"The Last Saber? What do you an?" asked Agares.

The man on the throne raised his sword and banged the tip of the stone sword on the floor. A burst of energy spread throughout the room, causing Agares to imdiately beco wary.

Shocking! The energy blast caused thousands of saber knights in the area to vanish, fading into magical energy particles that floated and were absorbed into the stone longsword.

Slowly, Agares saw the stone crack and shatter instantly. His eyes widened in shock when he clearly saw a golden blade with a blue hilt. It wasn’t an ordinary sword, judging from its shape and montum.

The mysterious man sitting on the throne also changed, from a stone skull knight to a glowing golden knight.

His eyes opened and magical energy fluctuations spread throughout the place in the portal, an aweso power.

"Last saber. I am very lucky to et you in the last remnants of my soul," said the mysterious man.

He got up and stepped forward firmly. He left his sword and walked towards Agares, who looked aggressive.

"Don’t co any closer!" Agares ordered.

"I don’t have much ti."

He took one step forward, now standing directly in front of Agares. Agares looked shocked, his eyes wide, and he tried to jump away to avoid him. But he failed.

The mysterious man with golden light held out his hand and caught Agares’ body in a golden chain.

Agares’ hands and feet were shackled by the chain, his body lifted up as if he were hanging.

"Arghh!"

"You won’t be able to escape, no matter how hard you try."

"Who are you?! What do you want from ?!" Agares snapped.

"I don’t have much ti, so I can’t explain much to you right now."

"I hope you are smart enough to understand what I am about to show you."

"What—"

CLING!

The mysterious man glowing with gold raised his hand and held it out in front of him, touching Agares’ forehead.

A bright flash appeared, forcing Agares to close his eyes for a mont, feeling nothing in his body.

When Agares opened his eyes again, he gasped to find himself flying freely with his body filled with white light. Agares reflexively looked at his hands.

"What’s happening?" asked Agares, confused.

"Nyx?"

"Nyx? Can you hear ?"

Agares clicked his tongue; there was no point in calling the system back. Now, the only way for him to get out was to follow what the mysterious man wanted.

The man shifted his focus forward and watched the life of the mysterious man glowing golden. Agares knew him as Arthur.

He had been chosen to beco a knight thanks to the Saber hero job he had gotten. The setting of the story took place about 800 years ago, right before the Great Empire was ford.

At that ti, the Kingdom of Virelion was the only great kingdom that ruled over the entire human territory on the continent.

The seven hero jobs lived in harmony and worked together to defeat the demon clan.

At that ti, humanity was at the peak of its glory!

Thanks to Arthur’s diligent efforts and impressive achievents, his stage and level rose rapidly, earning him promotions to Saber Knight Commander, then Commander, and finally Head of the Saber Hall.

Finally, Arthur successfully completed the Divine Knight exam and was awarded the 35th Divine Saber in human history.

He was hailed as a hero, admired by many won, respected by many n, and dread of by many children.

However, Arthur’s golden age was short-lived!

A great war erupted. Humans called it the War of Glory. Demons called it the Holy War. There was a specific reason why they nad the war as such.

There was massive destruction, countless casualties, and even worse, the Divine Knights were injured.

Arthur, who fought directly against the Demon Emperor Vael’Tharon, was wounded and cursed with a powerful curse.

The war lasted for half a century. For no apparent reason, the Athanor region was covered in a poisonous fog, and hundreds of thousands of undead inhabited the area.

No one knows for sure what happened to the Demon Emperor Vael’Tharon. So say he died. So say he fell asleep. So even say he possessed Arthur’s body.

After dispelling and holy cleansing failed, the curse on Arthur’s body worsened and began to infect many people.

They were infected by the curse because they had a trace of resentnt in their hearts, and resentnt can be the first step towards darkness.

Arthur insisted that he was still Arthur, not Vael’Tharon. But because of the dark energy and Arthur’s changed attitude, his title of Divine Saber was revoked.

Anger reached its peak. Arthur couldn’t accept it. After all the sacrifices he had made, the King stripped him of his title and labeled him and all the sabers as traitors.

A civil war broke out! A great war within the human world caused by hatred and fear. The peace that had been maintained for decades after the War of Glory was gone.

Once again, humanity faced the threat of annihilation.

The Six Knight Halls united to defeat the Saber Hall. They had to unite their strength as they knew that they were no match for the Saber Hall.

For a long ti, the Saber Hall had been too dominant among the other knight halls.

The war lasted longer than they had predicted, around 150 years. In the end, the Saber Hall was destroyed and the remaining Saber Knights who surrendered were taken to Stormgarde to be killed.

Even so, they still had not found Arthur and the Divine Saber. The empire continued to search for information about Arthur’s whereabouts. Unfortunately, they only found failure.

Unbeknownst to them, Arthur was hiding on the 100th floor of the S-Level Dungeon. His soul would resonate if any Saber knights entered the dungeon.

Agares watched and understood why the Great Empire and the other four kingdoms were hunting the Saber knights.

They feared that an even more deadly and destructive war would occur in the future.

War against fellow knights was far more terrifying than war against the Demon Race. That was their doctrine.

Surprisingly, Agares saw the situation return to its original state. Both of his hands were still hanging upward, his body forming the letter "Y."

He looked ahead and saw a mysterious man glowing with golden light. Agares suspected that he was Arthur.

"Are you Arthur?"

"Do you understand everything?" asked Arthur.

"I understand."

Arthur nodded. He turned around and quickly stepped back to his throne. Arthur sat on the throne and banged his sword on the ground three tis.

The golden chains that bound Agares disappeared. The thousands of saber knights who had disappeared reappeared and knelt obediently before Arthur, the 35th Divine Saber.

Slowly, Arthur and everyone else in the room helped him up from his feet, spreading out to support him.

"You, the last Saber," explained Arthur.

"I am here, Saber Knight Arthur," Agares greeted.

"I left the Lun Astra Sword on the 100th floor of this dungeon."

"Go and train harder. Take that sword and beco the 36th Divine Saber," Arthur declared firmly.

"I will do it, Saber Knight Arthur."

"Avenge our deaths!"

"Destroy the Great Empire!"

"Destroy the six halls of knights!"

"Bring back—"

Just before Arthur could finish his last sentence, his body and sword turned completely to stone.

Agares looked to his right and left, witnessing many Saber Knights who had turned to stone.

Agares clenched his fists. His heart was filled with a burning desire to destroy the Great Empire.

Now, his purpose wasn’t just for himself, but for all the Saber Knights who had died because of the selfishness and fear of the Great Empire.

"I will keep my promise to you, Saber Arthur!"

"I will destroy the Great Empire!"
