Athena nodded. "What are you gonna do?"

"What needs to be done."

"I can’t, Cat. I can’t face her... Lord knows what is gonna happen when I do. I don’t want any more mories of her. I don’t wanna see her face. So do it... not just for but for Ares... is that too much to ask? To take on our demons."

I smiled. "No.. You both fought mine, I think it’s ti I do that too..."

"Just promise one thing."

"Anything."

"Make the witch suffer."

"There wasn’t a chance for sothing peaceful to begin with."

Athena smiled. "T-Thank you, Cat," She blinked away the tears.

I left the room. Isaac was still outside.

"It’s ti."

"Are you sure you wanna do it? You do realize there’s gonna be a weight..." he said.

"You sound like you care about my conscience or whatever you think this is."

Isaac took a step closer to . "You’re Vixen. That’s the na they call you in the underworld and make shitbags shit their pants. This is different."

"I have already decided."

A ghostly smirk crossed his lips, and as quickly as it ca, it was gone. "Whatever you say."

The car pulled up at the King’s estate. The car door was opened for by Isaac, and I stepped out, eyeing the building. It was like a dark cloud shrouded the entire place; all life was sucked away.

I walked, and Isaac followed inside. As I road the halls, my eyes scanned everything, and it seed like I was making a trip through a haunted castle.

Dark mories haunted every wall and space to the point I could almost hear them, both things that weren’t revealed to , but for so reason, I could discern everything.

This place was no ho. It was stone walls built in place of a cage, and no amount of luxury could ever hide it.

It didn’t take long as we reached the room we aid for. Isaac opened the door for , and I walked in.

He turned on the lights, and Agatha was startled, eyes wide and erratic as if trying to make sense of her predicant.

It was strange seeing her this way. She always held that persona of power and wit; she was soone who couldn’t be touched. The wife of Elias King. But I guess so statuses are destined to be dropped.

Now she looked like a rat who crawled out of the gutter.

Isaac peeled off the tape from her mouth, and she coughed, spit flying everywhere.

It took a while through wheezing before she lifted her eyes to , those godawful mismatched orbs made my chest burn.

"Y-You..." She clenched her teeth.

I was given a chair, and I sat, crossing my legs.

Agatha looked to Isaac. "What are you doing? You are loyal to Elias, aren’t you? What the fuck are you doing with her?"

"..."

"Get off this!" She yelled at us, trying to break free from her restraints, but to no avail.

I never realized she had such tantrums in her. It was interesting seeing her wail like a madwoman.

She finally eased her shrieks, probably weak, her chest rising and falling heavily as she glared daggers at .

"You were caught trying to flee the city," I began. "You hid pretty well from Ares’ n, but unfortunately not from . My eyes are everywhere."

"Stop this!" she hissed. "Whatever you think you’re doing. This is madness!"

"I should have followed Isaac’s advice to cut off your tongue. You sound like a dying goat."

Disbelief flashed in her gaze.

"Do you know why you’re here, Agatha? Do you know why karma has co to collect?"

She chuckled, mocking the entire situation. "I don’t believe this... Catherine Lane... you’re the one who found , aren’t you? Had tied up to this chair? I didn’t think you had it in you. What will Ares think when he finds out?"

I don’t reply.

"Karma...? What’s that supposed to an? That I have finally t my end? There is no end for . You kill , and Ares is never gonna forgive you. He won’t speak of it, but trust , you will know..."

It’s disturbing how she thinks she has Ares’ mind all wrapped up. She may have left a scar, but that was the thing about scars. They always heal. Especially when the cause of it is erased.

I uncrossed my legs and rose to my feet. "I’ll take it from here," I said to Isaac, and he handed a gun before leaving alone.

I pointed the pistol at her.

"What are you gonna do with that? Shoot ? I told you you can’t kill ," she mocked.

"That’s what you think, don’t you? You pride yourself on thinking he will never break from you. How much more miserable can you be?"

"I wasn’t just his lover, Catherine. I was his mother. I filled a hole Nina couldn’t."

"Lover? Mother? You were never those things, only a disease just waiting to be cleansed."

I tossed the gun. It was fake anyway.

Agatha smiled. "See? You can’t do it and—" She paused as if her brain had been rewired and her other senses picked up. "W-What’s that sll?"

I dipped my hand into my pocket and pulled out the lighter.

Her eyes widened in horror.

My thumb rubbed against the wheel, and a spark was lit.

"For Adrian."

"N-N-No..."

I stroked the wheel again.

"For Athena."

"Catherine, please... let’s talk. W-We can talk, please!"

One last rub against the wheel, and the fla was up.

"For Ares."

"NOOOOOOOO!"

I tossed the lighter, and in my line of vision, it went slow, hanging in midair. Agatha’s mouth hung wide in cries, and when I blinked, the lighter dropped on her lap, catching up in flas.

Agatha’s head snapped back as a gut-wrenching scream ripped from her throat.

The flas danced in the reflection of my glasses as they consud her whole.
