A long ti ago, during the reign of Cinhard Beelze, aside from the ruthless demons, there was a monster who sought nothing but destruction.

Starved by the taste of blood, it road the continent, ruined lots of cities, and took many different lives.

With its sharp claws and razor-sharp teeth, it tore its prey’s flesh away from the bones.

Humans couldn’t sleep at peace and were always on guard, fearing that the monster would co and claim their lives to satisfy its hunger.

This continued for several months until the emperor of that era decided to hunt down the binge-eating monster.

As the knights assembled and marched their way towards the monster’s nest, they were filled with vigor and confidence. However, the mont they arrived at the target’s location, all they saw was a man lying on the empty shelter made of dried leaves and thick tree branches.

"Who are you?" The captain asked while pointing his sword towards the figure.

But they received no response, so they moved closer.

Upon seeing the man’s face and the red dice dangling from his ear, they all ran away without contemplating.

All they thought was to get out of the place as soon as possible. The mission regarding the monster’s subjugation vanished that instant from their minds; they all forgot about it after realizing who the man was. In that tiline, no one in Exgreia didn’t know the characteristics of the Manipulator of Souls.

"Why is the Demon King’s General here?" The knight captain uttered in disbelief.

The subjugation failed as no knights dared to march on the monster’s location again, but ti passed and the monster was soon forgotten as it had not appeared in the world since then.

. . . . .

Uoiea leaped backwards and watched her flas eat the doll monster. Purple embers fell to the ground and lted the snow particles.

However, as soon as Djaneryse recovered from shock, she stepped forward and pulled Mr. Fluffy’s hand.

The doll shrank in size, and the traces of fla left its body. It reverted to its tiny form, enough for Djaneryse to hug it tight.

"Are you hurt, Mr. Fluffy?" She asked, rubbing the doll on her face.

Then she glared at Uoiea and complained.

"You! How dare you trick , empire’s sole princess?" she said, pouting.

"Trick? I don’t know how to pull such one," Uoiea answered.

Afterward, she dashed towards the puppeteer; her right hand held a ball of fla.

"Too straightforward," Djaneryse comnted.

Then she plucked a strand of her denim-colored hair and tied it to the doll’s arm before giving it a kiss. Her soft lips left a mark on Mr. Fluffy’s cheeks.

"Use my strength; go and kill that bitch," she whispered to Mr. Fluffy’s ear.

With her words as the trigger, the doll changed its shape once more; its white cotton fur turned into human flesh. The vicious-looking appearance beca a handso face worthy of being called a prince. The clothes it wore even added to its charming personality.

Uoiea was surprised by the sudden changes in the doll, but she didn’t stop in her tracks. The ball of fla on her hand emitted sparks of lightning.

Without a single hint of hesitation, she struck it at the doll, which was now a man standing in front of the puppeteer.

The man remained motionless for a second before he glanced at the empire’s princess. Then a smirk appeared on the corner of his mouth. His eyes turned blue, similar to Djaneryse’s. Afterward, a sword appeared on his hand, and he made a slash, cutting Uoiea’s fireball in half. The princess managed to retract her hand in the last second. Then she leaped backward and gulped a mouthful of saliva.

’Am I afraid?’ She thought.

Then she raised her hands and saw that they were trembling non-stop.

Uoiea didn’t know, but even though she knew how to fight and had the abilities to fight toe-to-toe against powerful opponents, she lacked a real battle experience where lives were on the line.

Just because of this, she lost her focus and failed to sense the man charging towards her with his sword, aiming for her neck.

It was only a few distances apart when Uoiea ca back to her senses. She was about to turn into a bolt of lightning to evade; however, she was stunned as Djaneryse cast a binding spell from afar. Ethereal dolls hugged the princess, preventing her from escaping.

With the little strength she had, Uoiea struggled to break free from the incantation. She tried to burn the dolls, but they just absorbed the energy from her flas. Without knowing what to do, she just stared at the incoming blade, hoping that soone would appear and save her from demise.

’Father!’ She yelled inside her thoughts.

With all of her hope broken, the white dice hanging on her wrist stopped spinning and emitted a white hue. Then the surface with six star-shaped patterns glowed even brighter, and an entity with powerful claws blocked the blade.

