"Lord Chen, what should we do?"

Among the chaotic forces, the Southern Sea influence could not be ignored. As the force with the most Dragon Transford Sorcerers, it now seed it had beco marginalized.

When faced with the question, Chen Baifeng rolled his eyes.

What else could they do? At this ti, it was best not to make any trouble and avoid drawing attention. Seeing the way these old fellows were acting, did they really still want to get involved?

Suddenly, Chen Baifeng felt that this generation of noble families truly lacked capable individuals. He thought back to the older generation, each and every one of them was tactful and astute. But this generation—aside from aging—had shown no progress at all. How could they even think of getting involved without weighing their own strength?

That they hadn’t yet been eradicated was sheer luck on the part of their ancestors.

After this calamity, Chen Baifeng had co to a clear realization. No wonder the Sorcerer Family, with its profound legacy, couldn’t compete with the recently erged Transcendent Warriors whose lineage only spanned a thousand years.

Techniques were mostly passed down through text, often in ancient script requiring high levels of literary competence to decipher. Essentially, the monopoly of the sorcerer profession belonged to scholars—an old saying rings true sotis; "Scholars rebelling can’t accomplish anything even in ten years."

To put it plainly, without soldiers, there’s nothing to discuss...

In the past, because those warriors had mingled with the army, that was why they had gained the upper hand. Such a simple truth he had neglected; after inheriting the legacy of the Southern Sea, instead of quickly establishing his own military, he chose to ally with the Noble Families—a truly foolish move.

The scholarly Noble Families, having secured resources, preferred to hoard and conceal them. Their disdain for warriors never changed, and it never occurred to them to use the resources to cultivate warriors loyal to the families. This was a clear shortsightedness.

He had not thought it through at that ti, convincing himself that it didn’t matter if he lacked an army. Seeing himself and his peers as part of the Dragon Clan, he assud that being approved by the Dragon Clan, countless mbers of the Aquatic Race would naturally obey his commands, thus he wouldn’t lack soldiers. Looking back, he admitted he had thought too much.

Nowadays, among his group, in terms of combat strength, they lagged far behind Chen Qing, and if talking about individual power—there was no need to ntion it. Among the major forces, theirs was the only lineage whose holand had been raided.

After this incident, he no longer harbored the ambition to independently rule a region. For a Sorcerer Family, aligning with a particular force was the right path. As for which one... that would depend on the outco this ti.

The conditions offered by the Yun Du Ancient Demons were actually not bad, but he really couldn’t co to terms with the requirent of coexisting with insects.

Regarding the Northern Territory, although not yet allied, he figured if he chose to submit, the other party likely wouldn’t reject him. However, his status would not be too high. He also knew a bit about the Reincarnators’ Guild, a group with an exaggerated background who, in their eyes, saw the Human Race as barely different from ordinary livestock. He had little interest in such a position.

What remained were Chen Qing and Your Majesty. Honestly, between the two, he favored Chen Qing a bit more.

Looking at it now, the Emperor was a ruthless ruler from a different generation, while Chen Qing appeared a bit more impulsive. Like this ti, he could have retreated, but instead, he chose to risk his own life for the Western Sea Army. As a leader, such risky actions seed inappropriate.

However, it was exactly because of this impulsiveness that made him seem more likeable. People are complex; while the ruthlessly cunning tend to be more successful, who wouldn’t want a leader more esteed and humane?

Yet, the situation Chen Qing was in now...

Chen Baifeng looked worriedly toward the heart of it all. Now the Western Sea Army was controlled by a mysterious force, and the life or death of Chen Qing was unknown. He feared that after today, the vibrant Jiangnan would be taken over by others.

While he pondered, suddenly the elental energy surged at the location of the Four Holy Palace, releasing an imnsely powerful force that seed to compress the very space of the Imperial Palace. Such a terrifying scene jolted Chen Baifeng back to his senses, as he, along with others around him, stared upwards in horror.

Indeed, horror. It was an imnsely daunting pressure, like insects on the ground suddenly targeted by a monstrous creature capable of obliterating everything they knew!

He had been targeted too, in fact, they all had been targeted.

Outside the Four Holy Palace, in that void, four colossal shadows were looking down at this place. To these beings, everyone here seed like re dust, but being noticed by such existences was indeed a terrifying matter.

Although he knew that those four shadows were rely thoughts, and although he knew that the Four Saints had died countless years ago,

he was still unable to suppress the fear in his heart. It stemd from the awe of a massive disparity in power, and not just him, everyone present felt the sa, including the Emperor who always wanted to overthrow the demons.

"Is this the pinnacle of demons?" the Emperor asked softly, staring up at the sky.

His tone trembled uncontrollably, his hands clasped behind his back, also trembling incessantly.

"No..." King Xiang’s voice was also extrely grave, "I have never had the fortune to see such a high existence, but I know, this isn’t the end. If it were, they would not have died."

"I suppose..." the Emperor forced a smile, but his eyes imdiately hardened more.

The path of the Human Race was longer than ascending to the heavens, if they wanted to establish a footing in this world full of demons, if they wanted to break out of this world to have a place in the void, if they wanted no more external demons to dare wreak havoc in this world, then there was still a long way to go...

"Let’s get ready for action..."

"Alright!"

---------------------------

"Oh? Truly intimidating." The woman encircling the Imperial Palace smiled, her trembling hand struggling to grip the precious sword by her waist. She slowly closed her eyes and took three deep breaths before opening them again, and when she did, her eyes blazed with a dazzling golden fla!

"Form lines, charge!"

"Yes!!"

The voice of the Ghost Army bood like thunder, their robust vital energy soaring into the skies, full of fighting spirit, causing the nurous massive Serpent Demons to dodge out of their way.

The woman glanced at the Serpent Demons whose formations were in disarray, a flicker of confusion crossing her eyes.

As she had suspected, the Celestial Serpent Palace of the Northern Territory, though it had many Serpent Demons, lacked any effective organization or concept of an army. The Celestial Serpent had never been a gregarious demon; assembled together forcibly, even in vast numbers, they amounted to little, especially given the limited Serpent Demons that could be deployed, utterly incapable of blocking the armies arranged in military formations.

Could those Reincarnators from the Northern Territory really be relying on these creatures as their trump card?

But without their own army, how could they ultimately contend with her and her fellows?

Without dwelling on this, the woman drew her sword and made a sweeping gesture, tens of thousands of elite Ghost Army soldiers charged like wild horses, each one transcendent, leaping a hundred yards at a ti, swiftly mounting the levitated Imperial Palace and demonstrating extrely high military discipline. In less than ten breaths, the tens of thousands of the Ghost Army had ford into military arrays within the chaotic Imperial Palace, ready at any mont to receive orders.

The woman who had followed the Deputy General up looked around and, without hesitation, directed the army toward the location of the Southern Vermilion Bird Palace.

The four inheritors of the Four Saints, Fei Jun was the Golden Crow Bloodline of the Siao Family, the most crucial to win over, and absolutely could not fall into others’ hands!
