What’s the nature of this unsettling sense of crisis?

As the Emperor chased his opponent, the feeling of unease within him grew stronger. His many years of combat experience told him that this was not rely an illusion, but a tangible crisis—his opponent had definitely done sothing that made him feel this way. But what had they done?

"Why are you not moving anymore?" Shenyue maintained a distance of about ten ters, matching the Emperor’s speed every ti he accelerated. The safe distance between them was maintained at ten ters.

The Emperor did not respond verbally but instead closed his eyes, stretching his senses to their limits.

He had begun to adapt to his opponent’s speed. Ten ters was a critical point; crossing it ant either could burst forward and kill the other at any mont.

Therefore, this distance was a sensitive line. The opponent, being very cunning, always stayed at this exact distance, preventing him from being distracted or stopping to think...

Shenyue watched him, and with the Emperor’s eyes closed, this seed like an opportunity. Yet, for so reason, she hesitated to strike imdiately, feeling that his current state was even more terrifying than before. Despite his eyes being shut, his aura was like a taut bowstring.

She felt that if she stepped into that range, his counterattack would be unprecedentedly fierce, and this sniffed of danger to her.

Of course... in such a state, he had to be fully concentrated, which clearly ant he had no chance of looking elsewhere.

After a long silence, the Emperor finally spoke, "I... am not poisoned..."

Shenyue gave a faint smile but admired him internally. This man was indeed the most formidable mber of the Human Race she had encountered since the Reincarnation; he had quickly sensed that sothing was amiss.

"Do you think I need to use such thods to deal with you?"

"Why wouldn’t I?" the Emperor opened his eyes, his brows tightly furrowed. The opponent had hurt his throat just now, and if she had poisoned him then, her chances of winning would have significantly increased.

"You have the Poison King Gu given to you by Mister Five Poison on you, don’t you?" Shenyue said softly.

The Emperor laughed; his opponent had thoroughly researched him, it seed.

"Well then, it seems your thods are limited. Mister Five Poison is just a non-transcendent demon, yet you cannot even decipher his poison sac!"

"It seems... you don’t understand the value of the Five Masters," Shenyue suddenly laughed. "The Five Masters cannot transcend; they are different from other foreign species. They originate from humans, and if the Human Race does not massively transcend, the Five Masters cannot either. I doubt even they are aware of this."

The Emperor: "..."

"But, you know, the universe is fair. High limitations have given them an extrely high capacity for power. Mister Five Poison is indeed not transcendent, but his poison is unrivaled under heaven, not even by the transcendent, and his poison sac contains a Poison King Gu, a type that feeds on other poisons. Anything else only nourishes it. Given that this sac is a life-bound item for Mister Five Poison and it ended up with you, it seems Your Majesty has exceptional charm."

"Truly, a senior who has lived through such ancient tis knows far more than I," the Emperor took a deep breath, sensing the poison sac in his body.

It was, indeed, given to him by Mister Five Poison. As long as Mister Five Poison lived, he himself... would be invulnerable to any poison!

However, whether the sac could guard against these Ancient Forces, he wasn’t sure, hence the earlier probing.

It seems she may not have lied, which ans that the crisis I sense in my heart isn’t related to poison?

Then what could it be?

"How long can you keep up this state?" Shenyue, with a smiling deanor, continued to hover around but never ca within ten ters.

His highly tense state, while making her hesitant to approach lightly, demanded imnse energy consumption. He was gambling by using this consumption to buy ti for thought. Such tenacity was extraordinary, especially in these circumstances when he dared to use up physical strength to gain thinking space, as opposed to other warriors who would consider such strength as precious.

The Shenwu Guild’s think tank considered him the most dangerous human, even more so than the King of Qin, and it seems they... were not wrong.

Today... he must die here!

"Your Majesty... we’re not in the real world, are we?"

Shenyue: "....."

"Thought so." The Emperor opened his eyes. "The mont you attacked suddenly was when I was trying to confirm the location of the Imperial Sister. I admit it was wrong to be distracted then, but your move seed to warn against distraction as well as to teach a lesson."

"You push so hard and yet seem aimless, which is suspicious, so I believe you are buying ti."

"Is that what you think?" Shenyue laughed. "A person who can sche against the King of Qin and the Black Empress is indeed quick-witted. But since you say I am delaying, why don’t you tell why I would do that?"

"Clearly because it poses a lethal threat to Your Majesty!" The Emperor sneered. "My Imperial Sister would definitely have co to assist by now, and no one could possibly stop her or her army!"

"You do have great confidence in her."

"I certainly do..." The Emperor firmly stated. "In this world, she is my strongest support and will never disappoint ."

"But she hasn’t co."

"She has co; she just hasn’t found it yet!" The Emperor spoke somberly. "If she couldn’t be stopped, then hiding from her is the only possibility I can think of. If I’m not mistaken, you must have used so ans to pull into a false world."

The Emperor gestured around him. "Everything here looks exactly like the outside world, even the dynamic rules after destruction are very similar... but you overlooked one thing."

"What?" Shenyue raised an eyebrow.

"People..." The Emperor sneered. "You can’t mimic people here, so there’s no one else here. Even if my Imperial Sister hasn’t co, at this ti, surely people from the Ancient Demon Clan in the Southern Sea have already been subdued by the magicians? With such a unified goal of killing before the Imperial Sister arrives, why hasn’t he made a move yet? Especially when I was montarily distracted just now?"

Shenyue: "....."

"The reason is simple, because he can’t. If the Imperial Sister can’t find , neither can he. This is a false world where only you and I exist. Am I right?"

Clapping ensued!

Upon hearing this, Shenyue dropped all pretense and burst out laughing: "Impressive, impressive. The Black Empress’s defeat at your hands wasn’t undeserved!"

The Emperor looked at him, frowning deeply. Even if this world is false, what does it imply?

Is it actually targeting his Imperial Sister and the Ghost Army?

No...

No matter how one looks at it, targeting him is simpler than targeting the Imperial Sister and the Ghost Army. There’s no reason to deal with the difficult targets first. Since they are collaborating and he is capable, why not pull the high priest of the Ancient Demon Clan in to confront him as well?

This woman managed to pull him into this false world undetected; that ans she should also be able to pull a few more people in, right?

Why is there no helper?

If one were to say this woman alone could easily deal with him, that doesn’t make sense either...

The only possibility then is, in this false world, others... dare not co!

His sense of crisis would not mislead him...

The Emperor took a deep breath and spoke gravely, "If I am not mistaken... when a certain ti limit is reached in this place, you... could directly kill , right?"

"Tsk..." Shenyue clicked her tongue, finding him truly troubleso. Without any support or intelligence, he had quickly grasped the situation here.

Indeed... the Art of All Things is a harbinger of the Buddha Kingdom. In this world, given ti, everything here can change according to her will, including the people drawn into it!
