"How long has it been since I’ve felt this way?"
Shenyue felt the boiling blood within her body. Her mories were derived from her original self, and although her capabilities were still at the King level, the experiences she had shared with her original self were very real.
Ever since the establishnt of the Shenwu Guild, she had been without rivals. The Supre Levels of the other guilds would not take action unless it was a critical mont, similar to the saints in ancient mythological novels, whose intervention might even cause the heavens and the earth to collapse. This deterrence caused a non-interference pattern that lasted throughout the following two Eras, just like nuclear weapons between countries.
Therefore, in her mory, let alone a battle of life and death, even the most common skirmish seed a very distant mory...
"Being a demon is quite interesting," Shenyue suddenly said with a laugh.
The Emperor looked at her coldly. Both of them had only enough energy for one more breath, yet there she was, still in the mood to speak...
"I originally thought a second life for my true self would be a boring journey, but now it seems that’s not the case. This kind of thrill is sothing my true self did not anticipate. I will forever rember you, the King of the Human Race."
"Is that so?" The Emperor sneered coldly, "I may not necessarily rember you. On my path to ascent, you are rely an obstacle that’s barely worth ntioning."
"That’s fine too..." Shenyue smiled.
The two of them stopped talking. After all, their energy for one last breath was indeed limited. Although they both had astonishing lung capacities, they could stand for a day without trouble in the absence of combat. But once they made a move, the consumption would skyrocket, and they could run out of breath at any mont.
One move, or maybe two, could mark the limit of life and death for each other.
Everyone around them who was still alive held their breath, watching the two combatants. In an instant, the chaotic battleground beca eerily quiet. The Venerable Ones of the ancient past and the Kings of the present—everyone wanted to know who would win in the end, even the mbers of the Ancient Demon Clan.
This made the atmosphere even more tense than during the height of battle.
But this tension didn’t last long, as the balance was soon disrupted.
The first to move was the Emperor of the Human Race. His action was decisive, just as he’d been when he chose to break through to the King level at the earliest opportunity—such determination, such boldness!
Facing the King of the old era, could this new King change his fate?
The Emperor didn’t ponder this too much. At this mont, he suddenly felt his blood boiling, and countless mories surged into his mind. These were the images of countless ancestors oppressed by demons. The inheritance of the Human Race was transmitted in the form of preserved teachings, unlike the top demons who could directly pass on their lineage through the blood.
Thus, the Human Race was often seen as an inferior species because even the simplest of demons would inherit at least so bloodline abilities, whereas humans had to painstakingly learn from scratch, starting with simple reading.
But at this mont, the Emperor could feel the will of his ancestors.
He suddenly realized why the Human Race lacked this type of inheritance.
It wasn’t because the Human Race wasn’t excellent enough, on the contrary... it was because they were too excellent!
From the dawn of creation, Humans attracted and were slaughtered by the demons. The ancestors of the Human Race, innate as blank slates, were turned into prey for the Myriad Clans before they could grow. It was a terrifying mory of powerlessness, of fearing the coming of night and facing the demons without the slightest chance to fight back, being harvested over and over like pigs and dogs.
The bloodline of the Human Race did not lack inheritance; it had avoided inheritance. With inheritance would co the passing on of mories, and if that terrible mory continued down the generations, it would only keep the Human Race enslaved forever.
If that were the case, figures like himself and Liu Yu would never have erged. The Human Race didn’t need inheritance; even as blank slates, they could stand between heaven and earth.
He was the first to overturn this notion, and perhaps he might not succeed, but at this mont, the boiling blood and the surge of tragic mories inford him that the blood within his veins recognized his rebellion, his approach!
A very domineering punch, with wide-open moves, devoid of any deception—just a straightforward confrontation, a direct challenge.
The speed wasn’t very fast; everyone present could see it, including the West Sea soldiers watching from afar.
But Shenyue knew she couldn’t dodge this punch.
It seed slow, yet the world hadn’t left her any space to evade; the fist had sealed off everything in the world at this mont!
"Good!" The boiling blood made her tremble all over, and her divine skills in her eyes couldn’t spot the slightest flaw.
The Buddhist Sect’s three greatest eye techniques, under this punch, were as if nonexistent.
There was no chance of evasion, no flaws in the move to exploit, the only thing she could do was to et the attack with her strongest divine secret technique.
Really simple and brutal...
Shenyue didn’t like this sort of situation, but she didn’t dislike it either; this feeling was nice, when warriors t on a narrow path, it should be like this...
Suddenly everyone saw that, faced with a punch that sealed off the world, Shenyue actually closed her eyes, her body relaxing to the utmost.
There were not many in the crowd whose eyesight could keep up, only a few including the Empress, who now held her breath, her eyes flashing with concern for the first ti.
People around were marveling at the Emperor’s powerful punch, infused with top-level Golden Crow flas, having an effect almost like a law, destroying everything in its path!
Facing this punch, to be honest, she didn’t know herself at that mont how to counter it.
Yet under such a terrifying montum, that woman opposite had completely relaxed.
Yes, relaxed, utterly so; if she hadn’t felt it impossible, she would have thought her opponent had fallen asleep, more relaxed than a Magician in a ditative state.
The most important was her breath.
Originally, both only had the ti to hold their breath, and clearly, she had exhaled, very gently, very slowly, very long...
With the breath released, she seed to rge with everything around her.
If her brother’s power was about destroying everything, her power was about rging with everything around her.
In her eyes, this state was even more frightening than her own brother’s.
rging with all, as if the person was the center of the world itself, everything around following her will, as if her brother wasn’t fighting a demon, but a whole world.
Everyone watched the battle intensely, and as that terrifying fist was about to make contact, Shenyue finally moved.
Everything around beca black and white, Shenyue’s hands moved with supre gentleness, her movents incredibly languid, slow to an unbelievable degree.
Yet it was this slow motion that caught the Emperor’s punch!
The power that could shatter everything ca to a sudden halt at that mont; clearly, everyone could feel, that force could at least have smashed the entire Imperial Palace’s space again, but when it t Shenyue, it didn’t make a sound.
The incredibly terrifying power, as if it had vanished, was blocked by the woman with one move, and the magnificent force instantly dissipated as if it was never there, as if the horrendous extinction scenario was just an illusion.
The Emperor was the one who felt this the most.
The sensation was indescribably odd; as if the power to destroy everything had hit cotton, but what kind of cotton could possibly withstand his power?
He didn’t know, all he knew was that if he didn’t do sothing more, he was going to lose!
