From the outside, the egg looked rely high enough for one person and wide enough for two, but upon entering, Jiang Shu discovered a whole new world inside.

Though it was a bit cramped for two people, squeezing in was still possible.

And the more they squeezed, the more exciting it beca.

Now, in a small elliptical space, Jiang Shu leaned against a part of the eggshell, but the inner layer of the shell was soft, making him feel as though he was lying on a beanbag. anwhile, Liu Tingruo was lying on top of him, resembling another beanbag.

Liu Tingruo relaxed in Jiang Shu’s embrace. She waved her hand lightly, and sothing flashed across the screen in front of her; then, soothing music started playing in the egg capsule, and the light changed from the stark white of illumination to a warr, dimr yellow glow.

"So this is the pride of your capital?" Jiang Shu pinched her face, feeling her entire body soften, "Star-level scientist?"

"The technology contained in this eggshell is very high-grade. As long as I close the door, no weapon in the world can harm ," Liu Tingruo said with a hint of pride. "The nutrition liquid here can sustain for more than a month of hibernation, and I’ve designed an automatic escape program for the eggshell that will respond to any potential disaster with hundreds of pre-set asures. The only downside is that, to maintain the eggshell’s defensive properties, it’s a bit of a hassle to disassemble it into parts once fully assembled. In order to demonstrate it to you, it’s going to take a half-hour to slowly dismantle it later."

In conclusion, she summarized, "Anyway, this is the safest place in the whole world."

"Aren’t there any counterasures?" Jiang Shu wondered.

"Of course, but definitely not on the eggshell; there’s no room for any more weapons," Liu Tingruo said nonchalantly. "I can remotely connect to my secret missile base, and no matter how much they bomb from the outside, it won’t matter."

"Uh..." Jiang Shu admired this novel concept of cha a lot.

So afraid of pain that you invest everything in defense?

And then leave the offense to precision-guided weapons?

It was a clever strategy, though it required substantially more funding than an average cha—after all, not everyone could afford to be such a big explosion enthusiast.

"Besides, I have many, many eggshells like this one scattered all over the experintal area. I can enter my own safe haven in just two or three seconds," Liu Tingruo continued.

For so reason, a strange image popped into Jiang Shu’s head—ostrich Liu Tingruo haphazardly laying eggs all over the experintal area.

Uh...

Why did the style suddenly beco a bit weird?

But then again, his surna was none the stranger for it.

At that mont, Liu Tingruo took a small chip-like object from her body and inserted it into a slot on Jiang Shu’s wristwatch, "This is part of the Secret Key; now you have the sa access as I do. If you run into danger outside, just head over here."

"Alright, got it," Jiang Shu nodded. This was probably Sister Ruo’s trump card, and she trusted him enough to hand it over without reservations.

This kind of unconditional trust was hugely impactful, not only for her but for him as well.

Jiang Shu gently held Liu Tingruo, savoring her scent.

"Don’t sll, I didn’t wash my hair," Liu Tingruo sounded displeased from her throat but was too lazy to push Jiang Shu away.

She squinted her eyes, resembling a napping cat, "I want to sleep here for a bit, just fifteen minutes. Don’t move around."

"Okay," Jiang Shu also settled down, his thoughts drifting away as he relaxed.

——

A violent shake disrupted Jiang Shu as he rested with closed eyes; he imdiately opened them to find Liu Tingruo lying on top of him.

Her expression was serious.

"Tang is here, right at the entrance of the lab," Liu Tingruo instinctively patted Jiang Shu’s face and then said, "You wait here for now; I’m going to move the eggshell into a corner. The capsule is soundproof, so you’ll be fine as long as you don’t make too much noise."

"Mhm, got it," Jiang Shu nodded.

Tang turned up here?

What did he want with Liu Tingruo?

Such questions arose in Jiang Shu’s mind, but he didn’t contemplate them much; after all, he would soon find out.

With that, Liu Tingruo opened the capsule’s door, swiftly exited, and her supple body unavoidably brushed against Jiang Shu. As she crawled out, she suddenly felt an obstruction, stopping in her tracks and lightly hitting Jiang Shu’s chest with a flushed face, "Stop it, we have serious matters at hand."

Jiang Shu only felt a small Iron Fist hit his chest, causing him to cough hoarsely and experience a montary tightness.

He couldn’t help but wonder, what did this have to do with him?

Liu Tingruo quickly left the capsule, leaving only a trace of her body wash’s fragrance. Soon after, four Tablet Spirits were thrown in.

"Bang—" The door of the capsule closed, and it moved by itself toward a corner of the lab, maintaining a stable internal environnt.

When the Tablet Spirits were tossed in, they all looked bewildered, sniffing and searching around the capsule like little dogs.

This behavior reminded Jiang Shu of a guide dog, so he knocked his head, a bit irritably, "You’re acting like the real thing. Do you have a scent collector or sothing, just sniffing around there?"
