I was beyond relieved when the Prince’s acted like they hadn’t heard that question.
"Any other question?" Angelo asked and I tuned the rest of what was being said out, till we all walked off the stage. I was still breathing hard till we got to the part which was behind the stage and away from the eyes of the crowd gathered.
"We did good, yes?" Landon asked his brothers who nodded at the sa ti.
"Yup, I think so. Surprisingly, they accepted her way easily than I expected." Landon said as his eyes focused on . A mont later, the rest of the brothers were staring at as well and I squired underneath their sharp gazes.
"So, are you happy now that you’re gonna be Luna? Or you still wanna back out of this marriage?" Damon drawled and I pressed my lips into a thin line, choosing not to respond.
"Don’t tease her, Damon. Not out here where anyone can overhear," Angelo said and Damon rolled his eyes and was about to say sothing when a man I didn’t recognize ca up to the princes.
"The king and queen just left," he revealed and I stiffened, my mind returning back to the look I saw on the king’s fsce minutes ago.
"Think he’s mad?" Damon asked Landon he snorted.
"Of course he is. After all, we completely caught him off guard." Landon drawled as he laughed.
"Serves him right if you think about it." Damon stated and beside them, Angelo chuckled softly as he shoved his hand into his pockets.
I stared at them in confusion, unable to decipher their reactions right now.
"Guys, I don’t know why you’re laughing right now, are you sure we did well out there? Your father didn’t really look happy out there." I muttered and they all glanced at almost imdiately.
"Of course the old man isn’t. After all, he never expected us to present our fated mate tonight. He never wanted us to find our mate, no matter what. So, he was definitely very surprised, and not the good kind."
As Angelo explained, my eyes widened in imnse shock.
"Oh." I whispered and he humd as he nodded.
"We had to catch him off guard for tonight to have been possible, and he hates being caught off guard, which makes tonight even better. If we had inford him beforehand any you, you might have died by now."
My eyes almost fell out of their sockets from shock.
I turned sideways till I was staring at Damon as I questioned.
"Was that the reason you asked to never reveal that I’m your mate back at the palace? Because of the king?" I whispered, shock and disbelief coursing through my entire body.
Damon nodded. "Of course. That’s exactly why."
"Oh wow." I whispered again because I was still in so much shock. It was hard to believe what I was hearing right now. Finding one’s mate is a thing of joy. Why would a father try to kill his sons’ fated mate? That made no sense to .
Before I could ask them if they knew the reason their father was like this, the princes’ betrothed brides all arrived, looking hurt, embarrassed and extrely angry, they were all breathing hard and Adele even looked on the verge of tears.
At first, they all glared at like they wanted to push off a cliff right now, and this ti, I squared my chin and held their gazes, my lips twitching in amusent when their faces darkened even more with anger.
"You swine!" Adele scread as she glared at but I only rolled my eyes.
"Take whatever problems you might have with Damon, please. I have less patience right now than I did out there." I inford her and she bristled and gaped at from shock before turning to face Damon.
"Did you see how that charity case just spoke to ??! And what was that out there?! Please tell it was nothing but a joke!" She cried out but Damon only let out a long sigh.
"Adele, you’re making my head hurt. Leave here at once." He snapped and she gaped at him like she couldn’t believe her ears. She looked so hurt right now that I felt a little horrible for her, but when she turned around to level with a deadly look, the feeling of pity went out the window at once.
She didn’t say anything else, she didn’t even try to make Damon change his mind, she just turned around and wordlessly left.
When Landon and Angelo’s betrothed brides were about to start whining as well, guards were asked to throw them out of the backstage arena. I was shocked as hell as the whole thing happened, Gina scread bloody murder as she was carried out of the room with her legs kicking into the air.

These won are really desperate for n that clearly don’t want them.
I felt bad for them in that aspect, that was a really horrible feeling, and at once, my mind went back to Chris.
Right now if I see Chris, I’d finish what Angelo didn’t that day.

"The king has requested an urgent eting with you three back at the palace." He revealed before focusing on , and at once, my heartbeat accelerated fast because now that I know what the king was capable of, I was scared of what the man said next before he did.
