“…”
“What? Why?”
Jamie raised his eyes and looked at Beiros, who was sitting opposite him with a pouting face, who took the chance to ask Jamie,
“Why did we have to co to the library?”
At that mont, the two were in the library of the castle.
People always misunderstood that demons were a race of violent and reckless monsters.
Well, it wasn’t all wrong.
That is because, in order to survive in the Devildom, they had to trample others, but being strong ant more than just having a lot of strength.
In fact, so demons obtained titles by force but eventually fell.
It was because of demons who could use their knowledge. In fact, it was difficult to find demons lacking intelligence.
This is why demons try to acquire more knowledge. The existence of a library this large was proof of it.
And Beiros was the hot-headed kind who was stupid but had the strength to be called a demon.
“What do you need the most to adapt to the Devildom?”
When Jamie asked him like a teacher, Beiros wrinkled his expression.
“… you want to teach you history?”
“As I thought, you must be a genius. I thought it would co out rude; I am glad it didn’t happen.”
Jamie continued.
“I do not know anything about Devildom. The language, the culture, the history this place has. I can communicate naturally through language interpretation magic; you demons fight like crazy, so there is no proper culture now. But the history is different.”
To properly understand the Devildom now, one had to understand its long history.
“I am not asking you to tell everything from the creation of this place, but tell the current structure of it, the ti axis since when and why it beca this way.”
“Hmm…history isn’t my specialty.”
Beiros scratched his head and looked through the books which were pulled out. They were so thick that he didn’t want to see them ever.
He grumbled at the number of books.
“But why ? Can’t you ask His Majesty?”
“Wouldn’t you want to slap one on the head when they give you advice on things they don’t want to listen to?”
As Jamie pulled out Beyond Avalon to hit him again, Beiros took a defensive stance.
“N-no, if it is His majesty, he would have an easier ti telling you things.”
Jamie, who was trying to hit him, smiled.
“I do not want to bother him.”
“Uh?”
“Shut up and start explaining!”
“Kuak!”
Beiros, who got hit hard, frowned and opened a book. Jamie sighed.
‘I cannot be the master and rely on the subordinates.’
He already owed a lot to Trika and had shown a lot of weakness as a master. He didn’t want to do that anymore.
As the master, it hurt his self-esteem.
He didn’t intend to be like a mosquito for being weak.
“Anyway, let’s get started.”
This is how the story of history began.
“It would be better to start with how the ti axis beca twisted.”
Beiros quickly skimd through a few thick books, decided what had to be said first, and then aligned things in his head.
“The first thing we need to point out is that the ti axis of Devildom and the human world wasn’t twisted from the start.”
“1 minute is one day?”
“Yes. That is how it happened. At first, the difference was in seconds. It has been rampant, and it is the sa now.”
In other words, the ti axis was shifted due to an event, and it began to unfold. It began to widen to a nonsensical level as one day beca one minute.
What the hell was this?
Beiros’ explanation continued.
“It was the beginning of the Great War, also known as the Acroba Incident.”
Acroba Incident.
One day, a colossal dinsion stone fell through the sky of Devildom.
The location of that place was a plain nad ‘Acroba’, and the Demon Kings who ruled the Devildom waged a massive war to obtain it.
“As for the results, no one ever obtained the Dinsion Stone.”
“Was there no winner?”
“No. the war never ended. It is because one day, the dinsion stone was suddenly sucked into the depths of the underworld and fused with the core.”
The core of Devildom could be said to be the true dinsion stone, the mother of all the stones which shone on the ground.
Jamie was shocked
“… Uh?”
“You might think of it as absurd, but it actually happened. It was then that the ti axis of Devildom turned strange.”
From that day, ti began to flow strangely.
Naturally, so people observed it, so they quickly noticed the change.
A tiline that seed to be accelerating compared to other dinsions.
In this unprecedented situation, it wasn’t an exaggeration to say that they are ruling the current Devildom through the power of the Demon Kings.
The 5 Demon Kings struggled for a very long ti to find the answers to it.
That was the only ti of peace in the Devildom. But that didn’t change the situation when they all got together. Still, even with them combining their efforts as a group with power comparable to the 12 Gods, it did not bear fruit.
They decided that there was no answer and decided to give up. As such, the tiline began to grow, and like that, a thousand years passed since that happened.
“Is that all?”
Right now, one day per minute easily exceeds a thousand years in a year.
But it was still stuck near just a thousand?
