Jiang Shu looked at himself in the mirror.
Dignified and elegant.
He turned his body to take another look.
Commanding and extraordinary.
Then the question arose.
Why would Kirie be afraid of him?
He stroked his chin, utterly baffled.
When he was at the Special Prison, he had sent the Derivative Entry· Spirit Perception back here to the Tablet Spirit, ordering them to collect information on other colors as well.
Just now, upon waking up in the early morning and while still groggy, he suddenly rembered this and decided to check the records of the Tablet Spirits.
The record listed colors like red, yellow, blue, and green, and each color represented both positive and negative emotions. For example, positive red signified joy and enthusiasm, while negative red ant anger.
Similarly, positive blue symbolized calmness, whereas negative blue represented lancholia; positive yellow denoted aspiration, while negative yellow implied thick desire; positive green suggested astonishnt, and negative green implied fear.
Ah, fear.
Try as he might, Jiang Shu couldn’t fathom why Kirie would feel fear in that situation.
Putting on a swimsuit, installing a shower head.
What was there to be afraid of? It wasn’t like he forced her.
So... was it astonishnt?
Though he couldn’t think of any reason for Kirie to be astonished.
Right, Jiang Shu recalled that the green at that ti also contained a hint of red. Generally speaking, positive emotions should indeed match with positive emotions. If combined that way...
Extre astonishnt mixed with a bit of joy, or extre fear with a bit of anger?
Considering extre astonishnt with a bit of anger, he hadn’t done anything to wrong her, which seed unlikely.
Or could it be extre fear with a bit of joy?
Co on, that’s even more absurd than Stockholm syndro. That’s just being a masochist. How could a normal person have such bizarre emotions.
Correct, but Kirie wasn’t a normal person, so that must be the right answer.
That sumd up Jiang Shu’s entire thought process. It might also be called speculation, but as he factored in other details, he felt his guesses were quite reasonable.
Absolutely a rational deduction with intelligence on point.
However, the problem circled back to the beginning. What exactly was Kirie Tsukimiya afraid of?
Jiang Shu pondered this while turning on the electric skillet. This morning he planned to make a few simple flavor chicken breast tacos. He had all the ingredients he needed.
Forget it, she was getting out today, so he could just ask her then.
Having made up his mind, Jiang Shu first put the chicken breasts in a bowl, marinating them with garlic powder, cumin, and other seasonings, then turned to Ding, who was washing dishes. He tossed him so bell peppers and instructed, "Blister them over live fire until they’re charred."
Ding promptly dropped the dishcloth, picked up the bell peppers, grabbed one with his hand while igniting a fla with the other, and began to roast.
After removing the charred bits, he chopped up the bell peppers, then added ingredients like tomatoes, onions, and coriander. A dash of black pepper, so lemon juice, and salt completed a simple salsa.
In fact, the convenience store downstairs stocked such sauces, and these non-Chinese sauces were more common compared to Chinese condints.
The preparation of avocado sauce was just as easy. Half an hour later, Jiang Shu wrapped several tacos and placed them into a portable al box.
He took one, packed it separately, and headed out of Magic House, knocking on the door next door.
402, which was Shen Xuwan’s office. At the mont, faint piano music emanated from inside, but it paused following Jiang Shu’s knocking.
"Good morning, boss," Shen Xuwan opened the door and greeted Jiang Shu, her voice full of vitality. She had been occasionally calling him this since he beca a shareholder.
"You..." Shen Xuwan saw the taco in his hand and said, "I had breakfast already."
"I’ll have it for lunch." She took the taco, glanced at it, "Is this a taco? I still prefer the sweet bean sauce on pancakes, it’s tastier than avocado sauce."
"Alright, I’ll make that next ti." Jiang Shu smiled, "I’m going to pick up Su Xiaoou. They’re getting released from prison today."
"Oh, right." Shen Xuwan counted the days, indeed it was today, yet she said unhurriedly, "I think Xiaoou was quite well off there. Her study efficiency was much higher."
"Indeed." Jiang Shu recalled his days at the Special Prison with deep understanding.
He waved goodbye and left, "Alright, I’m off then, see you later."
Inside Magic House, Jiang Shu knocked on Xiao Yi, who was still playing dead to shirk work on the wireless charging pad—a perfect image of idleness.
"Up you go, up you go," he called out, "Go strap a power bank onto Ding."
Xiao Yi’s screen stayed dark, but its cara lens pivoted to face Jiang Shu.
"If you don’t go, stay and clean. The bathroom and storage room next door haven’t been cleaned in a while." Jiang Shu gestured to Jia, Bing, and Ding, picked up the portable al box, and left Magic House.
Behind him, Xiao Yi bounced up with a carp’s flip and scurried after Jiang Shu, dashing to his front. It hopped and skipped, following close by.
It felt the need to stay within Jiang Shu’s line of sight at all tis, in case the other three Tablet Spirits struck with a vengeful blow.
And trailing behind it, the other three Tablet Spirits also andered along leisurely, circling around Jiang Shu’s shoulders.
——
Seventh District Police Station.
"Good morning, Consultant Jiang," a familiar officer greeted Jiang Shu.
Jiang Shu nodded at him with an equally formal smile, "Good morning."
