Chapter 57: A Familiar Heaven

Back at the Mar Azura, the gala had resud once the lights were restored. Even though it was already one in the morning, so guests continued to mingle in the ballroom as if nothing had happened, unwilling to waste the final night of their business trip. Others had drifted to the balconies for a cigar or retired for the night.

Far from the ballroom, Nigel was frantically searching for his boss. She had disappeared after excusing herself to the restroom. He was growing increasingly worried after multiple calls and ssages went unanswered, sothing entirely unlike her.

After asking around, he first went to the sa restroom where Aliana had been attacked. But after calling her na several tis and after receiving no response, he was forced to move on.

Releasing a heavy sigh, he wondered if she was in another part of the property or had simply retired for the evening. Regardless, he decided to check her suite one last ti before heading to his own room.

As he approached her door, he was greeted by an unexpected sight.

"Oh god, what are they doing now?" he murmured, spotting two figures engaged in a heated standoff.

"And how can you be certain she’s gone to rest?" Jacob’s voice flared with irritation as he glared at Cillian.

Cillian, however, looked entirely unfazed. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he leaned back slightly against the wall. "Because I ran into her when I was heading back to my room a short while ago. You can either believe

or try disturbing her at your own risk."

There was a sharp edge of challenge in Cillian’s voice that neither of them missed. Both Jacob and Nigel were well aware of how much Aliana loathed having her rest interrupted once she was finished for the day.

Silence reigned between the three n until Nigel finally stepped in. "I think it’s best to leave her be. She ntioned being exhausted earlier. I’ll check on her in the morning."

Jacob turned a sharp, suspicious look on Nigel. "And you’re just ready to believe him?"

Nigel didn’t actually believe the CEO of Archon Group blindly. He had only agreed to shoo away the overly clingy Jacob, so he could check on his boss himself once the others had left.

With how hostile Jacob was being toward Cillian, Nigel wouldn’t be surprised if the man started a brawl with the very company they had just partnered with. If that happened, it would be their nas, not the deal, making headlines in the morning.

"I do, as the boss texted

before heading back to her suite," Nigel lied, drawing an amused look from Cillian, who alone knew what had truly happened.

Cillian’s sharp gaze shifted from the assistant to the infuriated man glaring at them both.

After a few more seconds, Jacob finally relented.

"Fine. I’ll be back in the morning. Anyway, we have to leave for Astoria."

"Don’t worry, Mr Grant. I’ll be here to wake Miss Aliana myself, as it is my duty," Nigel replied, placing deliberate emphasis on the last word, making it clear that Aliana’s matters fell under his responsibility, not Jacob’s persistent interference.

"I’ll still co," Jacob said firmly, casting one last pointed look at Cillian before turning and heading towards his room.

Cillian, however, knew exactly what the assistant was planning. He had no intention of letting Nigel discover that the room was empty.

As soon as Jacob’s footsteps faded, Cillian turned toward Nigel with a wide grin and took a step closer.

Nigel watched him warily. "Aren’t you going back to your room as well?"

The smile on Cillian’s face widened as he looked directly into Nigel’s eyes. "Right after this."

Nigel’s brows furrowed in confusion, but before he could ask what he ant, Cillian’s eyes flared a brilliant, haunting red.

"Your boss is safely asleep in her room," Cillian said, his voice dropping into a rhythmic, hypnotic tone. "It would be rude to disturb her at such a late hour. Co back tomorrow morning and check on her then."

Nigel’s pupils dilated until they nearly swallowed the iris as he stared into that crimson gaze. Then his lips moved, almost robotically.

"Yes... I’ll check on her in the morning."

Satisfied, Cillian smiled, and his eyes faded back to a harmless brown. "Perfect! I’ll see you all in the morning then."

With that, Nigel snapped out of the spell Cillian had placed on him. This ti, he neither moved nor considered checking on Aliana again.

"Have a good night, Mr Pierce," Nigel said, giving a small nod before turning and walking towards his room, his steps oddly chanical.

Releasing a sigh of relief, Cillian murmured, "The things I have to do for you..."

With that, he turned to glance at the door that had remained closed ever since Gavriel had disappeared inside with the young heiress in his arms.

"I really hope she’s in one piece by morning," he muttered under his breath. "Otherwise, we’ll have a rather serious problem to deal with."

With one last look, Cillian finally turned away, his steps quiet as he walked off, disappearing into the silence of his own room.

’It’s so dark.’

That was the first thought that entered her mind as she lay in a familiar bed, surrounded by the sa walls she had visited countless tis before.

As her consciousness slowly returned, her eyelashes fluttered, and her lips parted, an involuntary moan escaping her. The delicious sensation of a tongue devouring her began to pull her back toward that familiar heaven.... a place he had already taken her many tis before.

The sensation was so incredible, so mind-blowing, that her toes curled before digging into the softness of the mattress. Her head pressed back against the headboard as her back arched, her mouth falling open as another, far deeper moan tore from her.

At that, a low, sexy growl rumbled from his chest, vibrating against her skin as his tongue continued to tease her pulsing core. He pushed her toward that heavenly peak, higher and higher with every stroke until... Aliana shattered.

Her hands tangled in the softness of his hair as she reeled from the euphoria he had led her into once again.

While she was still lost in a dazed haze, his possessive, hot hands began to caress her bare thighs, and she felt the weight of his powerful body as he slowly worked his way up to face her.

As soon as her glistering light grey eyes t his icy blue ones, she felt like she was drowning in them.

Her hands moved as if they couldn’t bear to be apart from him for even a second longer, snaking around his neck before weaving into his raven-black hair.

His hand ca to rest on her flushed cheek, his thumb tracing her plump lips as he whispered, "Aliana..."

The mont those sinful lips called her na, her grip on his hair tightened, pulling him closer. Just as she parted her mouth, moving to capture his inviting lips....

Her eyes flew open.
