The Dark Extra: Awakening of SSS-Skill Demon Emperor Legacy Chapter 23: The Rumours About Faircallen
Agares got the mount he wanted, a large brown horse given to him by Louise. The horse looked strong enough to help Agares travel through the city and villages.
After the saddle was attached, Agares climbed onto the horse and felt that he could control it well. Louise was relieved that Agares liked the horse she had given him.
"Rember my ssage, go to Berdiver City and find the Thorn family. They will help you," explained Louise.
"I understand."
Agares had to hurry. He had to leave the city center imdiately and head to the west gate, then ride quickly to Berdiver City to et the noble Thorn family.
The Thorn family was the na of Erika Thorn, the woman Agares had saved from bandits last week.
Although Agares knew his next destination, he was still curious about one thing. In his magic pouch, he had to deliver the Red Silk Worm and Autumn Night Flower herbs to Priestess Ara in Faircallen Village as soon as possible.
Since he had already obtained a mount and an exit token, Agares temporarily changed his destination from Berdiver City to Faircallen Village.
Given the current distance, there was a possibility that Agares would arrive at the village in 4-5 days of travel through the forest route.
From afar, Agares saw several people exiting the city through the sa gate.
Louise thought carefully; she realized that the situation in the city felt dangerously tense due to Agares’ presence there. They had tightened security for those entering and exiting the city.
That was why the guards were not only checking those entering but also those exiting. Everything was done with one purpose: to arrest Agares.
"Next!" the gate guard ordered firmly.
One by one, people were checked according to the rules, starting from their faces to their identities.
So were arrested, while others were let go. Most of those arrested were involved in previous criminal activities and were listed as wanted by the Kingdom.
"You’re safe, go."
"Next."
Agares slowly rode his horse forward, handing over the token of nobility he had received from Louise.
The gate guard looked surprised, then raised his face and saw Agares wearing a black robe with a hood that almost covered half of his face.
"The Thorn noble family?" asked the soldier.
"Ms. Erika Thorn gave it to . Don’t you believe ?!" Agares snapped.
"But didn’t Erika Thorn disappear? Are you trying to trick , sir?"
Agares sighed. He focused his eyes forward and said clearly that Erika Thorn had returned, saved by soone.
"How about we make a bet?" Agares asked.
"What?"
"If I’m right, you must agree to let take you to be punished in front of the Thorn Noble Family," Agares replied.
The man fell silent and couldn’t speak. He didn’t know what the situation was like in Berdiver City, but one thing was certain—he didn’t want his reputation as a worker to be ruined because of a lost bet.
The soldier whispered to his friend, confirming the news of Erika Thorn’s appearance. His friend knew a lot about Berdiver City. He said that Erika Thorn had been rescued from kidnapping.
Hearing that news was enough to shock and worry the man. He looked back fearfully at Agares, who continued to stare at him from inside the hood of his black robe.
"You must co with to Berdiver City!" snapped Agares.
"P-Please, sir. I admit I’m guilty. I’ll let you go as long as you don’t punish in front of the Thorn Noble Family."
Agares remained silent; he had no intention of punishing him. The earlier threat was a perfect bluff to sha him into admitting that Agares was part of the Thorn Noble Family.
In the end, Agares ignored the soldier and took back his token. With his horse galloping swiftly, Agares left Hurdor City, heading toward the forest instead of Berdiver City.
"Nyx!"
[Standby mode deactivated]
[Do you need anything, Master?]
"Activate smart navigation from my location to Faircallen Village," replied Agares.
[Command Accepted]
[Starting Smart Navigation]
[Location: Hurdor City]
[Destination: Faircallen Village]
[Route Found]
[I found two routes. Which one would you like to take?]
Agares stopped his horse and pressed the second route, an alternative route that cut through the forest.
With this route, Agares no longer had to worry about being suspected by the soldiers in the city.
[Second route activated]
[Turn right after 500m]
The green arrow characteristic of smart navigation appeared in Agares’s field of vision, visible only to him.
Agares imdiately spurred his horse again to follow the arrow. He had to get to Faircallen Village quickly as he had an uneasy feeling.
If Caer Vireth Castle had discovered Agares’ whereabouts and tracked him to the Zoragul border, they would certainly begin their investigation with the Nadia family and Priestess Ara.
Judging by the behavior of the people at the castle, Agares doubted that Nadia and her family, along with Priestess Ara, would be treated well or humanely there.
Agares must hurry there to confirm the village’s condition!

Three days later.
Akaren Village.
Ti passed, places changed. Agares was forced to rest twice in two different villages before he could reach Faircallen Village.
After a three-day journey, Agares finally arrived at Akaren Village. He t the children in the village again, greeted the villagers, and rested there for one night.
Unlike the urban area, there were no soldiers guarding the village. None of the villagers knew who Agares was. All they knew was that Agares was just an ordinary visitor from the west.
Unlike before, Agares spent the night at the middle-aged woman’s tavern. Agares had other reasons for doing so, one of which was to gather information.
During his journey, Agares faintly heard rumors about a village that had been destroyed by palace soldiers.
Agares heard the rumors, but he couldn’t confirm their truth because the people he asked didn’t have any definite information about them.
Now, Akaren Village was the only village closest to Faircallen, about a day’s ride through two dense forests.
With such a close distance, it would be easy for the villagers of Akaren to obtain accurate information about the situation in Faircallen.
"I heard that a village was destroyed in one night. What village is that?" asked Agares, sitting at the bar table while enjoying the rum poured into his glass.
"Don’t you know? Faircallen Village was destroyed by an attack from the soldiers of Caer Vireth Palace," revealed the middle-aged woman who owned the tavern.
"Faircallen? So, it was really Faircallen?"
"Yes. So of them fled to the city and other villages, while so ca to our village."
"What caused it?" asked Agares, curious.
"No one knows for sure. It happened at midnight, soldiers entered the village and killed everyone there, then burned their houses until there was nothing left."
"I heard another rumor, they were protecting high-ranking fugitives from the Caer Vireth Kingdom."
"That’s why the people from the palace killed everyone there."
