Chapter 303: Altercation
Outside the temple, the two armies of i and Jia had now collided with one another.
The rogue i cultivators were backed up with the Mad Saints, the Flying Tigers, and several other smaller military units.
What had initially started out as about 7,000 i cultivators against 19,000 Jia soldiers was now a battle with 12,000 i vs 19,000 Jia soldiers.
Although the Jia soldiers were bigger, stronger, and more organized, the i had a higher number of Spirit Realm experts.
Guo Bao and Dong Ning were the two leaders from i's side. Both of them were riding on massive battle mounts.
Guo Bao was on a white Direbear that was the sa size as a triple story mansion. It was fully armored from head to toe and a single growl of it sent shockwaves on the battlefield.
Dong Ning was on a Six-legged Venomous Komodo Dragon variant. It was longer and taller than 2 double-decker buses put together. It had a shimring brown layered armor covering its entire head and back.
Even the eye sockets were made from a glowing light blue ruby that shone even during the day. There was a single horn above the Komodo Dragon's nostrils from which a green mist was being released.
Everyone that touched the mist would be slowed down and their power level lowered by more than half.
These two beasts wreaked havoc on the battlefield until the Jia called one of their own.
*Tremble*
The air itself shook when it appeared out of the towering forests. All other beasts including the Direbear and Venom Komodo Dragon halted their advances and put up their guards when they felt its presence.
A mammoth.
An actual Gargantuan Elder Mammoth that was more than 300 ters tall. Each of its feet were thicker than 50 ters. On its back was an entire building that had 6 cannons facing outwards.
Before the Mammoth even reached the battlefield the cannons on its back started firing.
*BOOM* x6
Six mushroom clouds rose on the i side of the temple. One of them even hit the temple itself, blowing half of the roof away.
Several hundred cultivators imdiately retreated seeing the havoc those canons had caused. Gao Bao stood up on his DireBEar and shouted at the soldiers that were still there.
"DON'T BE AFRAID! It's just an adolescent, we can kill it! GO!"
And with that, he lead the attack himself. Others that were still thinking about what to do couldn't help but fall into his montum and charged along with him.
Dong Ning scoffed at the Gargantuan Elder Mammoth. No battle mounts above Spirit Realm were allowed in the competition so it was pretty obvious that it was also in the sa realm as his Venom Komodo Dragon.
"Puppy, let's go show them what you're made off!" he patted the Komodo Dragons back and whispered.
The little bit of fear it was feeling from the Elder Mammoth vanished with just a simple sentence as its eye sockets started glowing. The horn lit up and a massive 100-ter wide wave of mist was released from it.
It let out a sharp hiss and charged into the mist itself. The mist would boost its own abilities while lowering those of its opponents.
"STOMP THEM TO DEATH!" the rider of the Elder Mammoth shouted when he saw them charging towards him.
The Elder Mammoth lifted its thick trunk and let out an earth-shaking trumpet.
"AHH!" Guo Bao channeled all his Qi into the Direboar as it started picking speed. Within a few seconds this almost a 100-ter tall white Bear was right next to the Elder Mammoths front left foot.
It opened its gigantic maw and bit. The Mammoth shook as a fountain of blood erupted from where the bear had bitten off a huge piece of its at.
It moved its steel tusks sideways with such speed that was in complete contrast for a beast of its size. The DireBear didn't even have ti to dodge as it was sent hurling almost half a kiloter away.
While the Elder Mammoth was looking at the Direbear with a mocking smile, it felt a sudden weight on its back. It turned its head halfway and realized that the Venom Komodo Dragon was looking straight at it.
It opened its mouth and sprayed out a dark grey liquid all over the mammoths back. As soon as the liquid touched the building and the cannons, they shone with a bright yellow light for a few seconds before lting away.
Within a few seconds, the liquid had completely dissolved everything and everyone that was on the mammoths back other than its rider, who was in a spot right above its head.
The Komodo Dragon jumped off the mammoths back and landed in the middle of a platoon of unsuspecting Jia soldiers.
The grey liquid reached the mammoth's skin but only managed to burn off the outer layer of its think skin before evaporating.
Dong Ning looked at the dazed Jia soldiers below him while pointing the tip of his spear towards them.
"Spear Forest!"
His arm moved more than 500 tis in 3 seconds. Afterimages of his spear could be seen in the air for an instant before the entire area in front of him was rendered into a patchy, bloody graveyard.
The entire platoon of Jia soldiers was killed off before they could do anything.
But it seed like the skill had taken quite a bit of Qi as Dong Ning's aura weakened significantly.
"Back, move back to our side!" he said in a low voice and the Komodo Dragon obliged.
The scene changed to the inside of the temple where an earthshaking battle was taking place.
*BOOOOM*
*CRACK*
*Crumble*
Two figures repeatedly connected with one another several feet above the ground. Every ti they separated a miniature shockwave would be produced and pieces of the cavern would be destroyed.
In just a few minutes they had had more than a 100 of these altercations.
Mr. and Mrs. Khan couldn't believe what they were seeing. That sa quite young man that had arrived on this planet with them just a few years ago was now in the center of this entire confrontation.
Lois, Yangdi, Xu Qing, all of them were watching with bated breaths. Well, they and the rest of the kingdoms.
