“Next couple, please co this way!”
“Here we are!”
With an energetic reply, Ai-san walked towards the Onee-san with Yousuke-san in tow.
Onee-san handed each of them a microphone.
“What a fresh pair we have here! First, could you please tell us your nas?”
“I’m Shimizu Ai!”
“I’m Sakata Yousuke.”
“Such a lively girlfriend you have!”
“Thank you very much!”
“Now, let’s move on to the questions. When did the two of you first et?”
“We first t in kindergarteners.”
Yousuke-san answered Onee-san’s question with a flat tone.
“So, you two are childhood friends!”
“Yes! Yousuke and I have been inseparable childhood friends since our kindergarten days!”
“Wow, that’s lovely, childhood friends!”
The Onee-san seed visibly more excited upon hearing that the two were childhood friends.
“How long have you two been dating?”
“About a year.”
Ai-san answered as if she had anticipated the question beforehand.
“Who confessed their feelings first?”
“Um, that is…”
It seed they hadn’t discussed who had confessed during their eting.

Ai-san’s eyes widened in surprise.
It appeared she hadn’t expected this turn of events.
“So it was the boyfriend who confessed! How did you do it?”

“Simple, but a lovely confession nonetheless! And how did you feel about it, girlfriend?”
“That… I was really happy. It filled my heart with warmth.”
Ai-san smiled softly as if Yousuke-san had really said those words to her.
“Such a youthful romance! Next, could you tell us what you like about each other? Let’s start with the boyfriend.”
“It’s the way she always brightens the surroundings with her cheerful smile.”
Hearing Yousuke-san’s words, Ai-san blushed.
It seed Yousuke-san truly felt that way, as he answered without hesitation.
“Your girlfriend’s smile is indeed charming! And what about you, girlfriend? What do you like about your boyfriend?”
“Despite all his teasing, he’s always there for whenever I’m in trouble!”
Ai-san’s response didn’t seem insincere either.
“He sounds like a kind boyfriend! Now, this might be a difficult question to answer, but do you think there are any flaws in your partner?”
“Yes!”
Ai-san raised her hand enthusiastically.
“Then, girlfriend, please go ahead.”
“He hardly ever complints !”
“That’s what she says, boyfriend.”
Onee-san prompted Yousuke-san for a response with a laugh.
“…I’ll try to do better.”
“He seems like a shy boyfriend. On the other hand, boyfriend, do you think there are any flaws in your girlfriend?”
Yousuke-san made a contemplative gesture and then unexpectedly smiled.
“None in particular.”
“Not even one?”
“No, she may lack so things compared to others, but I think that’s part of Ai’s charm as well.”
As Yousuke-san finished his statent, cheers erupted from the audience.
“The highlight of the day! Your girlfriend is truly loved!”
“Ehehe…”
Ai-san couldn’t hide her joy, smiling broadly.
“Now, let’s move on to a random question. Girlfriend, could you please pick a number from one to twenty?”
“Lucky number seven!”
“Alright, number seven it is. Question seven is… please tell us about your first kiss!”
“Ah?”
“I’ll repeat it. Please share the mory of your first kiss!”
Ai-san probably heard the question just fine.
She must have been frozen by the unexpectedness of it. With her face turning red, she looked at Yousuke-san with a troubled expression.
Yousuke-san also seed a bit fidgety.
“If it’s difficult for you two to answer, we can skip this question…”
“No, it’s okay!”
Though she clearly didn’t seem okay, Ai-san replied so.
“Is that so? Well then please tell us, where was your first kiss?”
“On, on a Ferris wheel.”
“Ooh? How romantic! Please tell us in as much detail as possible about the lead-up to the kiss on the Ferris wheel.”
“Um… that is…”
“She’s at her limit,” Shimizu-san muttered softly beside .
Indeed, even from my perspective, it seed like she was nearing her limit.
“I’ll take it from here.”
In the midst of this, Yousuke-san began to speak.
“It seems the girlfriend is too embarrassed to recall her first kiss. Boyfriend, please go ahead.”

Cheers of ‘Kyaa’ could be heard from the audience.

When I looked at Ai-san, she was gazing at Yousuke-san with a passionate look.
“We’d love to hear more, but it seems we’re running out of ti. Lastly, if there’s anything you’d like to say, please go ahead!”
“I was so happy that Yousuke praised a lot today! The Best Couple Contest is amazing!”
“It makes happy to hear you say that! Both of you, thank you very much!”
Yousuke-san and Ai-san returned the microphone to Onee-san and ca back to us.
“Phew, that was nerve-wracking!”
“You looked as calm as ever to .”
“Really? Well, next up are Kei and Daiki-kun. Relax and good luck!”
Ai-san lightly patted my back and Shimizu-san’s.
“Now, let’s welco the next couple. Please co this way!”
Shimizu-san and I exchanged glances and nodded slightly.
I matched my pace with Shimizu-san as we slowly approached the Onee-san.
