Chapter 56 : You Have Been Provoking
All Along
Eve endured the challenge of not looking there for 0.001 seconds, defeating 99.99% of users worldwide.
Forcing herself not to look at that mysterious and enticing place was truly difficult — at least more difficult than killing soone.
Was she to pledge loyalty to desire?
Or steady her heart?
Count the sins. Choose.
Even Eve, who had trained her ntal fortitude through years of missions, found her throat moving unconsciously. Her calm gaze wavered slightly.
The distance was very close — so close that if she wished, she could close it in an instant, seize the delicate body, and fall together into the bathtub.
Of course, there were other possibilities.
Act swiftly without further words, or—
In the span of re seconds, countless execution plans flashed through Eve’s mind. After filtering them, only one remained remotely reliable:
Do not act rashly.
……
Vivian’s cheeks were flushed by the steam filling the room. Still stubborn, she said, “Well? Continue. Why are you staring at ?”
“Sotis it is best to focus on your own task and not indulge unrealistic fantasies.”
Eve slowly placed her fingertips on the soft fabric and followed the curve of the waist downward.
She could not help noticing that even the lace panties bore the emblem of the Hatherin Family — a brilliant red rose embellishing the design.
Exquisitely elegant.
Unique and irreplaceable, striking in its impact. Like its wearer, whose crimson hair shone vividly in a world of white.
As the fabric was drawn down completely, the faint sound of breath at her ear gradually turned into gentle panting.
Eve paused and looked up.
Vivian’s face was flushed deeply red, eyelashes trembling, lips pressed together — an expression that stirred a strange urge to disrupt it.
To be honest, that reaction made it difficult for Eve to decide. After a brief hesitation, she spoke softly, “Perhaps Young Miss should remove the rest herself.”
“What? What do you an stop halfway? Continue! If you dare, do it quickly!” Her voice trembled with defiance and refusal to concede.
“I rely think—”
“Do not make
look down on you! Or are you truly incapable?”
Eve: ?
It was hard to persuade soone who would not listen. Anyone could see who would collapse first if this continued.
“Mm…” Vivian bit her lip.
She was certain this person was doing it deliberately.
Moving so slowly, clearly knowing she was sensitive and would not endure it long. She was only a maid with the potential to be loyal like a hound — soone Vivian could simply kick away if she wished…
Watching the panties slide off completely, Vivian finally reached her limit. Behind her stood the bathtub filled with hot water.
Splash.
Without giving the maid another chance to look clearly, she leaned back and plunged into the bath. Warm water washed over her delicate skin; her red hair spread as it touched the surface.
Bubbles rose to the surface.
The bathtub was spacious enough to hold four or five people. At the bottom, Vivian hugged her legs tightly, the flowing water like gentle hands caressing her heated cheeks.
The water felt comfortable.
But not as comfortable as those hands.
No. She should have established the authority of a “master” from the beginning, forced this beautiful maid who failed to recognize hierarchy to bow her head, and cultivated absolute obedience.
Yet thinking back, had she not been the one at a disadvantage from start to finish?
Was she too weak — or was that person too strong?
The water gradually cald, leaving only faint steam rising.
But beneath that calm, there was no movent for a long while — enough to cause concern.
Eve remained standing there, steam dampening her once-dry maid uniform. The splash from Vivian’s sudden movent had soaked much of her skirt.
She still held the soft garnt in her hand, unconsciously squeezing the fabric.
One hand rested on the edge of the bathtub as she leaned forward slightly, crimson eyes calmly fixed on the water’s surface.
And on the red-haired figure beneath it. The undergarnts floated up slowly — apparently removed underwater.
Ti passed.
Eve raised an eyebrow. Was she not coming up yet?
Her lung capacity was impressive. If not for the constant stream of bubbles, one might suspect sothing had gone wrong.
The thought of the daughter of the Hatherin Family eting an absurd end in a bathtub was beyond belief.
Wait… should she not leave?
Eve straightened and turned to go, only to stop at the sudden movent behind her.
Ripples spread across the surface. With a splash, a beautiful red-haired figure erged.
Water stread down her back, strands of hair clinging to her skin and covering her chest. Her gem-like eyes glanced lazily, exuding a breathtaking beauty as though a flower had risen from water.
Vivian looked at Eve, a faint smile curving her lips. She moved to the edge of the tub, resting her elbows on it and supporting her chin with one hand.
“Where are you going?”
Eve turned slightly, revealing one half-lowered eye. “Young Miss, you are bathing. I should not remain here.”
“Heh. Still pretending?” Vivian said disdainfully, crooking a finger. “I did not dismiss you. Co here.”
When Eve did not move, she added lazily, “Did you not claim you were not afraid? I see it was empty bravado. You are quite timid.”
“……”
Eve remained silent, watching the small beauty leaning against the tub.
Her brow lowered faintly — a rare sign.
A clever tactic.
You have been provoking
all along.
