Chapter 136: The torture
Once Mila fell asleep, Dominic left after securing her safety. He came back to the island.
The moment he arrived, he headed straight toward the underground dungeon.
The guards standing outside immediately bowed their heads respectfully.
"Boss."
Dominic acknowledged them with a curt nod before walking inside.
The damp air smelled of blood and rust. Agonized groans echoed faintly through the dark corridor.
Dominic stopped in front of Ethan’s cell first.
Ethan looked miserable. Blood stained the bandages wrapped around his chest, and his face had turned pale from pain and blood loss.
The moment he saw Dominic approaching, panic exploded across his face.
"Take me to the hospital," he shouted frantically. "I’ll bleed to death at this rate."
Dominic’s expression remained cold and unreadable.
"So what?" His deep voice echoed terrifyingly inside the dungeon.
He stepped closer, his intimidating aura suffocating Ethan instantly. "You drugged Mila. Then you tried to force yourself on her."
His eyes darkened murderously. "You deserve far worse than this."
"I-I’m sorry," Ethan apologized immediately, fear taking over completely. "I made a mistake. I swear I’ll never go near her again. Please let me go."
Dominic stared at him silently for a few seconds before speaking again. "Back then, I only attacked your business. If I wanted to, the entire Shaw family could’ve disappeared long ago."
Ethan’s expression froze. Until now, he had believed the collapse of his business had happened because of Mila and her connection to the Nexon Group. But facing Dominic now, he finally realized the horrifying truth.
The man standing before him was far more dangerous than he had imagined. Ethan realized he had messed with someone formidable, someone he shouldn’t have provoked.
"But I stopped after teaching you a lesson," Dominic continued coldly. "I thought you would learn. But instead, you crossed the line. I’ll destroy you and the entire Shaw family."
Dominic stepped further closer and suddenly pressed his foot hard against Ethan’s gunshot wound.
"Ah..." Ethan’s cry shook the entire dungeon. Fresh blood seeped through the bandages immediately.
"Please, let me go..."
But Dominic showed no mercy. He continued pressing harder, his expression frighteningly indifferent.
Ethan’s screams gradually weakened until he finally lost consciousness from the unbearable pain.
Only then did Dominic slowly remove his foot and step back.
"The dead shouldn’t come for you so quickly," he muttered coldly.
Then he turned and walked out of the cell area.
One of the guards approached immediately.
"What about that guy?" Dominic asked. "Did he talk?"
"Yes, boss." The guard lowered his head slightly. "He revealed that Mr. Bellini will be traveling to Italy tomorrow for a business trip. Only a few delegates will accompany him. No guards."
A dangerous gleam appeared in Dominic’s eyes.
Mr. Bellini was one of the core members.
Mr. Bellini was one of the core team members.
"He is traveling without protection?" Dominic sneered faintly. "Arrogant."
"Boss, we still shouldn’t underestimate him," the guard warned cautiously. "That man might not be revealing everything."
Dominic fell silent briefly. Then he nodded slowly.
"Keep interrogating him," he ordered calmly. "But I won’t let this opportunity slip away. I’m going to Italy."
Dominic had spent years in Italy while Alejandro was still alive. His influence there remained strong even now.
His men were scattered throughout every corner of the country. Nothing would go wrong. At least, that was what he believed.
"Keep me updated about everything here," he instructed before walking away.
The guard bowed respectfully. "Understood, boss."
As Dominic stepped out of the dungeon, his phone suddenly rang.
The moment he saw Mila’s name flashing on the screen, the coldness in his face softened instantly. A faint smile appeared on his lips.
He answered immediately. "Already awake?"
"Where are you?" Mila’s anxious voice came from the other end. "Why didn’t you wait for me to wake up? Why did you leave me alone again?"
Dominic’s smile deepened slightly. "I had to return to the island," he replied calmly. "How are you feeling now?"
His tone turned teasing. "Still craving me?"
Mila’s cheeks instantly flushed red as fragments of last night flashed through her mind.
"No," she denied quickly, trying to sound stern.
He chuckled. "Really?" His voice lowered into a seductive murmur. "Because last night, you were begging me not to stop."
Heat rushed violently to Mila’s face. "I was drugged," she argued weakly. "I didn’t know what I was doing."
The teasing vanished from Dominic’s face immediately. Worry lines formed across his forehead.
"How did this happen?" he asked darkly. "Where was Valentina? How did Ethan even get near you?"
"It’s not her fault," Mila replied slowly.
Valentina had already explained everything to her earlier and apologized repeatedly. She had also shared her suspicion that Bianca had been involved.
And Mila believed it completely.
"She was with me during the party," Mila explained. "I was talking to the directors and executives. Then a waitress served us drinks. After a few sips, I started feeling strange."
Dominic’s expression hardened dangerously. He immediately assumed Ethan had bribed the waitress. But before he could speak, Mila continued,
"Valentina recognized Bianca disguised as one of the waitresses. I’m sure she helped Ethan."
Dominic’s anger sparked. "I’ll make sure she pays for it."
"Valentina already dealt with her," Mila replied. "Don’t waste your energy on insignificant people."
Then she suddenly changed the topic. "I want to see you."
A warmth spread quietly through Dominic’s chest. Truthfully, he wanted to see her too before leaving for Italy.
"Alright. I’ll come tonight."
"I’ll wait for you."
After ending the call, the softness disappeared from her face immediately. Her gaze slowly shifted toward the woman kneeling nearby.
Bianca.
Her hands were tied behind her back. Tape sealed her mouth shut, and a gun was pointed directly at her head. Despite the fear in her eyes, hatred still burned fiercely within them.
Mila stared at her coldly.
"Bianca," she muttered. "You never learned anything."
Bianca glared back viciously, wishing she could tear Mila apart. But she couldn’t even move freely.
"You tried everything to hurt me. You bullied me, snatched my boyfriend, and even tried to sell me to the brothel. Yet you didn’t stop. You drugged me."
Bianca struggled violently against the ropes, but it was useless. Hatred shone even brighter in her eyes.
"I thought this time you’d finally learn your lesson," Mila said quietly. "But people like you never change. So I won’t be soft-hearted anymore either."
She turned toward Valentina. "Take her away. Punish her however you see fit."
Valentina’s lips slowly curled into a vicious smile. "I’ve been waiting to hear that."
She grabbed Bianca harshly and dragged her outside.
"Mmmph..." Bianca struggled frantically, trying to escape.
But Valentina shoved her into the car mercilessly before locking the doors. Then she climbed in beside her.
"Drive."
The car immediately started moving.
Valentina slowly turned toward Bianca with a terrifying smile. "You drugged Mila. Now it’s your turn to experience fear."
Bianca’s face turned deathly pale. She shook her head desperately, terror filling her eyes.
Valentina chuckled softly. "Relax. I won’t drug you."
But the smile on her face only frightened Bianca more.
"I want you fully conscious," Valentina whispered coldly. "I want you to remember every second of your suffering."
Her eyes gleamed darkly. "The fear. The helplessness. The disgust."
Bianca’s breathing became uneven.
"Until now," Valentina continued calmly, "I only made you serve drinks at the club. But from now on, you’ll serve the guests with your body."
Bianca’s eyes widened in horror instantly.
And seeing that fear finally appear on her face satisfied Valentina completely.
