Chapter 431: Chapter 55: The Mudslide of the Entertainnt Industry
"I understand. You can go back now," Tianmiao said lightly, without expressing any opinion.
Gao Yuxin stood up, bowed, and then turned to leave.
Ruan Tingyi watched Gao Yuxin’s departing figure with confusion. She had many questions but didn’t know how to ask them.
"Stop staring, focus on the ga," Kong Hou urged.
"I’m a bit dizzy from what Gao Yuxin said," Ruan Tingyi whispered.
"It’s nothing, don’t worry about it," Kong Hou said dismissively. "Co on, Muye is urging us."
With a head full of questions, Ruan Tingyi continued playing the ga with Kong Hou.
When Gao Yuxin returned ho and opened the door, she found Jiang Cheng already waiting. Seeing her return, Jiang Cheng said, "There’s a social gathering tonight. You’re coming with ."
Gao Yuxin was silent for a mont before saying, "I’m not feeling well today. Can I skip it?"
Jiang Cheng said nothing, just looked at her for a while, and then suddenly sneered, "Who do you think you are? Stop talking nonsense. I’ll pick you up tonight, and I don’t want to see you not dressed by then."
Jiang Cheng finished speaking and slamd the door as he left.
Gao Yuxin sat on the sofa, her gaze sowhat vacant.
Now reflecting on what she’d done before, she suddenly realized that perhaps she was wrong from the very beginning.
In life, there are indeed many things one desires to obtain.
But the efforts each person makes and the paths they choose are different.
And she had chosen the wrong path. Could she turn back, still have a chance to correct her mistakes?
Rembering what Jiang Cheng said before he left, Gao Yuxin slowly closed her eyes.
Perhaps there was no going back?
By evening, Gao Yuxin numbly changed into a gown, waiting for Jiang Cheng to pick her up.
But the phone never rang, not even at eleven at night.
There was no word from Jiang Cheng.
In the following days, Jiang Cheng didn’t contact Gao Yuxin.
A few days after returning to her routine work, she finally couldn’t resist asking her assistant if Jiang Cheng was on a business trip recently.
The assistant knew about her relationship with Jiang Cheng, so when she asked, the assistant looked hesitant.
"What’s going on? Just tell ," Gao Yuxin urged.
The assistant’s face showed a sympathetic expression and cautiously said, "Miss Gao, please don’t get upset or sad when I tell you this."
"Okay, you can tell ," Gao Yuxin nodded.
"The boss’s first love has returned, and he’s been busy pursuing her recently, so..." The assistant didn’t finish the sentence, instead, looked at her with sympathy in their eyes.
Gao Yuxin was stunned but regained her composure after a while and then asked, "Can you ask for a few days off for ? I want to take a break."
"Sure," the assistant imdiately agreed, looking at Gao Yuxin with concern, "Miss Gao, are you alright?"
"Oh, I’m fine, really," Gao Yuxin said, the more she insisted, the more her assistant worried.
The leave was quickly approved, giving Gao Yuxin a week off.
Gao Yuxin said goodbye to her worried assistant and went straight back to her apartnt.
As soon as she got back, she collapsed onto the bed, then let out muffled laughter.
Gao Yuxin finally couldn’t help but laugh heartily, then sat up. At that mont, her heart was overwheld with great joy, and she took out her phone to find soone to share it with. Jiang Cheng was never an easy person to deal with, and she knew she couldn’t easily detach herself, so when she latched onto Jiang Cheng’s coattails, she never thought of letting go voluntarily. The cost of letting go wasn’t sothing she could bear.
But now the problem had resolved itself so simply. Jiang Cheng not only had no ti for her, but likely also dreaded her showing up, right?
