.

"Sign an agreent?" Rosetta spoke. "You say you are a witch and you want to do it the way of those pathetic humans? Can those useless written agreents be even trusted and enforced? What good is a piece of paper between witches?"

Oriana realized that the woman’s words made sense.

"Then what do you suggest?"

"Let show you how our people do it," Rosetta said. "Co here."

Oriana was taken aback, but quietly went towards Rosetta. Rosetta stood up as well, and the two won faced each other, one curious while the other amused.

"Give your hand."

Oriana put her hand forward and Rosetta held it in hers. The next mont, Rosetta pricked her thumb nail in Oriana’s palm and blood sipped out of it, but before the blood could stain the floor, the droplets floated in the air.

"Make an oath, Oriana."

Feeling the solemnity in the room, the young witch carefully chose her words before saying them out loud.

"In exchange for teaching witch spells of our kind, I, Oriana, am willing to repay the Black Witch who introduced herself to as Rosetta Kezia with one favor, as long as it is within my ans, and will not bring harm to an innocent person."

Black smoke surrounded her blood, making them rge with that darkness which flew towards the free hand of Rosetta, turning into a rune-like tattoo surrounding her wrist.

She let go of Oriana’s hand, her gray eyes curving into a smile

"Do not take your Oath of Blood lightly. If you break our deal, this spell made from your own blood mixed with my black magic will hurt the person you cherish the most."

Oriana was taken aback, and anger began to burn in her eyes. "You, you didn’t say this beforehand! Why did you bring a third person between us?"

But Rosetta rely raised a brow at her reaction. "Does that an if not for a third person you were planning to break your blood oath?"

"No, I will keep my words even without this spell."

"If you are so determined to keep your words, then there is no need to worry about hurting another. Just consider it an empty clause in our agreent. Also, since the blood oath is complete, the terms cannot be taken back."

Oriana gritted her teeth.

Rosetta continued, "Let make one thing clear. It’s not just any ordinary spell but a curse casted from your own blood. It is a curse of your own making, so if you break the deal, this curse will find that most cherished person on its own. Your own magic will tornt them to death."

’This wicked woman!’