Beiros replied.
“Originally. I knew that 1 second was about 2 or 3 seconds. If I had to say the ti axis difference, it was a day or two difference. However, I heard that several anomalies had occurred in the ti axis. I heard the last one was recent.”
“Recent one?”
“I don’t know that either. It isn’t an area I am really interested in, I just happened to listen to stuff here and there.”
“Then how many years ago was it in human ti when this first incident happened?”
“Ugh. You should ask the archivist for that.”
Since he didn’t check until a specific ti, it is unknown information unless he obtained the observations of soone who researched it.
“What is certain is that it will continue to be long in the future compared to others.”
Even now, the Demon Kings were struggling to fix this, but it didn’t seem like sothing would be resolved easily.
“Well, I don’t know if being powerful enough to interfere with the dinsion can happen again.”
“Right. Then how do I et the archivist?”
“You want to et?”
“I am curious. Who knows? It might have sothing to do with the human world.”
“Well…”
Jamie tilted his head at Beiros’ frowning face.
“What is with that expression? Want to die?”
“Ah, nothing. Just… according to the researchers, it was confird that there was no significant change in the human world. However, you will still want to research into it despite saying it.”
“If you know, then do what you are asked.”
“Ugh.”
Beiros made a sound of pain as he got up.
“Follow .”
The two left the Demon King’s place and headed to the summit of Mount Blade, the highest one.
A huge mountain with an elevation of over 10,000 ters above sea level, but no one other than the two of them was there.
A large windmill was spinning on the top, and various chanical devices were attached to it.
Among them, a blue-skinned demon wearing a white robe that would be worn by humans was looking at a device and the paper in hand.
Beiros called for him.
“Hey! Henos!”
The demon called Henos continued to look at the papers.
Beiros mumbled with an annoyed face.
“These cubs are also demons.”
Beiros moved and grabbed Henos by the head and moved it to him.
“Um?”
If it was anyone else, it wouldn’t be strange if they died from this, but Henos just looked at Beiros and said,
“Count, what are you doing here?”
Henos was intact, even with his neck turned 180 degrees, and greeted the familiar face.
“Long ti no see. Have you been good?”
“… not a single thing went well.”
“Right. So why did you co here?”
Saying that, Henos turned to his usual position, and Beiros sighed.
This attitude made Jamie a bit reluctant to approach the researcher. He was normally soone who didn’t like researchers.
They were so weird and different, and it felt like this one wasn’t bound by the laws of Devildom.
No care of what happened. Even if it wasn’t intentional, this was a bit of a demonstration of the power the Devildom held.
“Soone wants to et you.”
“Who?”
As Beiros pointed to the back, Henos poked his head and looked at Jamie.
“… human?”
“A man favored by His Majesty. If there is anything he wants to know, tell him.”
“His Majesty? Then he has to be a strong human.”
“His na is Jamie Welton.”
Henos tilted his head and looked at Beiros, who hated humans. From what he knew, Beiros was arrogant to even the higher rank demons.
But this guy was showing such an attitude towards a human?
Henos squinted his eyes.
“Did he catch one of your weaknesses?”
“Shut it! Anyway, answer him. if not…”
“And Mr. Beiros?”
“No.”
It seed like he wanted to say sothing, but Beiros didn’t care and turned around. Henos just shrugged.
Beiros approached the human and said sothing, causing them to nod and approach Henos.
“Nice to et you. I am Jamie Welton.”
“Hm…nice to et you.”
Considering Beiros attitude and the fact that the human was favored by Demon King, Henos decided to be calm.
“Is there sothing you want to see?”
“Right. It isn’t sothing huge. Can we find out how many years back this Acroba incident started in the human world? Beiros said that you would know.”
When Acroba was ntioned, Henos flinched a bit. Surprisingly, a human was showing interest in an event concerning the Devildom.
It wasn’t sothing he had to shy away from, so he said.
“I need to do so calculations.”
Henos shut his eyes and licked his lips as he began to calculate.
Jamie looked at him and felt a bit surprised.
‘Is he counting so many years with ntal arithtic?’
This was a trendous level of computational power even a great magician would not have.
Henos, who finished the calculation in an instant, said,
“In human ti, 13 years and 84 days ago.”
“… 13 years?”
“Yes. 13 years. A dinsion stone from another world appeared through the sky of Devildom around 13 years ago in human ti.”
The year Jamie was reborn into the Welton family.
