Captulo 1707: Chapter 120: Better Late Than Never!

Tert, Southern District.

No. 112 Zhengli Tree Street.

"The danger is over, why are you still at my house?”

Matthew, carrying two large bags of groceries, opened the door while rolling his eyes at Luodeni.

Luodeni licked his face and giggled.

His gaze constantly scanned the groceries in Matthew’s hands, as well as Jason and Taniel walking behind.

As a chubby guy, apart from talent, love of food was also one of the important reasons.

And it was undeniable, Matthew’s cooking skills were quite good.

Moreover, Luodeni’s intuition as a ‘Diviner’ revealed many secrets about Jason, so naturally, a curious information broker couldn’t just leave.

"Knowing too much, be careful not to get silenced.”

Matthew glanced at Luodeni and imdiately knew what this chubby guy was up to, and said irritably.

As a forr Great Thief, Matthew was fully aware that sotis knowing less had its advantages.

"Lord Jason, what would you like for dinner?”

Matthew asked.

At this mont, it was already five o’clock in the afternoon.

The Imperial Palace affairs were temporarily settled.

Discussions were ongoing about Prince Ruitai’s funeral.

The funerals for the sacrificed soldiers, attendants, and secret agents were also on the agenda.

However, none of those had anything to do with them.

Those were matters for Sewock VII and those ministers to consider.

The reason they returned so late was, besides resting, to wait for Jason.

"Potato stew with beef, smoked ham and cheese bread.”

Jason said.

These were all from the groceries Matthew just bought.

"Leave it to .”

"Lord Jason, Taniel, would you like so tea?”

"Although the beef is semi-finished, it still takes ti, about two hours.”

Matthew asked.

"Black tea, snacks.”

Taniel imdiately replied.

Although they ate a bit at the palace during noon, a chaotic palace could hardly truly accommodate thousands of people, thus the food was rely plain water and bread.

Even though the bread contained ham and cheese, Taniel still felt a bit hungry.

"Clear tea.”

Jason stated his preference.

And as Jason finished speaking, Luodeni impatiently opened his mouth.

"Milk tea, chocolate brownie, donuts, and strawberries…”

"Get lost!”

"I’m not a professional chef!”

Unfortunately, before he finished speaking, Matthew interrupted.

This forr Great Thief completely ignored Luodeni, and headed straight into the kitchen, followed eagerly by Luodeni.

Jason and Taniel sat in the small courtyard.

"How do you feel?”

Jason pointed at the hair, and asked Taniel.

At this mont, Taniel’s hair tips were all turning white, and his face showed undeniable fatigue.

"A bit overworked.”

"After a sleep, and so supplents, it’ll be fine.”

Taniel said with a smile.

It was clear that Taniel was very happy now.

This teacher from Deer Academy, the second advisor to Lorde, took a deep breath, crossed his arms behind his head, eyes showing unprecedented ease.

This ti, he didn’t hold anyone back.

More importantly, his friend Jason was fine too.

What could be more important than this?

Nothing.

Next cos a good rest for a few days.

Then…

Return to Lorde.

Also, his vacation is nearing, and he must return to the Academy.

Thinking about having to teach those clueless young people again, Taniel’s face imdiately fell.

"What’s wrong?”

Jason keenly sensed his friend’s unusual expression.

"I suddenly realize I have a real job—nine to nine, six days a week, with occasional overti on Sundays… and this kind of life has to be maintained for 18 weeks!”

"How did I get through it before?”

"Why did I forget?”

"Now I just feel my scalp tingling!”

Taniel said, lying on the table, eyes filled with tears.

"It might be life?”

"After all, there are your friends and social circles there.”

Jason thought and said.

"No, no no!”

"Believe , Jason.”

"There, I don’t have a single friend; in fact, before eting you, I had no friends—I was soone hated by everyone, even my teachers found troubleso.”

"So, that’s not life.”

"It should be…

"Life’s pressure!”

Taniel lifted his head to explain, then, as he spoke, this teacher from Deer Academy and the second advisor of Lorde’s police station suddenly thought of sothing, and he asked directly: “Jason, what are your plans afterward?”

"Afterward?”

"Should be to travel around, see so sights.”

"Then…”

"Go ho.”

Jason paused for a mont and replied.

Of course, he knew what Taniel ant by asking this.

However, he still had so matters to resolve.

He couldn’t linger here for long.

Taniel imdiately showed a dim expression.

He originally wanted to invite Jason to Deer Academy.

But if Jason was going ho, then it’s completely unfeasible to ask.

"Don’t worry.”

"When your vacation cos, we’ll get together then.”

"I am indeed looking forward to the ‘West Coast’ you ntioned before.”

Jason said with a smile.

Then, subtly gestured to Taniel.

"Hmm, it’s settled then.”

Taniel nodded, kept his composure, and stood up, heading toward the room.

He ca across Luodeni who was coming out with refreshnts.

"Wha…”

"Starting again?”

"Will it ever end?”

Luodeni reacted quickly, then grumbled and turned back to the room.