The creature had a humanoid appearance, but it had black skin like a gargoyle and razor-sharp teeth enough to tear anything apart. A piece of clothing made from another monster’s fur covered its private. Instead of hair, dirty white feathers covered its head all the way to its back.

After letting out an ear-piercing roar, it bit the man’s neck and tore the flesh away.

But the man remained calm; no blood ca out of his open wounds. The next second, he pushed the monster backward, creating enough distance to stab it in the chest. His attack was a success, but the monster held the blade and crashed it before spewing the flesh that it munched.

"Taste like undead." The monster spoke before its sight road around the area.

The mont the pair of black-red eyes landed on Djaneryse, the monster vanished in front of the man and appeared behind the puppeteer.

Its claws and fangs were ready to pounce at Djaneryse, but with a stomp, the man and her switched places all of a sudden.

Claws and swords clashed, srizing the two won.

"What kind of thing is that? Even the professor doesn’t produce such an ugly being," Djaneryse stated.

Uoiea heard her loud and clear, but even she couldn’t identify the creature. She herself felt terrified as much as she looked at the monster.

However, now was not the ti to contemplate; the human doll was busy fending off the monster, leaving the puppeteer defenseless. So the next second, she conjured lightning on her fingers and fired them at Djaneryse, but like what happened before, several dolls in ethereal form appeared and absorbed the lightning bolts.

"You didn’t even learn," Djaneryse stated, but as she glanced at her side, a fist covered with purple flas was the first thing she saw.

"That was just a distraction," Uoiea said as she struck the puppeteer’s face.

Djaneryse tumbled to the ground, and her hair was disheveled due to the impact. The skin on her face was scorched black.

She stood up and looked for the woman, but she received a kick on the abdon, sending her up. A mouthful of blood escaped her mouth, but the empire’s princess was not yet done. She leaped up and gave Djaneryse another punch, enough to slam her down on the ground.

"How is it?" Uoiea asked, but the puppeteer just smiled.

Those arcs from Djaneryse’s lips made the princess knit her brows, so she chose to end the fight.

She summoned a spear of lightning and was ready to stab Djaneryse’s chest but her body vanished all of a sudden and a doll appeared in exchange.

"I’ll take it as my loss here, but the next ti we see each other again, you’ll be one of my collections as well," the doll said.

Its voice was grumpy but clear enough to convey the puppeteer’s ssage.

The next second, the doll exploded, but it was not strong enough to harm the princess.

"She escaped!" Uoiea exclaid, biting her lips out of frustration.

Then she glanced at the monster, who was now staring at the sky as its opponent also disappeared from the place, but the mont it noticed Uoiea’s gaze, it charged at her with its saliva drooling at its mouth.

Uoiea entered into a fighting stance; she sowhat expected this kind of developnt as she knew nothing about the monster’s origin.

As the distance between them diminished, the white dice glowed, making the monster halt its movent. Then it started to run away; however, rope made of silk-like material ca from the dice and restricted the monster from doing so.

"This thing! Really!" The creature murmured, trying to free itself.

Afterward, the rope retracted, pulling the unknown creature back inside the dice. srized by the situation she was in, she stared at the dice dangling from her wrist. It stopped spinning and beca just a normal ornant once more.

"What was that?" Uoiea couldn’t help but ask.

She wanted to inspect the dice until she was satisfied, but the knights rushed into the scene, bringing four injured people.

"Princess! Are you alright? Where are the intruders?" One of the knights asked.

Uoiea tossed all of her thoughts at the back of her mind.

"They escaped," she answered, then examined the wounded.

"Are they the only survivors?" She asked with a heavy heart, and upon seeing the knights lower their heads while staying silent, she didn’t delve any further.

Instead, she walked in the direction where the Frostbloom king was located.

She looked at the headless body and sighed.

’If only we arrived a little earlier,’ she thought.

Then she touched the corpse, wanting to set it ablaze, but after realizing that the king’s family was still alive and staying inside the castle, she pulled back her arm and stood up, only to see a man standing near the gate’s entrance.

His hair was as silver as the moonlight, but his eyes lost all of their radiance. Dull and lifeless as they seed, Uoiea couldn’t avert her gaze from them.

The two people just stared at each other; no one was uttering a single word until the empire’s princess broke the silence.

"You seem familiar; have we t before?" Uoiea asked, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.
