Clara Bennett raised an eyebrow and said, "I want to be irresponsible."

William Foster seed deeply hurt, his lips drooping as he bowed his head slightly, "You look down on , right? Yeah, I guess I’m a wreck now. If it weren’t for the drugging that night, you wouldn’t have been with . You didn’t want ; you wanted Samuel Grant’s older brother. Hey, even as a vegetable, he’s better than ."

"Alright, alright, enough already."

Clara said with a headache, "At that ti, looking for him wasn’t just for pretense, and don’t act all innocent after getting your perks."

If she sought out Samuel’s brother that night, at least she wouldn’t have to pay any price.

Moreover, with a vegetative person, she couldn’t handle marriage and divorce procedures at all, making such a union much smoother.

William said with a hint of lancholy, "I realize I’m an accident, my self-discipline wasn’t enough. Since our first intimate contact, I can’t resist you anymore."

Clara blinked, "The first ti? Seriously?"

William looked embarrassed, turning his head, "I already ntioned my eyes are bad, my legs are useless, no woman wants to deal with ."

Clara’s heart softened as she leaned forward, looking at him, "You’re so handso. If won won’t co near you, then they’re the blind ones."

William: "Stop joking, just go out first. I can manage on my own."

The handso man gripped the wheelchair handles, his attractive face appearing a bit helpless, which softened Clara’s heart even more.

Clara: "Fine, I’ll handle it myself. I don’t trust that we could maintain a purely platonic relationship after getting married anyway."

William insisted, "I don’t want just a nominal marriage because I want a real conjugal life."

Clara: "Then if I don’t agree, are you not planning to marry ?"

William extended a hand and grabbed hers, saying in a low voice, "I only want you as my wife. If you don’t agree, I’ll..."

Clara raised an eyebrow, "Then what will you do?"

William abruptly pulled her into his arms, touching her face, fingers lightly pressing at the corner of her mouth, "I’ll make such a fuss that everyone knows the Bennett family’s darling Clara bullied a blind and la man, first taking him by force and then ditching him."

Clara was stunned, "As a man, don’t you think this is disgraceful?"

William: "My parents taught from a young age that face is a small matter when it cos to winning over a wife."

Clara suddenly laughed.

Even though they hadn’t been together long, she found William far more likable than Samuel Grant.

Moreover, she naturally felt compassion for William, perhaps due to similar experiences in her past life, understanding that kind of hardship.

So she wrapped her arms around his neck and, with a smile, said, "Alright, I promise you. But this is indeed embarrassing."

Then she broke free from his embrace and pushed him toward the door.

William: "Where are we going?"

Clara: "Where’s your bedroom?"

William was montarily stunned, then smiled, "The innermost room. That’s where I used to wait for you, and I converted it into a bedroom."

Clara’s face turned a little red as she pushed the wheelchair into the bedroom and imdiately turned off the lights after entering.

William raised an eyebrow slightly, finding it almost too dark to see anything.

The night blindness rendered him completely blind at that mont.

Clara put him on the bed and reached for his sunglasses.

William shifted slightly, "Don’t look, it’s ugly."

Clara, smiling, insisted on removing his glasses, "Anyway, the lights are off, no need to cover it. Besides... I love looking at your eyes because they’re beautiful."

After Samuel Grant ca out of William’s house, he didn’t leave imdiately, still holding the check in hand.

His mind was full of ways to get that money back from Clara.

Not a penny gained, only bills and interest, Samuel felt quite unsatisfied.

He was now like a trapped beast, devising every kind of sly plan.

Seeing Clara delayed on the path she inevitably had to take only made him gnash his teeth in hatred: she was definitely with that uncle of hers again.

When he went earlier, she was wearing a bathrobe, and now this was the second ti, wasn’t it?

The more Samuel thought, the angrier he got, his mind a tangled ss.

He both hated Clara and envied William.

William lacked nothing, born with a silver spoon. If only he had such status and wealth, he wouldn’t be stressing over this bit of money.

In the dim room of the Foster family’s villa, Clara whispered in William’s ear, "I helped you; you help too."

William replied, "I’ll help with anything you ask."

Clara took his hand and placed it on her neck, "Leave a mark here."

William’s throat moved, his voice sowhat hoarse, "This isn’t helping; it’s a reward."

As the words fell, he aggressively embraced her neck, leaving a kiss on her neck.

Half an hour later, Clara pushed William away, sowhat annoyed, "Don’t overdo it, my lips are swollen."

William chuckled lightly, "Sweetheart, your lips are so soft."

Clara retorted, "No more kisses, that’s enough."

True to his word, William ceased any further actions. Although the intimate atmosphere remained in the room, Clara’s face flushed slightly as she inhaled deeply and got up to turn on the light.

The clothes were already laid out on the bed, and Clara promptly shed the bathrobe and changed into clothes.

William felt his cooled passion reignite.

He suddenly thought that if Clara found out he pretended to be blind, she’d probably explode with anger upon knowing his current behavior.

Hmm...

In the future, he’d still need to find a renowned doctor to check his eyes. Even if Clara didn’t believe him, she should trust in dical miracles.

Before treatnt—he must take a good look at this wife and ensure no one else gets the chance.

Live in the mont, cherish every second.

As Clara turned to him after changing, William put on those sunglasses again.

Clara, sowhat thoughtful, said, "If you don’t want people to find out about your eye problem, you could try those incredibly realistic contact lenses."

William said, "My eye condition is a family secret."

Clara asked, "So Samuel Grant doesn’t know you actually have an eye problem?"

William nodded, "Not just that, many people don’t even know about my leg issue."

Clara said, "Got it. I’ll never ntion anything about your eyes and legs to anyone."

William’s mouth subtly curved into a smile, "Aren’t you curious about the reasons behind all this?"

Clara shook her head, "That’s your business. After all, our marriage has its motives, and I won’t pry into things I shouldn’t."

William continued to ask, "Aren’t you concerned about my identity or background within the Foster family either?"
